Chapter 12

Since today was the lock down, Billy and I were getting the equipment ready as the others went around the tavern. The guts all wanted to know that I was okay. They were all really sweet to me. I was sure that Zak was going to say something, but he was pretty quiet.

Once all the equipment was set up in the office of the tavern, Billy and I hung around and looked at all of it. He told me what each of them did. I was really excited for tonight. There were so many stories about people being touched. I was ready for this and so were the others.

"So what have you done, with your past jobs?" Billy asked me. I looked at him and smiled.

"I have usually just been a librarian. It was something that never really changed, no matter what town I went to." I told him. He understood what I meant.

"Why did you move around so much?" He asked then. I sighed and looked at the door. I didn't see any reason to be afraid of Billy. He wouldn't hurt me.

"Because I had to. There was someone in my past life that I just can't be around. He-he wasn't really a good guy." I confessed to Billy. He then moved his chair to me and grabbed my hands.

"Hey, you are okay, now." He told me. I chuckled and nodded my head.

"I feel like you guys just want me to write a book out for y'all. That would make things a lot easier, just so that I don't have to tell it multiple times." I told him.

"Don't worry about that. We tell each other everything that you are cool with." He told me. I knew that they would talk about me. I then leaned in closer to Billy.

"What do they think of me, then?" I asked him. He smiled at me and leaned in closer.

"Aaron thinks that you are a little sister to him. He likes the idea of having you around too. Nick was a little cautious of you, at first. But now he thinks that having you around is good. He thinks that it will make the evidence better. Zak, Zak is something else." He told me. I was just happy with the fact that Nick didn't hate me.

"What does Zak think?" I asked him.

"He thinks that you are a sweetheart. I think that he wants you. I know that he can't stop looking at you." He told me. I smiled at that thought. I would catch him looking at me once in a while.

"Thanks." I told him. Billy and I then got up and went to the others.

They were talking about how they were going to do this lockdown. I stood and stayed next to Billy. Zak was really trying to look at the others, but he would sneak one at me once in a while. I thought that this is just really sweet of him. Leonard the entire time was just talking about how they should change what they are doing. 

"Instaed of splitting up in the middle, do it at the begining. You will get something, then." I told them. Nick looked at me. I could tell that what I do was unnerving to him, but he wasn't reacting as much as he used to. 

"Why?" Aaron asked me. 

"Because it will give them something to get used to. Plus, I promise that you will get something." I told them. Leonard kept telling me that it would be Nick that would be have the hard time. 

"Which one of us, though?" Zak asked. 

"Nick." I told them. Nick got up and nodded his head. 

"At least we know who." He said. He then walked out of the building. I sighed and followed him. 

"Nick, I am sorry. I just wanted to let you know before something would happen." I told him. He then looked at me. 

"What is going to happen?" He asked. 

"I think that you will be touched and you might get something visual. They are talking about what they are going to do." I told him. He seemed to understand. I then touched his arm. This would be the first time that I ever touched him voluntarily. He looked at me with wide eyes. 

"I promise that you won't get hurt. I won't let that happen to you." I told him. He then looked at me with a weird expression. 

"What do you mean?" He asked me. 

"I am one of those people that would do anything for their friends and not expect anything back. Just trust me." I told him. He nodded his head and we went back in the tavern I was glad that I was able to calm him down. 

As the day went on, I found myself with Zak a lot. Leonard was always able to keep me on my toes. He kept telling me that there were some that heard Nick and me. I looked around to see that they were going to test me in that. This was going to be bad. I might have to make a guest expirence. 

The lockdown began and they locked us in. I hated that they would lock us in. That made me so upset. What if I needed out? How was that going to happen? Well it wouldn't. Being locked in, was making me really upset. I started shaking as they were getting ready.

"Are you okay?" Billy said. He would be the first one to pick up on it.

"I will be. I just need to relax." I told him. I then got up and I started to pace the room.

"Is this you? Or something else?" He asked me. I looked at him. Zak, Aaron, and Nick were already getting some careas ready.

"This is me. Just let me have a moment." I told him. He sighed and picked the walkie-talkie up.

