Chapter 2

TOMORROW I WILL SEE LEE PACE! I scream in my head. The week has been full of me working 3 days in JB Hi-Fi and the rest spent with either me walking Wolf in the park or hanging out with my friends. Last Friday, I was rushing home to book tickets. But this Friday is more relaxed and I am able to pass Macca's and buy a frozen coke and large chips. The cool air blows past my dark brown hair as I drive back home, the radio blasting music through the speakers. This is the type of thing I like to do after work.

I arrive home and unlock the door to be greeted with another take down to the ground.

"Wolf!" I laugh as he likes my face over and over again.

I get up off the ground, lock the door and toss all my stuff on the couch. I flop next to it and turn on the TV with Wolf lying on my feet. I flick through the channels, occasionally trying to stop Wolf from stealing my chips. About an hour later, I get up and go to shower, leaving Wolf and my chips alone. Which was probably a bad thing because when I get back, my chips are gone and Wolf looks at me with a guilty look.

I sigh and shake my head. Note to self: NEVER leave chips alone with Wolf. I go into my room and check I have everything for tomorrow. Phone? Check. Photos? Check. Drawing book? Check. Reading book? Check. Purse? Check. Tissues? Check. Hey! I need tissues okay? Its winter and I get the sniffles. I smile to myself and zip up my bag. I am so ready for this tomorrow. I hop into bed and try to sleep but failing miserably. I think I am too excited to sleep.

"WOLF!" I call out to my husky who arrives within seconds after I call him. He jumps up on the bed and lays next to me. I toss and turn a few more times for the next hour before finally sleeping.

I wake up at 6 in the morning. Wow! I never wake this early. But that's probably because I am so excited right now! I take a quick shower to freshen up a little before grabbing my cereal out of the kitchen and eat quite quickly. I look at the time and it shows 7 am. I think, Comic Con starts at around 9, it takes me almost an hour to get to the city and by the time I get there, there would be a lot of people waiting to go in.

I decide to leave the house in around 10 to 15 minutes from now to be there early. I brush my teeth and get dressed. I change into a t-shirt that says "I'm not short, I'm a Hobbit". It was given to me by Molly and Keely because I am shorter than them. I also pull on a light blue pair of denim jeans. I grab my black handbag and grab my black and white jacket. I give Wolf a quick goodbye hug before walking into my garage and unlocking the car. I press the top button of the remote to open the garage door and I get into the car, tossing my bag in the back. I start up the car and drive out, closing the garage and heading off to Comic Con.

It's about an hour later when I park in the city. More specifically, Crown Casino. I grab my stuff and lock the car and head off to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre where the convention is held. Waling there, I see so many people in awesome cosplays that look so realistic. I see a few hobbits, elves, Orcs, Ironman, Superman, Batman, zombies and many more. I arrive at the entrance of the Centre and I feel like I am going to faint. Lee Pace is going to be here, I thought. I turn around and take a selfie with the entrance in the background with a few people walking in with their awesome cosplay. I send the photo to the group chat before heading inside.

I give my ticket to one of the staff and they allow me through, but not before giving me a gift bag full of vouchers and souvenirs. I look around me in awe. There are so many comic book stores and fan art stores. I walk for a bit, exploring the shops and taking photos of the displays. I see this one store that had weapons from the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies and I think my jaw dropped to the ground. I went straight over to it and looked at all the weapons. I picked out Orcrist and Sting, they were so awesome.

Though they were foam, they were quite heavy. I also found Anduril and Legolas' white knives. I even found Gandalf's staff and sword, Glamdring! Oh how I would love to get both of them and go to people, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" Looking through the box of swords a bit more I find what I think is the best thing ever. It was Thranduil's sword. I quickly grab it and hold it out in front of me. I look at it and decide I should buy it as it may be the only time I can go to Comic Con and find something like this.

