Chapter 1: First Encounters
13:16, 26 February 2025
The lights of Seoul's Grand Arena shone bright, illuminating the stage where idols had made history. Tonight, the annual K-Music Awards were in full swing, and the energy was electric. Fans screamed as their favorite artists arrived, flashes of cameras capturing every second.
Among the night's most anticipated attendees was Lee Heeseung, the talented center of ENHYPEN, and Karina, the striking leader of AESPA. Both had earned their place at the top, their names constantly in headlines, their faces gracing every magazine cover. But there was one thing that fans and media alike had noticed over the years-whenever they were in the same space, tension followed.
They weren't officially rivals, but their interactions-brief, sharp, and laced with something unspoken-fueled endless speculation. Were they simply competitive? Or was there something more?
As ENHYPEN and AESPA arrived at the venue, Heeseung adjusted his suit, his sharp features unreadable. Karina, in an elegant black dress, exuded confidence as she walked past the red carpet, offering polite waves.
Then, it happened.
The backstage corridor was tight, bustling with staff members and fellow artists. Heeseung turned a corner, eyes focused on his phone, just as Karina stepped forward, scanning the event schedule in her hand. Collision.
She gasped softly as Heeseung's shoulder bumped hers, causing her to momentarily lose balance. His reflexes were quick-his hand caught her arm, steadying her before she could stumble.
For a second, silence.
Karina looked up, eyes meeting his. Up close, Heeseung's gaze was intense, a mixture of surprise and something else-something unreadable.
"You should watch where you're going," she muttered, regaining her composure.
Heeseung raised an eyebrow. "Funny. I was about to say the same thing."
Karina scoffed, stepping back as she adjusted the bracelet on her wrist. "Let's not make this a habit, Lee Heeseung."
He smirked slightly, tilting his head. "I wouldn't dream of it, Yoo Karina."
And just like that, they walked in opposite directions, both pretending the moment had never happened.
But deep down, they both knew. This wasn't the end-only the beginning.
