Chapter 16

A year. A year that Lee has gone. We have kept in contact every day. He kept me up to date with everything that has been going on and I am glad. But for some odd reason, he hasn't called since yesterday. He would tell me if he wasn't able to call. I am getting slightly worried now. I texted him this morning and still no reply. He hasn't been online since 2 days ago. Is he busy? Does he have something more important to do?

All of a sudden, Wolf began to bark and run towards the front door. "Wolf! Shush, you'll wake the neighbours."

I pulled Wolf back and he sat in the hallway. I mumbled to myself as I look at the time. "Who would come at my door at this hour?"

I open it and my jaw drops to the floor. "Surprise!"

I unlock the door and allow him to step inside. As soon as he does, I lock the door and hug him tightly. "I missed you so much Lee"

"I missed you too" He mumbles in my hair.

I then look up at him and kiss him passionately. He happily returns it. But we are interrupted when Wolf jumps up at Lee and me, barking in happiness.

"Hello to you too Wolf!" He chuckles.

"What are you doing here?"

"Why? Can't I visit the one I love?"

"Well you can. But don't you have filming?"

"Nope, not for now!" He grins.

"Really?!"

"Yes, now you have me until something comes up"

"Well, let's go to bed since you are here extremely early in the morning and I am tired" I drag him to my room and flop on the bed. He follows and takes me into his arms, burying his face in my hair.

"You smell nice"

I yawn "Thanks"

"Sleep now Roo" he kisses my head and I fall into a dreamless sleep.

"We are going out to dinner tonight!" Lee decided as he walked into the lounge room with Wolf following.

"Are we now?" I lean back on the couch and look up at him.

"Yes, I already booked for 7 tonight at that restaurant we first ate at" he grinned.

"You still remember?" I ask, shocked.

"Of course, you do to. Right?"

"Yeah, I just didn't think you would remember, you're a very busy person"

"Mmm, I never forget anything"

"Sure, keep believing that" I smile.

"Rooo!" He whines as he plops down next to me and pulling me into his arms.

"It's six thirty now, I should get ready and shower" I go to get up but get pulled down again.

"You can get ready later" he pouts and traps me in his arms.

"Sorry, you know how long I would take"

"Fine, I need to shower too then" he smirks.

"Okay, let me go" he lets me go and I walk to our bedroom to the shower.

"Since you are using our bathroom and we both need a shower, why don't we share" He suggests as he walks up behind me.

"Yeah, no. It would take longer, go use the guest one" I smirk as I shove him out.

"Aww, come on! I won't do anything!" He complains.

"Bye Lee!" I laugh and throw him his towel.

"Fine! Be that way!" He grumbles and shuffles out of the room.

!5 minutes later, I am out of the shower and now choosing something to wear. Lee said to wear causal but not too casual. Geez, some help that is.

I walk out of my room to see Lee walking out with only a towel wrapped around his waist and nothing else.

"Holy shit" I squeal.

"What?" He looks around.

"Put on a shirt for crying out loud!" I cover my eyes and look somewhere else.

"Oh. But it's nothing you haven't seen before" He smirks.

"Shut up" I mumble.

"I have to go past you to get my clothes"

I move to the side and Lee walks past and drops his towel on the floor.

"Oh my god Lee! Seriously?!" I exclaim as he walks around the room naked.

"What? Something wrong?" He asks, looking at himself as if there is a problem.

"Oh no, nothing's wrong with your body, it's just stop walking around naked. Neighbours can probably see through the window"

"Oh, wouldn't want that now would we" He smirks before getting his underwear and clothes.

He grabs the keys and I quickly feed Wolf. We drive off to the restaurant and look at the menu. We both ordered the same food we had here when we first had dinner together. I took note of how quiet this place is, I know its Friday but normally this place would be full or something like that. I looked to Lee who seemed to be looking around and slightly fidgeting.

"Lee" I say. He doesn't seem to hear me. "Lee"

"Huh? What?" he looks at me and smiles.

"You look nervous, you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine love, nothing to worry about"

"Okay"

The food arrived and it was delicious, just like every other time. Lee and I talked a lot about random stuff and movies. The waiter took our empty plates and we waited for dessert. Lee leaned back and looked at me. It looked like he was thinking. I waved my hand in his face and he didn't blink once. I poke his nose and he blinks a few times.

The dessert finally came and it was a bowl of different flavoured ice creams. I bet both Lee's and my eyes lit up. We devoured the ice cream in minutes.

"That was delicious" I say satisfied.

"Mmm, I feel like a ball. I think you have to roll me home love"

"I think both of us have to roll each other home" I laugh.

We both laugh and Lee gets the bill and pays. We walk out to the car and Lee immediately sits into the driver seat. He smirks and pats the seat beside him. I roll my eyes and sit down before shutting the door. As Lee drives, I realise that he wasn't driving home.

"Uh, Lee? Where are we going?"

"Surprise"

"Aww, I want to know"

"Nope, sorry love" He grins.

The sky is dark, save the full moon that lights our path. Lee parks the car and we both walk what I now recognise as the park. The same park we took Wolf for a walk. We walk around the lake, the full moon reflecting off the water which makes it glimmer like millions of diamonds. Lee leads me to a bench the overlooks the lake and stands in front of me.

He takes a big breath and looks at me with a nervous smile. "Lee?"

He places his arms behind his back and rocks on his heels. "I love you Kyla. I really do. And I really want to spend the rest of my life with you. Raise children of our own and get to see you every day. Sorry I haven't said much because words cannot explain how much I love you" Tears are now falling down my face. He gets down on one knee and takes out a small box from behind his back. "Will you please marry me Kyla Roberts?"

"Yes" His beams at me and places the beautiful ring on my finger. He kisses my hand before getting up and picking me up. He spins me around before setting me down and kissing me passionately.
