Part 23
17:56, 15 July 2013“I love it,” I whispered to him. His shoulders relaxed and he smiled back at me. He pulled me over onto the blanket. I kicked my shoes off and took a seat. Louis sat down across from me and started filling up my plate for me.
He was so cute to watch, he looked like a normal guy, like a guy that was only capable of good. It was hard to believe he was the same guy that beat that man up on Friday. He looked up at me and I smiled at him.
“What are you staring at?” he asked with a smirk as he began filling his plate up with food.
“The best boyfriend in the world,” I stated. He let out a cute laugh.
“I try,” he said innocently shooting me a quick smile. He looked around as if checking to make sure everything was perfect. “Oh I almost forgot,” he said getting back up. I watched him walk over to the deck and pull over a small radio that was attached to a long extension cord. He placed it beside us then pulled out his Ipod and plugged it to the radio. He hit play and music started playing on low. I smiled at him my heart bursting with happiness in my chest.
“This is perfect Louis,” I told him.
“I told you I’d make it up to you,” he said sweetly. I chuckled a bit.
“I think this covers you for Friday plus the next stupid thing you do,” I teased. He laughed picking up his fork and poked at his food. I started to eat some of the thing he put on my plate and sighed happily looking around his yard. He had a really nice home. I liked coming to his house, we didn’t have to hide here. Besides the fact that Louis’ mom clearly has given up and stopped paying a lot of attention to him they accepted us.
“You look really beautiful today,” Louis told me softly. I turned my head and smiled at him shyly.
“Thanks, I only dress this way for you,” I said looking down at myself. He smiled more.
“Good cause if you start dressing pretty for some other guy we’re going to have a problem,” he teased. I laughed a bit.
“I dunno, Harry’s kind cute. Wouldn’t mind him checking me out,” I teased. Louis’ face fell with worry as he dropped his fork.
“You like Harry?” he asked his voice dripping with sadness.
“It was a joke Louis, of course not,” I said gently reaching over and placed my hand on his lap. “I didn’t mean it honestly,” I told him.
“Kay, don’t scare me like that,” he said. I smiled a bit.
“Is Louis Tomlinson insecure about something?” I asked curiously with a smirk.
“What? No,” he said looking away. I smiled a bit tilting my head to the side. He looked back at me and sighed as he shrugged his shoulders. “I dunno, I just care about you and don’t wanna lose you,” he said.
“Hey,” I said softly reaching over and rubbed his knee again. “I’m not going anywhere, it was a joke. Trust me I could never date Harry, you’re a lot more tame than he is,” I explained. He smiled a bit.
“He’s always been that way, he was a trouble maker right from the start,” Louis said going back to his food. I nodded slowly taking a few bites.
“What’s your story?” I asked curiously. He looked up at me for a moment. “Why did you rebel and get all tattooed up and stop following rules?” I asked. Louis let out a small sigh as he shoved a fork full of food in his mouth. He chewed it slowly looking out to his yard. He swallowed and looked back at me.
“My parents divorced when I was about 7,” he stated. I put down my fork nodding giving him my full attention. “I didn’t like that they split and being so young I was confused by it. My mum found a new guy but I didn’t like him. By 12 I started developing an attitude that I only ever took out on him. At 13 I ran away from home only to be brought back by the police. My step dad always tried to discipline me but it only ever made me madder because he’s not my dad and I didn’t feel like he had a right to tell me what to do,” he explained. I nodded again watching him closely.
“He left my mom was I was 15 and my mom blamed me. She like practically disowned me so I rebelled. I guess in a sad way the things I do I only do to get her attention but she never gives me anything. The only time she actually talks to me is when you’re around and I think it’s because she doesn’t want me corrupting you,” he explained dropping his head.
“What if you talked to your mom? Clear the air and get everything out of your system,” I suggested. She shook his head.
