Chapter 12 ~ A Mistake

Alex's POV

"Hi I'm Jener."

Okay we just walked in like a second ago and this man already gives be a bad vibe.

"We heard it was safe here...shelter, food, and... a cure." Rick stresses the cure part. "Yes we have shelter and food! Follow me!"

Okay wheres the cure part? Yes food and shelter are great but a cure is perfect!

We follow Jener through a hallway. The lights are almost blinding but I can't help but notice they flicker once in awhile.

He leads us into an elevator, we all step in. Dale is giving Jener his glare but he's trying to stay strong for Andrea. Oh speaking of Andrea, she's been giving everyone the cold shoulder...which I understand...if my sister died I don't know what I would do.

The elevator came to a stop which jerked me a little. Carl held my back in support. I regained my balance and said thank you.

"Now here we have rooms...the showers work but take it easy, the generators don't last forever." He explains walking down the halls.

I look at Carl and smile.

I run into the first room and drop my bags.

"Yes!" I scream earning laughs from the whole group.

"Let's pick rooms, Carl, Alex, and Sofia get a room together, the rest pick your room buddies and find a room."

Of course Rick and Lori, Dale and Andrea, Daryl and Carol, T-Dog and Jackie, and who ever didn't pick ended up with Shane.

"What you guys wanna do? We have the room all to ourselves!" Sofia asks. "What do you mean 'what do we do'?" Carl questions "Like maybe spin the bottle.."

I freeze at her words.

"Why would you want to play that? We are out numberd, two girls one boy...yeah I don't think so." I say "Yeah Alex is right." Carl agrees. "We should pick who's sleeping where." I state.

We get up and walk around. I look through the first room. There's one bed. I look in the next room. There's one bed also.

I go back to the room we were once in. "There's only two beds...one of us is going to have to share." I say.

Carl's eyes fill with joy.

Umm okay.

"Me and Alex can share." He says.

"What a good idea Carl!" Sofia screams.

Is it bad I'm shocked by this?

"Y-Yeah sure."

Me and Carl walk into our...our?..yeah our room. It feels weird saying that...but I like it..even if we are friends my feelings are still head strong.

"Thanks for sharing." I say putting my bag on the floor "No problem!" He smirks. My cheeks start to burn.

Whenever he does that my goodness! I can't help my self!

He comes closer, I mean really close.

"I've been meaning to tell you something"

Ummm what!

"Okay" I say suspiciously

"I like you..really like you."

Oh my God! Seriously.

"I like you too...a lot actually." We both chuckle. "But.." he begins

Oh great! Here comes the I don't think we can work out thing!

"I think we should try to stay friends...at least for now...when we get this thing...this plague cured...we can be together."

I actually agree with him.

"Its going to hurt but we can do it." He says with hurt in his voice.

"I agree...I understand completely." My voice cracks.

"Alex! The showers!"

I gasp "The showers work remember!" Carl laughs "Yes I remember."

I grab my bag and run out to Sofia.

"Are you ready for the shower of your life time!?" I scream very loudly. I hear Carl laughing his ass off in the other room which makes my smile grow even wider.

"Lets go!" Sofia screams.

We run into the bathroom and lock the door. There are two showers in there so Sofia goes in one and I go in the other.

I turn the handle.

"Oh my gosh!"

The hot water hitting my dehydrated skin makes me feel clean. Its leaving little red spots on my body but I honestly don't care!