"Hey, Zak, you need to get in here." Billy said through it. I looked at him with wide eyes. We heard no reply, but I heard him come to the door. When he opened it, he looked concerned. 

"What is it?" He saked Billy as he looked at me. 

"She is having a panic attack. I just thought that you would be able to help her." He said to him as if he was filling him in on what was going on.

"Why? What is wrong?" He asked me as he grabbed my shoulders gently. I looked into his eyes.

"I just am, okay?" i asked him. He sighed and let go of me. He then walked to the camera that was in the room and he turend it off.

"Please tell me." Zak said as he came back to me. I knew that I would be able to say it to Billy too.

"I used to be locked in a basement. I am just freaking out over this right now. I have no way to get out and it is scaring me and bringing back bad memories." I confessed to them. I saw Billy close his eyes and bow his head. Zak said nothing, but he pulled me into a hug.

"You are okay in here, though. You are with us and we won't let anything hurt you." He told me as he held me. I could feel his voice vibrate thrhough his chest.

"Thanks, you should get back. I will be fine." I told him. He let go of me and looked at Billy.

"Please tell me if you feel like you need to get out. I will let someone know that you need out." Zak told me. He then left me there. I looked at Billy and he pulled a chair next to him. I turned the camera back on, before I went to sit next to him.

The guys started to do the lockdown. They took my advice and split up in the begining. Nick went to where they kept the beer, Zak went to the top floor, and Aaron stayed in the main bar area. I could hear them all ask their questions. Billy held my hand under the desk. He could tell that I was stressed. Leonard was with Nick. He would tell me when something was going to happen to him.

Nothing happened when they were split up. There were some orbs and a couple of noises, but nothing that would cause me to get out of that room. When they met back up, they went to the top floor. That was when Leonard came up to me.

"Okay, we are now in business. They want to posses Nick. I think that they want to hurt all of them through him." Leonard informed me. I got up and I took my necklaces off.

"Billy, please try to cut this out. Tell Zak that he needs to make something up for why I came up here." I told him. Billy wrote down that note. I then grabbed a camera and walked out of the room.

"You  took off your necklaces? What was that for? Are you crazy?" Leonard yelled at me. I sighed and ran up the stairs.

"I did. I have to do something." I told him. I then went into the room where they were.

"What are you doing in here?" Zak asked me. He walked to me and touched my hand.

"I am here doing my thing." I told him quietly. I could see that he was a little confused through my screen. I then moved closer to him and I grabbed the top of his shirt. 

"Nick is going to get possessed. I am here to stop it." I whispered to him. He pulled away from me.

"Okay, let me make an introduction." He told me. He then stood next to me and stayed silent for a second.

"Alright, we now have Lea helping us, right now. She will be walking around with us." He said officially. There was something that changed in his voice when he talked for the show and not to a person.

We then went back around the tavern. We were getting a lot of noises. Leonard actually caused one. He caught his tail in the door and opened it a little too hard. I let the guys freak out over it. I acted like I was shocked too. I wanted to give them some stuff that they could use.

Then I saw what was going to possess Nick. I sighed when I saw that it was an Union soldier. That wasn't going to be good. I then walked over to it. I made it in time. He was stretching his arm out to take hold of Nick, but he got me instead. It was easier for him to have me anyway, since I was already open to this stuff.

"Okay, let's keep moving." Zak said. I could feel myself loosing control. It was like I took the passenger seat in my own body. It was really weird. I then felt myself getting really angry as they went into this one room.

"NO! Not in there. Get out." I said threateningly. The spirit that was controling me, wasn't happy with them. We then walked to them.

"Why? What's wrong with this room?" Aaron asked me. He still couldn't figure out that it really wasn't me.

"GET OUT?! Did ya' not understand what I said?" I yelled at them. THere was an accent and Nick caught on. He grabbed Zak's arm and pulled him out of the room. Aaron followed, so then it was just me and the spirit. He was getting to angry. I could feel so much rage in him.

"Lea, can you come here?" Zak asked me softly. I wanted to go, but the spirit was in control.

"You are such a stupid man. Lea isn't in at the moment. Leave a message for later." The spirit said. There was no door, or he would have shut it. We just stood there. I am sure that it looked really weird on their cameras. I felt how wide my eyes were.

