Chapter 5
While Lee was on his phone, Wolf and I chilled on the couch in the living room playing the PlayStation. I was playing Call of Duty, which equalled me talking to the TV. You know how gamers on YouTube do that ting while playing games, they respond and stuff to the game? Yeah well that's me. It's probably from watching too many gamers. I think I learnt a lot of things from YouTube. Like for example, I never used to swear, but now after watching YouTubers who swear almost every 10 seconds *cough* *cough* Jacksepticeye or PewDiePie, I end up swearing like them. But not every 10 seconds, maybe every 30 seconds or something. But I try not to, it's a bit of a habit.
Lee walks into the living room with a slight frown on his face. I pause the game and put my controller down to look at him.
"Problems?" I ask him.
"Well I'm not sure if you would call it a problem, I think." He says with uncertainty.
"Well shoot" I usher him.
"Okay, well there has been a gas leak coming from one of the hotels close by mine and people in the area have to evacuate and find other hotels. My manager told me he was looking for another hotel for me and said they have all been booked out, well the ones in the city anyway. So he said since I'm here, you could maybe help me find like a hotel or even a motel." He told me.
I thought for a while and then an idea popped into my head. "I have an idea! What if you stayed here, at my house?"
"Oh no, I couldn't." he shook his head.
"Come on, it's fine. I wouldn't mind, and I would like some company and I think Wolf would like you to stay too." Upon hearing his name, Wolf's ears perked up and saw Lee, as if knowing what we were talking about. He began wagging his tail and sticking his tongue out. "See, even Wolf agrees with me"
"Well if you don't mind, then I'll call my manager to send over my things. But I just need your address to he can send it over."
I nod and unlock my phone and click on my notes. I type in the address and give my phone to Lee. He nods in thanks and walks off to call his manager. For a few minutes, I stare at the ground in thought. I just allowed Lee Pace to stay at my house for 6 months. I wanted to text my friends to tell the news but 1, I gave my phone to Lee and 2, I was afraid they would tell the whole world. So I kept quiet for now.
Recovering from my shock, thanks to Wolf who laid his head in my lap to sleep, I picked up my remote and played COD again, but still with the thought at the back of my head, which was why did I invite let him stay here?

Lee returns with a grin on his face. I pause the game and look up at him.
"I'm guessing you got good news because of your huge grin?" he nods rapidly, still with that big grin of his. "And?"
"My manager said it's okay to stay here and that he will deliver my things tomorrow morning"
"Sounds cool, then I should show you where you are staying, huh?" he nods and I nudge Wolf off me.
I give Lee a quick tour around the house, showing him the bedrooms, his bathroom, the laundry stuff and where all the many doors I have led to. His bedroom was directly opposite mine so if he needed anything, he knew where my room was which was convenient. We then walked back to the couch and we played the multiplayer version of COD for the rest of the afternoon.

Evening arrive and Lee told me he would cook us dinner as a thank you for letting him stay over. At first I didn't want him too but then he insisted. I was also insisting I would so in the end we came up with a challenge. The challenge came up when we played COD. The aim was who could kill the most enemies within 10 minutes and of course, Lee won. So now, I'm here playing with Wolf while Lee cooks us a surprise dinner. From the smell wafting through the air, I can already tell the food would be amazing.
It was about an hour later when Lee told me dinner was ready. I walked into the dining area to see Lee grinning at his work of art. Dinner tonight consisted of pesto pasta, Caesar salad and roasted chicken. I was actually very impressed, and kind of embarrassing on how he is a much better cook than me.
"Wow, this is amazing Lee" I exclaim after tasting the food. "You cook way better than me!"
"Why thank you Kyla, now are you grateful of letting me cook tonight?" he asks with a smirk.
"Yes, totally" I say before eating more.
Dinner was mainly talking about ourselves and our likes and dislikes, basically trying to get to know each other better.
"What do you normally do on Friday nights?" he asks me.
"Well um, I normally take Wolf on a walk in the park which is a 5 minute walk from here."
"Are you going tonight? Because I would love to take a walk!" he asks with excitement.
"Yeah, we are and I think Wolf would love you to come along"
"Tell me more about Wolf"
"Well, he's a husky and I've had him ever since he was a puppy." I can still remember him being so small, he was slightly bigger than my hand.
"Really? That's why you guys have such a bond, ay?"
"Yeah" I look towards Wolf who was wolfing down his dinner. (No pun intended)
We finished the rest of our dinner in silence. But it wasn't in an awkward silence like the first time, it was more of a comfortable silence. But every now and then, I would look at Lee and when he looks up, I turn away. Then he would do the same, he would look at me and then when I look up, he turns away like nothing happened.

We both dumped the dishes in the sink and I quickly ran to get a jacket on before getting Wolf's leash. I do not trust Wolf without a leash because as soon as he sees something that catches his interest, he would bolt off and that has happened a few times. As soon as Wolf sees the leash in my hands, he bolts.
"Wolf! Come back here!" I call out to him.
I chase him around for a good 5 minutes before Lee comes to the rescue after coming out of the bathroom. He distracts Wolf whilst I put the leash on.
"Thank God you came on time, or else we wouldn't have gone on the walk since we have been running laps around the house." I breathe out.
"Haha, no worries. Shall we?" he holds out his hand and I take it, with Wolf's leash in my other hand.
We walk out the door and walk down the street, hand in hand, enjoying the comfortable silence surrounding them. Wolf, being his hyper self, bounds around us, attempting to pull me along to walk faster. I have to use almost all my strength to slow him down. In the end, Lee ended up holding the leash as he was stronger than me. Much stronger.
We eventually reached the park, normally it would take 5 minutes but because Lee was here, Wolf wanted to show him everything. So it took us 15 minutes to reach the park. Lee looked at our surroundings in amazement. I loved walking the park just as the sun starts setting because as the light reflects off the water, it gives it a beautiful glimmer that is unexplainable. But when there is a full moon over the lake, it leaves you breathless.
We walked around the lake a few times. As we were heading back home, I felt like the others walking past gave us the strangest looks, probably overhearing my conversation with Lee. But I feel like the topic we are talking about is relevant to everybody, well most people anyway. It just came out of nowhere.
"Don't you think that having swear words are stupid? I mean come on, they are basically words that mean different things like, um... Shit means poop right?" I suddenly ask Lee out of nowhere.
"Where did this come from?" he asks with an amused smile.
"I don't know, now answer my question" I demanded jokingly.
"Well I guess you are right about that, I don't see why we think they are bad words. English is weird I must say." He said rather thoughtfully.
"I would love to list off all the swear words that mean different things but a couple are, um... yeah" I say rather awkwardly.
"Go on" he smirks.
"Your just trying to make me say it, aren't you" I glare up at him.
He gave me the look as if saying 'no shit Sherlock'
The rest of the walk home was Lee mainly teasing me on how I get awkward around certain subjects that are perfectly normal for humans. *cough cough* baby making *cough cough* He laughed at me for the rest of the night and making me feel awkward and kind of uncomfortable. I may have been teased but it was all just for fun, and I had to admit one thing. I loved to hear Lee's laugh. So I guess there was an upside to his teasing. Isn't there an upside to every downside? Eh, I don't know.
