Chapter Thirteen

Dabi pov

I emerged from my old, dusty room, dusting off my cloak and jeans. "Okay," I got to the main lounge and stared at everyone. "What are we doing?"

"We are seeing the course for Chisaki's headquarters, going to destroy it and take their research." Shigaraki explained. "They produced what's supposed to be Quirk-deleting bullets. We are taking those for ourselves."

"Alright, but I'm going under one condition," I shoved my hands in my pockets. "Once these bullets are in your possession, I want out."

"Out? Of what?" Twice asked.

"Out of the League."

"Oh?" Shigaraki's tone was... different. "You think we'll let you off the hook that easy?"

I narrowed my gaze at him. "What are you implying?"

"Here's a better deal," Shigaraki's grin curved on his face. "You do what we say, and you can return to your family."

Suddenly I felt a sensation crawl under my skin as Mr. Compress asked, "Wait, family? Dabi, I thought your family died?"

"No," Shigaraki shook his head.

"Wait, so the woman and kid..?" Twice muttered.

I felt a switch flip in me. "Where are they?!" I launched myself toward Shigaraki, pinning him to the ground. Everyone else tried to wrestle me off until Twice made duplicates of Mr. Compress and successfully got me off.

"Oh, they're safe for now." Shigaraki pulled out a laptop from under the counter. The screen was turned to me, and showed y/n and Ember sitting in separate cells. Y/N knocking and banging on the glass and Ember...

Oh my god. She got taller. And her white hair got longer.

"Wait wait wait wait a second!" Twice shook his head. "Dabi you have a kid?!"

I stared at Ember, watching her still body on the ground. "What did you do to them?!" I demanded.

"There's a deal, Dabi," Shigaraki looked into my eyes. "Help us, and when I deem you've done enough I will release them and you can go play Mister Daddy."

I snapped my head at Toga. "You told, didn't you?"

"Wait you fucking knew?!" Twice stared at Toga.

"I didn't say shit until we started falling down," Toga shrugged. "I also wanted to see that bitch behind a cage too, and your weak daughter."

"Dabi, don't get angry, otherwise the family reunion will be cut short." Kurogiri warned.

I glared back at Shigaraki, my body surrendering. "Fine. What do you want done?"

Ember's pov

I smelt ash and smoke. I lifted myself off the cold stone floor and rubbed my head, looking around. "Ember!" I heard Mom scream my name and turned my head, seeing her looking at me through a thick box of glass. "Ember, are you okay?"

"Mom, where are we?" I muttered, scooting back until my back hit something. I turned to look and it was a giant wall of glass as well.

"The League kidnapped us," she explained. "They want something with your dad.."

"Dad? Why?" I looked back at her again. "Is he here?"

That's when I saw a look of defeat loom over her. "N-Not exactly... Listen. There's something I've been hiding from you, and you deserve to know."

"What?"

"Your dad... when I met him, he was a member of the League of Villains."

My heart shattered. "When he destroyed that building, he was working with them up until he saw you," my mom kept explaining. "Ever since that day you two locked eyes he wanted nothing more than to be your dad."

"Well, if we're here, then the league must need something don't they?" I asked. "What do you think it is?"

"I don't know, but something bad if they kidnapped us.." mom muttered, looking around. "I've been trying to find a way out, but I can't."

I tried thinking to before something in me told me to press my hand against the glass. I did, feeling the cold surface shoot up my arm. I watched as smoke begin rising from my fingertips.

"Ember, what are you doing?" My mom asked.

"Maybe I can burn a hole.."

"Ember, don't!" My mom begged. "We don't know hope thick this glass is, and we don't know if your quirk can withstand it!"

"It's worth a try to see my dad again." I narrowed my eyes at my hand, tears spilling down my cheeks as my hand began to sink into the wall.

"Ember, stop! You're going to hurt yourself!" Mom shouted. "I'll find us a way out!"

"No," I began sobbing, ignoring the burning pain in my hand. "I-I just need to try harder! Daddy will find us, I know it!"

"Ember, he can't otherwise he would've gotten us already!" Mom shouted. "But if you keep going you're gonna get killed!"

I ignored her, but her continuous shouting and pleas for me to stop only made me angry. The girl began to burn hotter, and my hair flared up.

Dabi pov

I suddenly smelt something burning. I looked toward the door and saw smoke coming from underneath it.

Ember!

I yanked my grip free and ran toward the door, kicking it, and ran downstairs.

Y/N was in one cell, pounding her fists on the glass and screaming, while the other had a bright blue flame within it.

Then I started making out a body.

"Dabi, stop her!" Y/N screamed at me. "She's burning herself!"

I set the door to the basement on fire, leaving the others trapped, and ran toward the glass, pounding on it. "Ember, stop!" I shouted.

"Daddy..." her voice choked out. "I-I can't.."

"Yes you can!" I pleaded with her. "You're going to seriously hurt yourself if you don't stop!"

"I just want you to come home..." I watched her form sit on the ground. She began crying, her hands covering her eyes. "I just want my dad again. I want to make breakfast with you, and have you read stories to me at night. I want you to pick me up after school everyday and take me to get ice cream every Friday and make me promise not to tell mom about it."

"Ember, you need to calm down!" I shouted at her, hearing crashing behind me. "If you don't settle your flames you're going to burn yourself!"

"No..." she stared at me before looking past me. "Daddy watch out!"

I felt something sharp enter through my left shoulder. I turned my head and saw Toga standing there, one of her knives in my shoulder. "You were supposed to be mine, and all mine, not theirs!" She cried out. "If I can't have you - no one can!"
