A bit too Confortable

The next week passed with ease, when I stopped to eat I would visits the hactchling, I had inquired to the outher keepers about him a and they told me that his parents were dead from trappers and had been caged for most of his hatching, and he didn't trust any of the villagers currently, I made it my duty as a mother and a dragon at that, to help this new hatchling, he slowly got used to me, he still won't come too close to me but will occasionally engage in a small conversation if he wants. Today however the healers had the dragons contained there hasn't been much injuries or ail was that they needed my help with and I've tried to take up some of my older habits, like cooking again.

Today I made one of my favored meals that eret loves too, when eret was little he called it a "warriors lunch" and that's what we called it, it was quite easy to make, and could be hot or made for the road,  there was drumsticks of any animal of your choosing, sweet molasses bread, aged Munster, hard boiled eggs and a mix of berries and nuts for a smaller snack before or after if needed. I decided that I would wrap the leftovers and deliver them to eret and hiccup who have been holed up in hiccups house talking about something, I left valka a helpeing for her in the kitchen and I had my own but that also meant that I had a larger portion left over.

Thinking about it I remember that Gobber said he doesn't have much time to cook when he's working and that means he probably hasn't eaten yet, smileing I pack up the rest of the helpings and place it at the bottom of the basket next to my own, decide if I'll stop at the armory last.

I drop off lunch at hiccups hut and eret nearly melts at the sight of his favorite meal, acting like an animal who has eaten eaten in years as he tears into it, I hand hiccup his and make my leave with a goodbye. Halfway to the forges I see valka pauseing to tell her that I left her some lunch in her hut whenever she has some to eat. Takeing a dee breath I make my way closer to the forges and soon it's in front of me, there's not much villagers here and I see Gobber running around and tinkering with various things. Grump is off to the side resting looking a lot better then last I saw him. Walking in I stand to the side out of Gobber a way, my basket that I had used to cary the luncheon at my chest.

" Gobber? "

With a start he turns and looks at me in surprise, " OH sorry about that I din see ya there, now what can I help you with alayah? Did you finally get herself a dragon to ride?"

He turns to look at me and I laugh a bit, placing my basket onto the nearest and least clutterd table i strat to unpack the meals. " well, no actually I'm here because I had some leftover luncheon and I remembered that you said you don't have much time to do anything out here outher then work so I figured I would give you it, that is of course if you don't mind me joining you?"

" ....oh, ahem well thank you alayah for the lunch, but I have many of things to get done and I, er would like to get them finished."" oh come on Gobber, I'm fairest sure that your business won't be dwindled just because you took a few minutes to eat with me if anything it would help you in the end giveing you energy to finish them."" oh alright, but only for a little bit"

Smileing I place out our lunches onto the table as he sits down and starts to eat, I wait for him to take the first bite to see if he likes it, a look of shock crosses over his face and he looked at me and then the leg in his hand, I frown worried that it isn't good." do you not like it? You don't have to eat it I can find something else if you want-"" no no no! It's absolutely perfect alayah! This is probably the best meal I've had since my mums cooking, I love it thank you."

Takeing a deep breath I sigh happy that i didn't accedently poison him,

" I'm happy to har that, this is eret's favorite and I was worried I was out of practice cooking for outhers, now let's finish eating, maybe now you can tell me about that recipe you've been trying to get right."

Gobber smiles as he goes off about his recipe, and I listen intently, we spend the meal talking and chatting about outher things, we both enjoy the meal and when we finish I bid Gobber good day and tell him I'll bring any outher leftovers I have later on. Halfway home a short man walks from the docks a few scrolls peeking out from his bag, he looks confused and very scared to be here, looking past him I see a ship that isn't ours, assuming he's in the wrong place I approach him my jacket still cluctched to my chest.

" excuse me sir. Are you lost? This is burk and the next village should be about a day and a half to the setting sun." " oh um sorry miss, if this is burk then I'm afaraid I'm in the right place I'm looking for chief hiccup or his second in command I'm not really shure where to look expecially because of the d-dragons that are everywhere here."" oh well lunch for you I'm the second in commands mother, I know where eret and chief hiccup both are, don't worry dear the dragons won't bother you unless you have any weapons pointed at them or raw fish on yeh, haha follow me I'll show you the way."

" o-oh ok thank you ma'am"

I lead the scared man through the village some people looking at us but paying no mind when I was ave them off, he follows close behind me as we get up to hiccup hut at the top of the hill, I see toothless at the entrance blocking the front door.

