Chapter 11 ~ CDC

Carl's POV

I walk over to the truck and place the tent with our other supplies.

I chickened out! I was going to tell Alex how I felt...instead I told her she was my best friend. Maybe it is better if we are just friends. 

Alex's POV

"I'm his best friend Sofia...best friend!"  Sofia sits me down on a log "That's a bad thing why?"

Oh yeah, I didn't tell anyone I like--love Carl. I thought it wasn't nessesary.

"Um, I'm just very happy!" I lie. Sofia bought it and smiled.

"Hey Alex, ready to go?" Carl runs up to us "We have seating arrangements, its me, you, my dad, mom,  Sofia and Carol in one car." I nod and stand up brushing the dirt off my shorts.

"You can sit next to me." He winks, I smile and walk with him to the car.

We all pile in. Rick in the drivers, Lori in the passenger, Sofia and Carol in the back along with Carl...as for me...I'm on his lap.

"Sorry didn't have enough room and Carl wanted you in here so you weren't uncomfortable with people you haven't really gotten to know." Rick says  "No, its fine."

I look at Carl who's smiling at me, I smile back. "This is probably gonna be a long drive so get comfy." Sofia says sliding over on her moms lap to give me room to sit.  'Thank you' I mouth to her, she nods.

I slid off Carls lap, he looks at me and smirks. I love when he does that!

I get comfortable.

"So Rick...where are we going?" I question "The CDC, we were told over the radio they have food, water, and shelter...possibly a cure"

"A cure?!" I scream, Carl laughs, I slap his arm play fully. "Yup." Lori says popping  the p.

A cure? Could this be possible...I think I have hope.

I smile at myself and slide down the seat , getting comfortable. I slowly drift off to sleep.

"Alex wake up, we are here!"

I wake up from Carl shaking me. "We're at the CDC?" I ask in a sleepy tone, he smirks and nods.

I get out of the car and run to the doors. The grass was coverd with dead walkers..it was like a battle field!

"Open up!" Rick bangs on the doors

Nothing

"Open!" He yells sounding a little iratated

Nothing.

I'm starting to get worried!

"No ones in there man!" Shane yells

"Guys we gotta go!" I bring the walkers to their attention.

Shane grabs Rick and starts to walk away, with Rick screams no and struggling to get away from Shane.

A blinding light appears as the doors open.  

We all run in and the doors close behind us.

"Hi I'm Jener."
