I Like You - HeYa FanFic - Chapter 6
17:26, 24 November 2012Naya Rivera’s POV
The pounding in my head woke me up with a start. I groaned as last night’s intoxication made me dizzy. I squinted as the Saturday sunlight stung my eyes. I attempted to sit up, shaking the bed making Heather groan beside me. I looked over at her and slumped off the bed and into a heap on the floor. I stood up and made my way to the bathroom where I threw up in the toilet bowl.
‘You shouldn’t have drank that much, Naya.’ I looked up and Heather stood in the doorway with her hands on her hips and her body wrapped with the bed sheet.
‘Piss off, Heather.’ I muttered before throwing up again. I heard Heather sigh behind me and felt her hand on my back. She pulled my hair back as I threw up loudly. ‘How much did I drink last night?’
‘About 4 bottles plus a glass of wine.’ Heather whispered. I shivered as I felt her hot breath against my bare skin. ‘You cold, baby?’
‘Yeah, the floor’s cold.’
‘Probably because you’re naked on it.’ Heather chuckled and wrapped the bed sheet around me so it was wrapped around both of us. Immediately, I was engulfed in body heat. Heather put her chin on my shoulder after giving it a small kiss. I spat out the last of my puke before standing up, turning to the sink and rinsing my mouth. I wiped my mouth on the towel and looked at Heather who was in the same position since I left her. ‘Are you okay, Naya?’
‘Yeah, I’m fine.’ I couldn’t tell Heather that I was drifting away although I knew she could sense it. ‘We should put some clothes on. Do you want to go out for dinner later?’
‘Sure.’ Heather stood up and smiled at me before leaving the bathroom. I sighed and buried my face in my hands. When I walked out of my bedroom, there was no sign of Heather. I walked to the kitchen and found a note that read:
Dear Naya,
I’ve gone home because I don’t want to be a burden.
Love always, Heather.
I smiled softly at Heather’s handwriting before scrunching up the note and throwing it in the bin. I had feelings for Heather, yes, but those feelings confused me. I knew I wasn’t fully gay nor was I fully straight. I was, oh what do they call it, bisexual? Yeah, probably. I wanted to be with Heather but not really. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I love Heather, probably more than I’ve ever loved anyone else, but I’m not ready for a serious relationship. It’s always been meet, have sex and say goodbye. But with Heather, it’s different. I can tell she wants a serious relationship but how do I tell her I’m not ready? I need to talk to Dianna about this. She’ll know what to do. I walked to my bedroom and put on my clothes. I pulled out my phone and began to text Dianna:
I need your help, Di. Meet me at my place?
A few seconds later, I got this reply:
I have something to tell you too. Sounds great, see you there.
XXXXX
‘What did you want to talk to me about?’ Dianna sat next to me on the couch.
‘Heather.’ I looked at Dianna.
‘Okay, what about Heather?’ Dianna held my hands comfortingly. ‘She’s not pregnant, is she?’
‘She’s not pregnant, Di.’ I smiled weakly. ‘I wanted to talk about my relationship with Heather. I feel like I’m not ready for a serious relationship. It’s always been one night stands for me, you know that. I want to tell her that I’m not ready but I don’t know how.’ Dianna looked at me thoughtfully.
‘Maybe you should sing her a song.’
‘That’s a great idea. I have the perfect song. I should sing Never Let Me Go by Florence and The Machine.’
‘But won’t that give the wrong idea?’ Dianna tilted her head.
‘You’re right.’ I looked down at my feet. ‘Maybe I should just tell her. Straight on out.’
‘Okay, but when?’
‘We’re having dinner later. I should tell her then.’
‘Sure. Good luck, Naya.’ Dianna rubbed my back in reassurance.
‘Thanks, Di. Thanks for being there for me.’ I hugged Dianna and I felt a lump rise in my throat. I hugged her tighter as the tears stung my eyes. I pulled away from the hug and smiled at Dianna as I wiped the tears away.
‘Don’t cry, Naya.’ Dianna wrapped her arms around me and I leaned against her.
‘What did you want to tell me?’
‘Guess who’s joining the Lesbian party.’ Dianna said excitedly.
‘Who?’
‘Lea and I.’
‘You and Lea are lesbians? Since when?’ I looked at Dianna, shocked.
‘Last night, we found ourselves naked on Lea’s couch meaning, we did it. So now, we’re dating each other.’
‘Have you broken up with Cory?’
‘Of course I have.’ Dianna leaned back in the couch. ‘Oh, and guess what our pairing name is.’
‘Pairing name?’ I looked at Dianna questionably.
‘Yeah, when someone famous is in a relationship with another famous person, the fans join their names together to get their pairing name.’