"Um lady.... t-that's a night fury... maybe we could just come back..."" nonsense and call me Alayah, now come on toothless get up, this man needs to speak with hiccup and Eret, if you go and go play with Stormfly for a bit I'll get you a fish?" A grumble later and toothless slowly getting up and moving past me I give him a nice pat on his way out the scared man still hiding behind me and tying to stay behind me and toothless the whole time.

Now with the door clear of dragons I knock three times before opening the door, hiccup and Eret are around a table with one of hiccups maps spread out in front of them, a mass of blank papers and charcoal along with a compass in front of them, valka stands off the the side pointing to something on the table. " chief hiccup there's a man here to see you, I think he's from one of the outher villages, nearly passed out at seeing toothless haha."

I usher the man the rat of the way in before closing the door and standing next to valka. " ahem. Chief hiccup horrendous haddock the third, and Eret son of Eret second in command my names Argus skinner Spitlow the first, I come from the village Burling, my chief Markus Unnus the defender along with Eethus Onnus the insane of the village Gon-ooz, and Khad Brought the insulter of the village brownstone have all sent scrolls to request that they come and see your village and dragons for themselves, here is there letters and they will be awaiting your answer."

We all look at Argus in shock as hiccup grabs the three scrolls from him, I was the first to move of the three of us, clearing my throat I move towards the door, ushering Argus outside. " thank you sir Argus, why don't you relax in the tavern for the day while the chief looks over the letters, there will be a room there for you if you tell the bar made your there on your Chris's business and chief hiccup will be covering your costs, he will have an answer for you to delver by tomorrow night I'm sure. Now Hellen, here will show you the way to the tavern won't you dear, ok goodbye now."

Rushing back inside the hut I close the door and run back over to the table where everyone was now looking over the scrolls contents. " well? What do they say?"" chief Markus, wants to see how strong your village is and by what I've herd from your father hiccup previously this Cheif is very strong in the fighting department, it seems he wants to gauge weather we will be a threat or not, and it seems he has two sons and daughter he might try to set you up with also."

" b-but I have Astrid?! Ugh, well it looks like Chief Eethus is doing the same thing though he has two daughters, and wants to seen the newer inventions I've made for dragon ridding, what do you know about him?"

" well, contrary to his name he is mostly sane though he got the title because he mad his men were stranded for quite some time and he went a little crazy after he ate a few bad berries, he still hasn't completely healed from it, his village is known for their knowledge oddly enough, some of the things that we even use here were made in Gon-ooz."

"And this Cheif Khad? He wrote that he has three daughters and three sons, and he wants to see and hear about your conquests and how you tame the great dragon beasts and if you could teach his sons"

"..Chief Khad.......gave your father a lot of trouble hiccup, he was rude and brash and had very little regard for everyone especially lady's, his......children are not all from his wife's skirts is I can say, and his village is known for making the most lovely clothing and colors, and ale as well, but I believe that we would benefit from having these Chiefs visit Berk in the end, even if you don't marry their daughters. But you are our Chief and in the end it's your choice."

" sigh, what do you think Eret? Alayah?"

" well, as your second I say that it would be good for trading between the villages and we could always benefit from new trades between Burke. But it does even odd that three village Chiefs send one man to deliver their proposition to visit us."

" Alayah? What do you think of all this?"

" well.... I think that if anything they would be trying to see what we have to help them if they ally with us and if a threat is posed against Burke we'll have our dragons to defend us and there's no sane man that would attack a island full of dragons and it's riders, without the rest of their fighters but I also think it would be a good way to get new trades and it may be a nice change for Burke, we could set up games to keep everyone entertained and  we could have different villages play against each outher. But if you are worried about them attacking or need to scare them if they get too comfortable I offer my service and will go and fetch mother Frigg from the woods if needed."

Valka and hiccup looked shocked and Eret looked at me confused, " Alayah you would do that for Burke,? If needed?"

" of course without a doubt hiccup though I would have to show Eret her but I would gather her from hiding if needed."

" wait whose mother Frigg?"

" she's a ancient Galaxy dragon we found, she had been living away from the village for a bit you'll probably meet her, if you go with Alayah to get her from hiding, but if that's what you think Alayah then I guess there's my answer, I write letters to the Chiefs and answer them telling them the outhers will join as well, mom me and Eret will tell the village in the finding hall tonight, can you start setting up games and a place to compete along with a place for the Chiefs and the family's to stay after that? You can help her Alayah."

With a nod Hiccup grabs a few pieces of paper and starts to write the letters with Erets help and me and Valka leave them to find a place where the tournaments should be held.
