𝐴𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑎 𝑅𝑜𝑠𝑎

Spring break sadly ended and now school began, I didn't really do much during the week except being with my family, watching Netflix, and sitting on my window sill to look at the sunset and gaze over the stars.

I got up early this morning cause of school, I made my hair wavy and did my morning routine. I put on a off shoulder shirt and it was long sleeve, and some ripped mom jeans. I put on some doc martins, and went down stairs to eat breakfast.

"Ready for school?" Ale asked me

"So not ready" I mumbled

"Okay you guys will have to walk home cause we will be at work" my dad pointed at us and I sighed

"Okay" I nodded, I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and went to my room to get my back pack and books.

"Lista?" My mom said ale and I nodded and got in the car. I put in my Headphones and just listened to music as My mom drove us to school.

We got to our new school, I looked at him and I swear there was no people with color in the school only white, but everyone's human.

We both started walking into the building and everyone gave us looks. I ignored, no one dressed like we did, no one looked similar to us, like no one was tan, or had any Hispanic features.

"Nos están viendo como si somos de otro mundo" Ale

"Yo se," I nodded, we walked into the office and saw a lady at the front desk.

"You guys must be the new students" she grinned

"Yes" Ale nodded

"So here are your schedules and we will have a student show you around" she told us and we nodded "do you guys speak English or no?" She asked us

"Both" Ale said, as you can tell I'm not that social compared to my brother.

"That's nice, and here is your guide," she showed us a boy with blue eyes and he looked really attractive

"I'm Jonathan Anderson" he smiled, I felt my heart speed up

"Okay Jonathan show them around the school, no funny business" she told him

"I won't" he chucked, I felt my ears get hot, we started walking with him out of the office.

"So what are y'all's names?" He asked us

"I'm Alejandro and this is my sister Athena" he said Introducing me

"Sick names, where you guys coming from cause you guys don't really look white" he chuckled

"Well we are from Florida, but our ethnicity is Cuban"

"That's cool, do you guys speak Spanish then?" He asked

"Yeah" ale nodded,

"Okay so here's a bit you guys should know about the town and city, we are split by how rich and poor we are, it's dumb. Anyway socials which we call socs are the rich kids, they wear fancy clothes and are a bit snobby and mean, then there are greasers, they are hardhead wear a lot of grease wear leather jackets and aren't rich at all, socs and greasers get into fights a lot, but I'm in the middle class which means I don't really have to worry about that." He smiled,

He started showing us the classes and told us about events and basically everything about the school and town. He told us where our class will be and sadly I don't have that many classes with Alejandro, I only have Spanish with him and we already know how to speak the language so it will be like a free period.

We walked over to Ale's 4 period class and dropped him off,

"Wish me luck" he chuckled and went inside the classroom leaving me with Jonathan.

"Can I see your schedule to check your next class?" He asked me, I gave him The schedule and walked with him "b15, which is on the second floor and my cousin is in that class so you might meet her." He said, I nodded and we just kept walking "so you are awful quiet" he chuckled

"Yeah" I nodded and looked down

"You two are twins right?" He questioned

"Yep" I nodded

"That's cool, okay I know it's weird if I say this but you are really beautiful" he said scratching his neck, I felt my cheeks turn red

"Thank you" I said softly

"I think you are the prettiest girl in town, I'm not lying, I mean my cousin doesn't look that bad either but like you aren't white and that's kinda hot and you are hot" I started giggling and I smiled

"Like no one in this town has a smile like that" he smiled

"You sure are sweet you know that" I giggled

"Well thank you" he said in a British accent

"No problem kind sir" I said back, we both started laughing and we got to my class,

I got to the class and thanked him, I walked in and everyone looked at me.

"You must be the new student Athena Rosa correct?" The teacher said

"Yes" I nodded

"Come in, the class won't bite" he chuckled, I walked In Quietly and saw girls whispering and boys smirking. "You may take a seat where ever you like" I nodded and just walked to the back next to this girl.

The teacher started talking and I swear I almost fell asleep.

"Athena right?" The dirty blond asked me, I nodded and looked at her "I'm Andrea Miller" she smiled

"Wait I met your cousin, Jonathan right?" I asked her

"Yeah John is my cousin, he showed you around school didn't he?"

"Yeah he was really nice" I grinned

"And annoying" she laughed then I giggled softly

"Mrs Miller is there something you want to share to the class?" The teacher asked her

"Yes that you look like the old guy from back to the future, you need a little make over if you ask me" She said to the teacher

"Detention," he said pointing at her

"Oh god you got me scared," she said sarcastically

"There's another one" he said

"Eat my shorts" she said to him

"What did you say?"