“I can’t I’ve tried. We just end up screaming at each other and then that scares my sisters. After awhile I got so used to acting out that it’s like it became who I am. I know I can get out of control but it’s only because I’ve been doing it for so long that I didn’t think it was worth changing,” he explained.
“It’s never too late to change your life,” I told him. He nodded slowly.
“You know I showed her my report card. I tried to talk to her and tell her that I didn’t want things to be the way they were but she just blew it off and asked me who I cheated off of,” he said rolling his eyes. I frowned. He sighed deeply and leaned back on his hands looking down at himself.
I got up and moved over beside him. I placed my head on his shoulder and nuzzled closer to him while one of my hands rest of his chest and the other supported myself up and softly stroked his hand that was supporting him.
“You know you’re the first person I told all this too,” he said quietly. I tilted my head up to look at him. “No one’s ever bothered to ask me how I feel or why I act the way I do. You’re the only one whose taken time to get to know me, the real me,” he said turning his head. I smiled as we stared into each other’s eyes. “It still amazes me that I haven’t scared you off yet,” he said looking at me with confusion but gratefulness in his eyes.
I shrugged a bit looking down.
“That’s because I love-“ I paused stopping in the middle of my sentence as fear went through me. Shit. I told myself I wouldn’t say it, why, why did I say it. I cleared my throat, no backing out now. “I love you,” I said nervously and looked up into his eyes.
I had such a hard time reading the emotion in his amazing blue eyes. He watched me closely and I waited patiently to hear his response.
“You love me?” he asked sounding shocked. I bit my lip nervously and nodded my head slowly. My heart was racing so fast.
“I know it hasn’t been very long but I dunno. You make me happy, you make me want to get up in the morning and you give me faith that everyone has good in them. I love seeing you smile, especially at me and I love when you make me laugh and even though when you fight it scares me I love knowing that I can count on you to protect me,” I explained. Louis again just stared at me in shock. Almost like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing, or maybe he didn’t want to hear what I was saying, maybe I said it too soon. Maybe I’m an idiot that was about to get her heart broken.
“I’ll always protect you,” he spoke gently turning his body to me and took my hand in his. “I want to be there for you, I care about you so much because I love you too,” he told me and my heart officially melted with happiness.
“Really?” I asked a smile spreading across my face. He nodded smiling back.
“Of course, I mean look at what I put together today. I’ve never done this for any other girl because none of them meant anything to me. I love you and you’re the only girl I’ll ever need,” he told me and I could see the sincerity in his eyes. I smiled more if that were even possible. Louis gave me another cute smile before raising his hand to my neck and pulling me in for a long passionate kiss. A kiss that made me feel like I belonged, a kiss that showed me that I was his and that’s how it was supposed to be.
The rest of the day was spent doing absolutely nothing but enjoying each other’s company. I could never get bored of him, everything he does and everything he says captivated me in a way no other person has been able to.
I was hung on his everywhere and everything he said made me learn and understand him more and more. He was seriously strongly misunderstood but I was pretty sure that no other person was ever privileged enough to see this side of him.
It was starting to get later and I helped Louis put away all the things we used for the picnic. I helped him with the dishes then check my phone after drying my hands.
It was 8 o’clock now but I still didn’t want to leave.
“My mom seems to have gone out, which means I’m in charge of my sisters so we can’t go anywhere,” he explained coming back into the kitchen.
“That’s fine.”
“I set them up with a movie in their room though so we can do whatever we want,” he said walking up to me and placing his hands on my waist. I nodded raising my hands around his neck.
“Did you have anything in mind?” I asked curiously. He gave me a smirk and leaned his head down pressing his lips against mine softly. I kissed him back at first but quickly caught on to what he was suggesting. “Louis,” I said with a giggle pulling away.
“What?’ he asked with a grin and kissed my neck.
“We’re not even alone,” I pointed out nervously.
“They’re memorized by the movie so it’s basically like we are alone,” he said as he placed a few small kissed up my neck. “We could have some fun,” he said seductively before pressing his lips against mine