I go to the shop owner and pay her for the sword before leaving and walk over to other stores. I see up ahead the booths of where photos and autographs are taken. I fast walk up to it and look at the time table to see that Lee won't be here until 12 in the afternoon. I have got a couple of hours until then so I do a bit more exploring. During that time, I bought a few shirts, some comic books, other souvenirs and of course, food. I am currently sitting in the quietest corner of the café where there is barely anyone here.

I use this time to take out my drawing book and draw characters from the hobbit for fun. I was in the middle of drawing Thranduil when I saw a shadow looming over me. I stop for a second and look up to the owner of the shadow. Ok, first thing I can see is that he is tall. Secondly, he is wearing a black pair of sunnies. Who wears sunnies indoors? And finally, he has a black baseball hat. Wait... Black sunnies? Black baseball hat? No, it cannot! Can it?

"You are very talented" The guys says to me, looking down at the Thranduil drawing. That voice!

"Oh, um thanks" I stutter, I think I am really red right now.

"May I sit here?" he asks.

"Yea... sure" I watch as he takes a seat opposite me and takes off his hat and sunnies.

My mind literally explodes! I was right! It was him.

"Aren't you supposed to be at the booth soon?" I ask him, trying to calm my beating heart that I feel is about to rip out of my chest.

"Yeah I am, but I needed to be in a quiet area for a while before heading out to the crowd of fans."

"Well, um. Not to sound rude but why did you sit here?"

"It is fine, it was the only place where no one is and I saw you drawing so I was curious."

"Oh, ok." We sit in an awkward silence for a while.

"So, you like Thranduil?" he questions, pointing to my drawing.

"Oh, yeah. He's one of my favourite characters in the Hobbit" I mumble, staring down at my drink to hide my red face.

"May I see?" he asks.

I nod and pass him my drawing book which he takes and looks at all my drawings in awe.

"You must really be a big fan of the Hobbit, huh?" he says after a while.

"Yeah, my parents used to read me the book every year when I was younger." I tell him.

Lee gives me a heart melting smile and looks behind me. "Well, looks like I have to go, my manager is waving me over"

"Well it was nice to meet you Lee" I say, a little disappointed that he was leaving.

"Looks like I am going to be thrown into the crowd of fans, mainly fangirls" he sighs and gets up. "Bye"

"Bye" I wave. He walks off to his manager and I turn around and take out my phone. Just as I was about to unlock it, I get a tap on my shoulder. I turn to see Lee again.

"Back again so soon?" I joke.

"Ha yeah um, are you doing anything after this?" he asks, scratching the back of his neck.

"Uh, no. Why?"

"Well maybe we can continue our chat over coffee or dinner?"

"Yeah, sure. Where do you wanna meet?"

"I'll text you, I just need your number." He tells me.

I give him my number and he smiles at me before leaving. HOLY SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA! I JUST GAVE MY NUMBER TO LEE PACE! Then I realised something, I forgot to tell him my name! Crap. I open my drawing book to my Thranduil drawing and my eyes are drawn to the signature at the bottom left corner. Lee just signed my drawing! I mentally screamed for a good minute before I get mentally slapped to shut up.

I got up from the table and packed up before ordering a coffee and walking out to the booths. I see Lee taking pictures with fans and signing their pictures of his from his past and present movies and TV shows. He looks up for a moment and sees me. He gives me a small smile and wave before signing the girl's picture frame of him from The Fall.

I look at my phone and see that I got a spam of messages from a couple of friends of mine. I look through them but decide to answer them later. I look at the time to see that I still have a while before Lee finishes so I down the rest of my coffee and walk around to the stores I haven't been to yet.

Two hours later of shopping, holding two bags in each hand, I sit back down in the quiet corner of the café for another coffee. I text my friends, telling them all about my day so far, leaving out the part about Lee. I don't want them to spread anything false which happened the last time I hung out with a guy who every girl liked. But I only liked him as a friend and he liked me as a friend.

I suddenly get a text from an unknown number. I look at it and realise who it is.

Unknown: Hey, I'm finished for the day! So I'll meet you in the corner of the café. Is that fine?

Me: Hey Lee, Sure. I'm already here

Unknown: See you there then! :)