"I said Eat. My. Shorts" she said loudly and slowly

"Another one make actually make that detention for the rest of the week Miller" he said strictly, she rolled her eyes and looked at me

"You sure are a tuff cookie" I said

"Yeah, I ain't scared plus I got nothing better to do, except make teachers mad, it's fun, anyway what's your snap and insta?" She asked me

"Oh well my snap is athena_rosa and my insta is the same" I told her

"And added, what the hell how do you have 500k followers?" She said shocked

"I'm from Florida and I know people from Cuba" I giggled

"That makes sense I guess" she shrugged,

The day went by slow, I didn't really do much, all I did was say hi I'm Athena then sit down fall asleep with my headphones in and then leave.

As I left my last period I went to my locker to check it out,

"Who's the new girl?" I heard a bratty tone say

"I don't know but I heard that she is like Hispanic or Mexican" I felt flames to in me, I am not Mexican!

"Ew" she said, I rolled my eyes and just slammed my locker

"Hey Athena" ale said smiling

"Mi quiero ir no me gusta esta esquela" I said to him crossing my arms

"Come on it ain't that bad" he nudged my shoulder "it's just the first day" he smiled

"Whatever" I sighed

"Listen I'm going to try out for the football team today" What the hell!?! He can't just leave like that

"Fine, go I know you'll make it" I grinned and looked down

"Okay I'll see you at home" he kissed my cheek and left

I really didn't want him to tryout but I knew he would make it in. Plus he probably already has friends.

"Aren't you the new girl" the same bratty voice sad tapping my shoulder

"Yeah and?" I asked softly

"Oh you speak English I thought you didn't cause you know your kinda Hispanic" she said giggling, I didn't really know how to respond to that so I just ignored

"So um is that what you wear everyday?" The other girl said looking at me grossly

"Yeah and?"

"It's kinda slutty and ugly" she said grossed out

"At least I know how to dress" I mumbled

"What?" She asked

"Nothing" I shook my head

"The top kinda makes you look fat" she pointed out

"I don't think I asked for you opinion, so can you leave me alone?" I said to there faces and just left walking away, they mumbled something but I didn't hear what they said, I just felt tears run down my cheek. I started walking quickly but ended up running home.

Once I got home I ran up the stairs and threw my school stuff on the floor and just opened my window and sat in my window sill and just cried.

I felt like those words repeated in my head over and over again, I just wanted it to go away.

"Hey!" I heard a voice from below say, I looked around Trying to find where the voice was coming from "over here!? Are you okay?!" The voice said again, it was a boy.

I looked at him and sadly grinned and nodded

"You don't look okay" he said Loudly

"I-I'm Fine, thanks for asking"I sniffled and wiped my tears away

"I'm sodapop!" He yelled out

"I'm Athena" I said back,

"That's a pretty name for a pretty girl like you!" He smiled, I looked down and smiled "follow my snap and text me there! It's soda_pops" he yelled out, I typed it on my phone and added him. I waved to him a bad went back into my room

"Why you sad?" He texted

"Why would I tell a stranger like you?" I texted back

"Because I don't like seeing pretty girls cry, and I'm no stranger, I'm you neighbor for crying out loud" he said with a laughing emoji

"Well I don't know you at all, if I did I would tell you, all I know is that your name is Sodapop which is very unique and that's all"

"Well then here is a little something" he sent a picture of 3 boys "these are my 3 brothers, our parents sadly died a few months ago, I'm 17, I don't go to school cause I'm dumb, so I work at a gas station called the DX and I love it, I have 4 friends that are pretty amazing, and I don't like seeing people cry or be sad" he texted

"I guess you really do want to talk to me" I send a upside down smiley face

"Sure do" he send a happy face

"Well, I just moved here from Florida, I have a twin brother, I'm 17 but I look 15, I talk Spanish, and today was any first day at school and i got attacked by these brats at school and I just want to be by the beach feeling the warm sand on my skin" I texted back

"Okay so here is my advice; don't let the brats get to you cause I swear you caught my eye the second I was going to walk into my house but then I saw you, and I think it's really cool that you are from Florida and talk Spanish there aren't people like that here, and they aren't really that used to seeing a person that ain't white in town"

"Thanks for making me feel better" I sent him a pink heart.

He sent a snap of him smiling. He looked really cute, he had blue eyes and golden hair. I sent a video of me doing a cute fish face and then smiling.

"I have to go Sodapop but I'll talk to you later" I texted

"Okie, I hope you have a good night" he send a smiling face and then I just turned off my phone went to the bathroom to shower and put on some comfy sweats and t shirt.

The rest of the night I are raspberries and I decided to watch a new series so I watched vampire diaries.
