Jimmy POV
"What do you mean your notice?"Carson asked.
"I'm leaving for another position Mr. Carson. I hope you will give me a good reference. " I simply said.
No one said a word.
"That I will, James." He said business like.
Ivy came running in. "What????"
"Jimmy’s leaving." Thomas reiterated.
"Why?" The love struck Ivy asked.
"The reasons are personal." I answered.
"Awww but Jimmy we need you. I have to tell you something." She whined.
"I'm not changing my mind." I stood firm.
"But Jimmy I really like you." She said quietly.
"I'm sorry Ivy but my heart belongs to someone else." Everyone stared at me and Ivy.
I turned to my room to pack my things. Not knowing that Ivy was right behind. She turned to face me and kissed me. I shoved her off. "What the hell?"
"I love you Jimmy." She attempted to kiss me again.
"Get off! I don't like you!" I shouted.
"Oh but Jimmy you don't mean that, you flirt with me all the time." She cried.
"I love someone else. I love her so much I'm willing to get a different job!" I yelled. "Every day I'm not standing with her I feel dead. I need her and I love her. So I'm sorry but I do not love you." I packed the rest of my belongings into a suitcase and took off my liveries, when she left.
"Are you alright Jimmy? I heard some yelling." Daniel asked behind the door.
"Yes. Come in Daniel." I sighed.
"Why?" He just asked.
"Why what?" I took more of my things in another suitcase.
"Why are you leaving? " He sat on my bed.
"Blodwen." I said.
"I don't understand."
"I can't leave her alone, with no one to protect her. I love her. I couldn't live with myself if something happened to her."
"Thank you. "
"For what?"
"At first I thought you were only playing my sister. That she was just another girl in London, but you've shown me that's not the truth. I can see you love Blodwen now."
"I should be going. I told Blodwen I'd meet her at the..." I forgot he didn't know about the bakery she had."Uh...at the train station."
"Okay. Well, good luck then. Take care of my sister." He walked out of my room.
I looked at the time, I'm going to be late! I throw the suitcases on my back and make a mad dash for the door.
Luckily it was a brighter evening, so the path to the bakery was clear. Though my legs would be tired, I knew that it would be worth it.
Blodwen POV
I was ecstatic, when Jimmy said he was quitting his job in Downton for me, I was shocked. No one ever gave up anything for me before, it felt new, being cared for. He promised to be here by 8 o'clock, it's now 8:30. I almost gave up hope and was walking to bed when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
" Hi. Bloddie." It was Jimmy. I jumped into a warm embrace. " I was only gone for an hour."
" I still missed you." I nuzzled into his shoulder, feeling safe and warm.
"I love you." He held my hands.
" How many times are you going to say that today?" I laughed warmly.
"Until you kiss me." Suddenly he reached for my head and kissed me lightly.
I intensified the kiss and he squeezed my shoulder. I pulled away.
"Bloddie. A man only has so much control."
"Well, I guess I better get to bed then. There's a spare cot in the guest room next to mine."
"Right."There was no way he was sleeping in a guest room.
He followed up the stairs to my tiny flat above the bakery. "There's the bathroom, the other kitchen, my room and the small room over there is the spare room."
He grabbed my hip and whispered in my ear,"Do you really want me to sleep in the spare room tonight?"
The hairs on my neck stood on end when he whispered in my ear. My mind did, but my heart had other ideas. "I-I.....yes? No."I was so confused.
He reached for my cheek and cupped it in his hand, gently kissing my lips. God he smelled good. Little did she know, but these same thoughts were racing through his mind, as well.
"Goodnight Jimmy." I managed to squeak out, trying to regain my self control.
His husky voice gave away his desire to kiss her again. "Goodnight Blodwen."
(The next day)
I woke up early, thinking I would be up before Jimmy. But when I walked down the stairs, I was greeted by the aroma of freshly cooked eggs.
"Good morning Bloddie. " Jimmy snuck behind, kissing my head.
I walked to the spread of food on the table. "Jimmy did you make all this?"
He smiled, smugly. "I did."
"It looks fantastic." I eyed the piece of Sourdough toast.
"Almost as fantastic as you." He inched closer."You know Bloddie, I didn't really want to sleep in guest room last night."
"Oh really? I couldn't tell in the slightest." I sat at the full table.
"Mhm." He turned my chair around and planted a kiss on my lips.
" We should probably eat. You know, before the food gets cold." I kissed him back.
"I'm not really that hungry." He stroked my cheek.
"Well I am." We both ate our breakfast, smiling and laughing the whole time.
(A few weeks pass)
"Bloddie, let's go for a picnic." Jimmy jumped onto my bed, waking me up.
"Jimmy...I'm tired. Let me have my "beauty" sleep."I shoved a pillow at him.
"If you sleep too much you'll be too beautiful then." I was too tired to argue.
"Uh huh. Alright Jimmy. I'll go." I got dressed and we went down the stairs.
It's been a few weeks since Jimmy moved in. I can't say it's been bad, honestly, Jimmy is the most caring person I've ever met. I love him. We had our differences but none of that compared to how we are now.
"I packed the basket already." He looked about to burst. What has gotten into him this morning?
"Jimmy, why are there suitcases next to the basket?" I was puzzled.
"We're going on a holiday! After the picnic, of course. " He swung me into the car he had rented.
We drove for so many hours, I couldn't keep track. Finally we stopped. "Bloddie. Get up we're here." It was still daylight outside. "Surprise!"
"Jimmy? Why are we at my parents' old farm? We drove all the way to Dublin?" I asked.
"Blodwen. You can't drive to Dublin. We drove and got on a boat. You must not remember. We're having our picnic here!" He looked excited.
"But it's private property. "I whispered.
"Oh be quiet, I know the owners." He said, leading me to the apple trees.
He set up the blanket and laid out the food, the sun starting to set. We began eating the picnic food and he opened his mouth."Blodwen? You know how I said I know the owners of this place?"
"Oh no. You don't know them?" I panicked.
"No Bloddie. I'm the owner."
"Very funny Jimmy."
"No. Blodwen I bought the farm."
"You did?"
"I did it for you."
"Jimmy, that's so..." I started crying.
I didn't even notice his change in position.
"Blodwen. I've thought about this for a while now, and there aren't any doubts in my mind that I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
I looked up, teary-eyed. "Blodwen O'Connor, will you marry me? "
"Yes." I nodded."Yes Jimmy. A million times yes!" I kissed him with all I had and fell into his warm embrace.
"I love you Blodwen. "
Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!I hope you enjoyed that fluff. I came up with it randomly last week and was like BAM! Well that happiness probably won't last forever so enjoy it now.Hehe.You've been warned. Thanks everyone. -MoriartysHolmie