‘Oh. Um, I don’t know. Dea?’
‘No! Achele!’
‘A shell?’
‘Ugh, Achele! Agron and Michele make Achele!’
‘Oh! Do Heather and I have a pairing name?’
‘Totally, you guys are Heya.’
‘Heather and Naya make Heya.’ I whispered while smiling. I liked our pairing name and I have to admit, I was excited on telling Heather about it.
‘You like it, don’t you?’ Dianna smirked at me. ‘I could tell by the smile on your face.’ I looked away shyly. ‘Have you had lunch? I’m starving.’
‘No, help yourself to some cup noodles it’s in the cupboard above the microwave.’ I said as Dianna stood up and made her way to the kitchen.
‘Your cup noodles expired 3 years ago.’ Dianna shouted from the kitchen.
‘Oh, really? Di, this is a small apartment so you don’t have to shout if you’re in another room.’ I got up and walked to the kitchen. Dianna was taking out onions, spaghetti and chicken. ‘What are you doing?’
‘Making fried noodles.’ Dianna grabbed a bowl and mixed the ingredients.
‘Awesome. Tell me when they’re ready.’ I proceeded to leave.
‘What are you going to do in the meantime?’
‘Check up on my Twitter.’ I lied as I laid down on the couch. I pulled out my phone and started Googling other pairing names for Heather and me.
XXXXX
‘Heather?’ I stopped eating and looked up. ‘I have to tell you something.’
‘Hm?’ Heather continued eating her noodles.
‘It’s about us.’ I looked at Heather.
‘What about us?’ Heather stopped eating and looked up at me. I put down my fork and reached over the table. I held her hand and stroked it.
‘Naya!’ Heather quickly covered our intertwined hands with a napkin. ‘What if the paparazzi sees us?’
‘I don’t care, Heather.’ I rested my chin on my other hand and looked at Heather. ‘What are we, anyways?’
‘What do you mean?’ Heather looked confused.
‘What are we?’ I repeated. ‘What is our relationship classified as?’
‘Girlfriends.’ Heather looked thoughtful. ‘Not girlfriend as in best friend that’s a girl but girlfriend girlfriend, like dating.’ I smiled at her deliberate attempt to explain what we were.
‘It doesn’t seem like that to me.’ I scratched my temple.
‘What do you mean?’
‘We’re more like, friends with benefits, aren’t we?’
‘No, we’re not. We’re girlfriends.’ Heather took a sip of water. ‘What makes you think like that?’
‘We never cuddle and when we do, it’s in bed, naked after sex.’
‘Keep your voice down!’ Heather hissed. ‘We cuddle on set too!’
‘That’s not enough for me! And the viewers see Brittany and Santana not Heather and Naya!’
‘Are you saying you want to cuddle in public?’
‘Yes, that’s exactly what I’m saying.’
‘Then let’s!’ Heather raised her hand and flagged a waiter. She asked for the bill before turning back to me.
‘Right now?’
‘I’ll take you to the park and we’ll cuddle there and watch the fountains go off as the sun sets.’ The bill came and Heather fought with me to who pays. ‘Let me pay, it’s my treat.’
‘Fine, but I owe you.’ I muttered as I watched Heather slipping in the exact amount of money before standing up. She offered her hand to me and I gladly accepted it. We walked out of the restaurant and I heard Heather sigh beside me as the paparazzi engulfed us in flashing light and clicking sounds. I put on my sunglasses and watched Heather do the same. We kept our heads down as we walked to the car where I got in the driver seat as Heather go in the passenger seat. ‘Where exactly is this park?’ I looked at Heather who was smirking widely.
‘Just drive.’
XXXXX
‘This is really romantic, isn’t it?’ Heather whispered as she linked our arms. I shifted closer to Heather on the bench and laid my head on her shoulder.
‘Yeah, it is.’ I blew softly on Heather’s neck and giggled when she shivered. Heather turned to me and stuck her tongue out.
‘Meanie.’ I chuckled and bit my lip. ‘Don’t bite your lip like that. It makes me hot.’ I laughed. Soon, my laughter subsided and I leaned against Heather. We watched the sun creep towards the horizon and darkness filled the land. The lampposts flickered on and so did the sprinklers. I looked at Heather with a wide grin on my face. ‘No! No, no!’ Heather protested as I pulled her towards the sprinklers. I danced around the sprinklers, closed my eyes and enjoyed the spray of warm water. I opened my eyes and looked at Heather who was staring at me with her arms folded across her chest. ‘I am not going to get wet and ruin my new kicks.’