I'm taking my time in here!

~~~ 20 minutes later ~~~

Carl's POV

I'm glad me and Alex are going to keep our friendship...I fucking love her though.

I sigh

"What's got you so down?" I pick my head up and see Alex at the door way. Her hair is up in a bun, making her side bangs fall. She's wearing a...a blue cleavage shirt with jeans. She's so fucking perfect!

I hear two voices in my head right now, one telling me she's my best friend and the other telling me to kiss her.

"What?" She asks with a giggle. She must of noticed I was staring. Damn!

"N-Nothing" I lie cause something is definitely bothering me right now! The deep obsession I have with this girl.

Alex's POV

I really feel beautiful right now! Jener told us to dress nicely for dinner so I did.

I just left Carl and I's room with Carl's jaw dropped! He told me to leave so he could get ready...that was 15 minutes ago, he must be trying to look good.

Which is bad cause to me he looks good all the time...Woah! Alex, he's your friend! Best friend!

"Something wrong?" Sofia asks sitting on the sofa next to me. I'm standing. "Nothing.." I respond desperatly.

"How do I look?"

I turn around and see C-

Holy smokes! He has on a plaid blue shirt and jeans...not that fancy but he looks really hot!

"What? Never seen a very attractive guy before?" I giggle. I'm laughing but in the back of my mind I'm thinking what the hell? He told me we should be friends and he's flirting with me!...I'm guilty too cause I might flirt too...its gonna be hard not to.

"Yes, you." He smiles and winks causing me to blush. We hear a knock at the door. "Are you guys ready?" I open the door and Glenns jaw drops "What never seen a very attractive girl before?" Carl laughs and walks out, me and Sofia follow.

We get to a big room, where everyone is laughing, joking around,...being who they once were.

I look around and..um there's a really big clock and it seems to be counting down. I'm not going to let it get to me.

"Hey!" Andrea screams running up to me. Wow this is the first time since Amy died I've seen Andrea this happy. "You look so pretty!" I hear Carl mumble something when Andrea said that, I couldn't make it out but I know it was something about what Andrea said and just the thought of that makes my stomach fill with butterflies.

I take a seat next to Sofia, who already found a seat. Carl sat across from me. Damn! Those eyes I'm going to be looking at all night!

"Dinner is served!" T-Dog brings out plates with a delicious smell filling the air...I know that smell! Its Bake Ziti! My favorite!

"Oh my gosh! Bake Ziti! My fav!" I squeal "Its my favorite too!" Carl screams, I blush.

"Before you eat, I want to show you something." Jener walks to his computers. We get up and look at a giant screen, a...human appears... "This is TS13" He began "You guys came here for a cure...there isn't any..but I can show you something else."

This guy fooled us! And all the other people that came here too!

"This person was infected..it starts in the brain...reactavates some parts."

Okay...this is something I don't want to deal with! This man lead us into a trap. I need answers.

"But they are dead." I step up, everyone's eyes are on me. "Yes...now please enjoy your dinner." He changes the subject.

We all walk back to the table and sit. The mood in this room changed drastically.

I grab my fork and play with my food. Its not that I'm not hungry because I very much am, its just what Jener was talking about makes me nervous about what's to come...is that okay?

Daryl mysteriously left the table a couple minutes ago...I wonder where he went...he's always snooping.

"Hey! I have a little somethin to brighten up your spirits!" Daryl screams holding at least 13 bottles of alcohol in his hands. I look at Carl who smiles brightly. I blush and quickly hide my face.

"Can I have some?" He asks. Lori shakes her head but I'm thinking Rick has a different answer just by looking at him. "What the heck son! Here, you and Alex go over there with it don't get to crazy!" He hands Carl 4 bottles.

I'm not a big fan of drinking...I never had a beer before...but I wasn't planning to when I got older..but the worlds gone to shit, I'm in love with a boy who wants to be friends, I need a drink.

Carl looks at me before getting up and smirks "You know what dad, im heading to my room Alex you coming?" I nod and walk with him to the room.

~2 hours later~

What I'm feeling right now is awesome! I feel alive and free...yes I'm drunk. Carl got us more beer after we drank our 2 Rick had given us.

"Your so beautiful!" Carl compliments. I giggle "Your not so bad yourself." His face burns up and its not because he's drunk too...I mean he is but...he's just blushing which is hot!

I stand up slowly. I grab on to the couch to regain my balance. Carl gets up also.

"C-Can I tell you something?" He stutters "Y-Yeah" He walks up to me and smashes our lips together. Sparks enstently fly. Butterflyes flutter in my stomach. We move in perfect sync like two puzzle pieces meant to fit together.

I finally breath as his lips gently move away from mine.

Even though this was awesome...we decided to be just friends...

Before I could speak Carl takes his hand and places it on my cheek. He begins to kiss me again. The feels come rushing back into my body. He starts walking me back into the hallway. We reach our room.

Oh shit! Whats happening!

He lays me on the bed with his tongue still in my mouth.

I move a way alittle breaking our moment. I sit up and run to the bathroom.

I locked the door and then it came.

I threw up. Damn beer!

I clean myself up and walk out.

I walk into my bedroom and see Carl passed out on the bed.

We made a mistake.

Hiiii!! So no they did not have sex btw...the mistake Alex was talking about at the end was the kiss they shared.
