Chapter Twelve
18:20, 9 February 2025Dabi's pov
One minute I was sitting in my cell twiddling my thumbs, and the next minute I got told that there was a phone call for me. I was escorted by the cops to the place with the telephone booths and saw a hooded figure there, a familiar smirk on her face. I took the phone and after the cop walked away asked, "What are you doing here?"
"There's one more job we need to do, and it involves you." Toga's smirk sent a chill down my spine.
"I'm not doing it." I shook my head.
"Oh, really?" Toga pouted before her voice suddenly changed. " 'Please, Daddy?' "
"Don't you use her voice." I warned her, glaring at her.
"Well I wouldn't have too if you only knew what was going on.."
"And what's that?"
"I'll tell you what; you help us in this job, and the League will take their eyes off of your family-"
"What the fuck are you doing watching my family?" I demanded.
"Keeping tabs, of course," Toga smirked. "Sounds like Ember's having a hard time without Daddy..."
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, you haven't heard? Miss Amī is her therapist and says Ember has the worst case of depression in a child ever!" Toga taunted. "And your baby mommy had to transfer to a new school for fighting."
"Leave them alone or I swear to God-"
"We have one more job to do, and you are part of that job, Dabi." Toga warned. "You do this, and we leave your family alone forever."
I felt my lip twitching as I stared into her sickening eyes.
"What do you need done?"
I am now realizing I have been staring at the fridge for ten whole minutes.
Either I whip up something semi okay or I take Ember out to eat and get groceries afterwards.
"Ember, get some clothes on!" I shouted, closing the fridge. "We're eating out tonight?"
"Can we go to the Soba Shop?" She called back from her room.
"Yes we can go to the Soba Shop!"
It's cheap, the soba's always good, and it's something Ember will happily eat still.
She stepped out of her room and down the hallway, wearing jeans and a purple sweatshirt. I grabbed my coat and keys before escorting her out of the apartment.
We reached the Soba shop within fifteen minutes and took our seats in the same booth, the second one in on the left hand side by the window. I could never figure out why Ember always chooses this booth.
"Hello, ladies! Miss Ember." The waiter greeted us with a smile. "Do you want your usual today?"
"Yes, please." I nodded.
"Can I have extra shrimp in mine?" Ember looked up.
"Of course, I'll tell the chef to treat you today." He winked before taking off.
"So, Ember. How was school today?" I looked at her.
She started off outside, looking into the busy street. "School was okay."
"Well did any kids give you a hard time?"
She was silent for a second before answering, "No."
"Ember..."
"I don't want to discuss it." She lowered her head into her arms in the table, keeping her gaze outside.
I sighed, leaning back a bit in my booth. "Honey, why do you like this both?"
Embers blue eyes flickered to me. "Don't you remember?"
I raised an eyebrow at her. Ember sat up, a small smile on her face before pointing at a building outside. "This is the first time we saw Daddy."
I froze, suddenly remembering the building she pointed at her destroyed by his flames.
"He set the building on fire, ready to rampage, but when he looked at us he stopped," Ember added, a tear spilling from her eyes. "I like to think the next time we see him will be in this booth and he'll be-"

Third person pov
"Where are they?" Twice muttered, stepping into the destroyed wall. He turned his head and looked to his left, seeing y/n and Ember knocked out. "There they are. Mr. Compress, do you thing and let's get out of here."
Mr. Compress came over and tapped the two bodies with his cane, turning them into small blue balls. He quickly caught them midair before storing them into his pocket. He and Twice left soon after. "What do you think the boss will want done with them?" Mr. Compress asked.
"I don't know," Twice shrugged as the booth slipped into an alleyway. "He only told me to grab them and come back while Toga got Dabi."
"Hmm.." Mr. Compress hummed. "I wonder if he had some diabolical plan for the two. Who do you think they are to Dabi?"
"I don't know, but probably important if we were asked to kidnap them."
"I see. Well we better head back and bring the two over."
The two quickly returned to the base, where Shigaraki and Kurogiri were waiting. "Do you have the two people?" Shigaraki demanded.
"We do. Where would you like them?" Mr. Compress pulled the two balls out of his pocket.
"There are holding cells downstairs," Kurogiri explained, motioning towards. "Bring them down and put one in each."
"Hey who are these two to Dabi, and why do we need them?" Twice asked.
"That's on a need to know basis, just do as I say." Shigaraki insisted.
Mr. Compress nodded and headed downstairs, seeing the two cells Kurogiri spoke about. He tossed each ball into each cell, watching them disintegrate and the two bodies appear, still knocked out. He closed and latched the door locked right before y/n began stirring awake. "Oh, good! You're waking up!" He clapped his hands together. "The suns shining! But not down here!"
Y/n groaned, rubbing her head. "Where are we.." she tried looking around.
"You're at the base of the League of Villains," Mr. Compress answered, both hands on the top of his cane in front of him. "Orders from our leader were to take you and your daughter."
Y/n's eyes widened. "Oh shit-you need to let us go!" She pounded on the thick glass.
"No can do!"
"You don't understand! If Dabi finds out you guess kidnapped us-"
"Oh, he won't. You both are just... collateral damage." Mr. Compress waved his fingers at y/n. "I best get going, the shows about to start. Ta da!"
He hurried up the stairs, y/n shooting after him before he closed the door, silencing her muffled screams.