‘So take ‘em off.’ I stopped dancing and took off my heels. I tossed them aside and walked to Heather while enjoying the feeling of the soft grass tickling my feet. ‘I’ll help you.’ Heather looked at me, confused. I attacked her with tickles to her stomach, causing her to burst into a fit of giggles. She fell to her knees and grabbed my arm, pulling me down with her. I pushed her shoulders softly, making her lie down on the grass. I tickled her more before pulling of her heels and tossing them away. I was about to return to tickling her but she tackled me and tickled me. ‘Stop it!’
‘How you like me now, bitch!’ Heather screamed, playfully while she tickled me.
‘Stop! Stop!’ I yelled. ‘Ow!’ Heather stopped, thinking I was hurt.
‘Are you okay, Nay?’ She looked worried.
‘I’m fine but please, let’s not do that again.’ Heather smiled at me and nodded. I held out my pinkie. ‘Pinkie promise?’ Heather giggled.
‘Pinkie promise.’ Heather wrapped her pinkie around mine and we laid down side by side in the drenched grass. ‘My mum’s coming tomorrow.’
‘I forgot about that.’ I said truthfully.
‘Do you want to spend the night?’ Heather looked at me. ‘We can cuddle without the sex, of course.’ She added. I chuckled.
XXXXX
‘I’ve never been to your apartment. Is it smaller or bigger than mine?’ I asked Heather as Heather drove. ‘I’ve also never been driven around with you. Why didn’t you tell me you passed?’
‘First of all, I don’t live in an apartment, I live in a house.’ Heather took a right turn. ‘Second of all, I didn’t tell you because I wanted to surprise you.’
‘Are you sure we’re on the right street? This place seems shady.’ I remarked as we drove through a dimly lit street. ‘That’s very sweet of you for wanting to surprise me.’ I reached over and kissed Heather softly on the cheek.
‘We are on the right street. It’s just that the community owner is a cunt and doesn’t want to pay for community electricity.’ Heather cursed as she pulled into a driveway of a house smaller than the rest, but bigger than my apartment.
‘Language, Hemo.’ I warned as I got out of the car. I walked towards the porch of the house and leant against the door as Heather searched for the keys. ‘So you’re planning to go one night, with me, in bed and cuddling without having sex?’
‘Yup.’ Heather nodded frustratingly as she fumbled with the keys. ‘Excuse me.’ I moved out of the way and watched as Heather unlocked the door.
‘Game on.’ I whispered seductively after nibbling her ear. I squeezed past her and strolled into her house backwards, motioning Heather to come closer with my finger and smirking widely. She was frozen in the doorway. Heather shook her head and crossed the threshold. She closed the door behind her before turning around and locking the door. I wandered into her kitchen and gaped at the size of it. ‘Heather!’
‘Where are you?’ I heard Heather’s voice.
‘Kitchen!’
‘Oh, there you are.’ I turned around and Heather was standing in the doorway. ‘What’s up?’
‘Your kitchen, it’s really big.’ I sat on the kitchen table and crossed my legs. I purposely adjusted my skirt so it showed off my legs. I smirked when I saw Heather’s eyes grow wide. She blinked a few times and looked away.
‘It’s not that big.’ Heather whispered. I spotted a fork on the table and got an idea. I smirked.
‘Are you kidding me?’ I knocked the fork off the table purposely. I hopped off the table and bent down to pick it up. ‘It’s bigger than my kitchen plus my living room.’
‘No, it’s n-not.’ Heather stammered. I straightened up and place the fork on the table. I turned around and caught Heather biting her lip. ‘Do you want to watch some TV?’
‘Sure.’ I walked towards her and placed my hand on her shoulder. I softly drew gentle circles on her neck before kissing it gently. I squeezed past her and into the living room.
XXXXX
‘Mm.’ Heather moaned. My legs were wrapped around Heather’s waist and we were making out passionately on the couch. Heather pulled away. ‘I can’t do this.’
‘Heather, if you’re uncomfortable on the couch, we can do it on the bed.’ I grabbed Heather’s neck and pulled her closer. We kissed again before Heather pulled away.
‘No, it’s not that.’ Heather looked down. ‘You said you wanted to cuddle without sex. So, no sex.’
‘We can cuddle some other time. I want you so much right now.’ I leaned in to kiss her again but Heather turned away. I pouted.
‘This might be the only chance to cuddle without sex.’ Heather straightened up making me unwrap my legs from her waist. She leaned in the couch and turned her head to the TV. I laid frozen on the couch with my legs spread wide. Did Heather Morris just turn down sex from Naya Rivera? Oh, hell no. I smirked as an idea popped into my head. I sat up and leaned back. I stood up and looked at Heather.
‘Where’s your bathroom?’ I put my hands on my hip. Heather pointed to a door. I walked towards the door and opened it. I stepped inside and closed the door gently before locking it. I stared at myself in the mirror. Now, how do I make myself look irresistible? I messed up my hair and smeared more lipstick. I cleaned up the excess lipstick. I have to expose more of my body. I tied my shirt up in a knot, exposing my stomach. I folded up my skirt so it exposed more of my legs. I messed up my hair once again before stepping out. I leaned against the doorway and looked at Heather who was texting someone. I cleared my throat softly. Heather continued texting. I cleared my throat louder. Heather turned her head and her eyes grew wide. I put my hair on one side and put my hands on my hip. I bit my lip and smirked when Heather gaped. I walked towards the couch, swaying my hips exaggeratedly, and sat down. I crossed my legs and stared at the TV. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Heather was staring at my legs. I traced my finger on my leg making Heather gasp. Heather gulped and I turned to her. She quickly turned her head away. ‘What’s wrong, Hemo?’ I whispered, seductively.
‘The sh-show’s really, um, suspending.’ Heather pointed at the TV and looked at me. I could tell she was trying to direct her eyes away from my legs. I smirked.
‘We’re watching Desperate Housewives. How is it suspending?’ I whispered and pursed my lips. I unbuttoned the top button of my shirt, exposing my cleavage. ‘It’s hot in here, isn’t it?’ I was about to comment on the show when Heather attacked me with kisses. ‘Heather!’ I pulled away.
‘I can’t resist.’ Heather kissed me again. I smirked in the kiss, knowing I had won. I pulled away.
‘I thought you said you wanted to cuddle without sex.’ I whispered as I wrapped my legs around Heather’s waist. I moaned as Heather grinded into me.
‘Just let me.’ Heather grunted and kissed me again. She tugged at my shirt and I unbuttoned it. I propped myself up on my elbow and took my shirt off while Heather took off her jacket.

Heather’s phone beeped and I groaned. I sat up and found her phone on the coffee table. I answered the phone without looking at the Caller ID. ‘Hello?’
‘Hello? Who is this?’ A voice echoed through the phone. I rubbed my eyes.
‘This is Naya, Heather’s gir-, friend. Heather’s friend.’ I stammered.
‘Oh, hello, Naya. Heather speaks a lot about you. This is her mom.’ My eyes snapped open. ‘Is Heather there?’
‘Uh, she’s busy right now. She’s learning her lines.’ I lied as I glanced at Heather’s naked body on the couch. ‘May I take a message?’
‘That’s a shame. Can you please tell her that I will be arriving at the airport at 4pm?’
‘Yeah, sure.’
‘Ok, thank you, bye!’
‘No problem, bye!’ I hung up and placed Heather’s phone on the table. I kissed Heather on the cheek and admired her beautiful face. Heather’s phone beeped again. I groaned as I answered the phone. ‘Hello?’
‘Hey, babe! Do you want to go out for lunch today?’ A male voice sounded from the phone.
‘Heather’s not here right now. Who is this?’
‘Oh, this is Taylor, Heather’s boyfriend.’
‘B-boyfriend?’ I stammered.
‘Yeah, we’ve been dating for 2 years now.’
‘2 years?’ Tears stung my eyes, threatening to fall. ‘I’ll tell her you called. Bye’ My voice broke as I hung up. I placed the phone on the table. I stood up and put my clothes on. I was putting my heels on when Heather woke up. She smiled at me. ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ The tears started streaming down my face.
‘Tell you what?’ Heather’s face turned worried. She sat up and put her underwear on. She stood up and cupped my face in her hands. I shoved her away.
‘Don’t play stupid, Heather!’ I muttered. I finished putting on my heels and I straightened up. ‘Why didn’t you tell you had a boyfriend?’
‘Taylor? I was going to break up with him last night.’ Heather put on her shirt. ‘Before you seduced me.’ She added.
‘2 years, huh?’ I yelled. ‘You lied, Heather. You lied to me. You said that you weren’t dating anyone.’ My voice broke and the tears streamed down my face.
‘I’m sorry!’ Heather looked hurt. ‘I wanted to tell you!’
‘You said you loved me. You said best friends don’t tell each other lies. I guess you were just lying about that too, huh?’ I gathered my stuff.
‘Look, I said I’m sorry!’ Heather protested. I rolled my eyes and walked towards the door.
‘I’m through with you.’ I muttered.
‘W-what?’
‘That’s right. I’m breaking up with you.’ I opened the door and walked outside. I got into my car. ‘And, I’m not lying.’ I drove off. My vision was blurred by my tears. I wiped them away and continued driving. I looked in the side mirror and saw Heather standing in the driveway staring as I drove off.