"I told you that she was being possessed." Nick said to him. I was glad that he was able to put the peices together. I then started to feel more rage when Nick spoke.

"You need to shut the hell up." I said to him. This was getting out of hand. I needed to get back in control. I pushed myself forward. I knew that this was going to drain me, but I needed to tell them something.

"Guys, there is something wrong. I need to be alone for a second." I said to them. I then walked down a flight of stairs. I could hear them following me. Then the soldier got control again.

"Lea, wait, are you okay?" Zak asked as he found me.

"This is too cute. I wonder how many times you are going to make her feel threatened." The soldier said. He was now getting in my head. He was able to see what I saw.

"You know, she is a lot more hurt than you think. She is physically hurt." He said to him. No, he wasn't going to tell him. I then started to plead with him to stop.

"What are you talking about?" Zak asked me.

"She wants me to stop talking. This is too precious. She is afraid that you will know and that you will be disgusted." The soldier said through me.

"Release her." Nick then said to me. I could only see red, once I looked at Nick. I heard the camera drop. I wasn't sure where I was going, but I was walking. When I regained my sight, I saw that I was in the basement. They guys had followed me down there.

I was so tired from everything. I knew that I was talking on my way down, but I don't remember what I was saying. Then he left my body. I saw him smile at me and kiss my forehead. Then I collapsed to the floor.

As I came back to, I felt really embarrassed. I opened my eyes and I felt that I was on a table in the nerve center. I rolled my head to the side and I saw that Zak was sitting next to me and looking at the ground.

"I am so sorry about that." I told him. All the guys then looked at me.

"What are you talking about?" Aaron said as he came over to me.

"I am sorry that I passed out. I didn't think that I would." I told them. Nick smiled at me and I sat up.

"You are fine, really." Zak told me. I knew that I shouldn't have done that.

"We should go finish, now that you are okay." Nick suggested. I nodded my head and Zak looked at me one more time.

"Alright, we have some more time. Stay in here, Lea." Zak told me. As they left, I got off of the table. I felt that I had my necklaces back on me.

"Nick put them on you." Billy told me as I looked at them.

"Why did you do it?" He then asked. I sat nxt to him and I started to watch the moniters.

"Because he has a family. I don't. I am okay with it, if it destorys my soul. Each time a person gets possessed, a part of their soul ends up breaking a little." I explained to him.

"How many times?" He asked me. I sighed and looked at him. He was looking at the moniters. I looked back at them as the guys walked into the basement.

"A couple. Nothing to be worried about though." I told him. It had been a lot of times. Each time hurt. I knew that I was going to be sleeping for a long time, once we got to the hotel.

We watched the cameras for a couple of more hours. We made notes when we heard something or saw something. Billy was glad that he had some help with this job. I was just glad that I wasn't with Zak. He was yelling and trying to stir stuff up. It was doing what he wanted, but it wasn't a good idea.

Once we had everything in the van, we went back to the hotel. We locked the van and made sure that it was safe, before we went in. Aaron and Nick carried the footage in. Billy and Zak had the cameras. Meanwhile, I took the notes and the recorders. We were just taking the really valuable stuff to our rooms. Zak and I went to our room immediately.

As we got in, We set the stuff on the table that was there. I then took my jacket off and laid it at the foot of my bed.

"Are you okay?" Zak asked me as he started to get in his bed.

"Yeah, just tired. Why do you ask?" I asked him. He laid in his bed and I looked at him.

"While you were possessed, you said some things. I was just wondering if you were okay." He told me. I knew that he wanted to get to sleep.

"Those things that were said, weren't by me." I told him. I then sat on my bed.

"We will talk about it as soon as we wake up. Come sleep with me." Zak said. I looked at him with a strange look on my face.

"What? You know that we both sleep better knowing that someone is in the bed with us." He told me. I couldn't argue with that. I did feel safe sleeping in the bed with him. I crawled in bed with him and he held my hand.

"You won't ever get hurt with me and I won't ever let you get hurt." He told me quietly.

"You can't stop me from getting hurt. That is my life. That is all that I have ever had happen to me. That is me. I just hope that you can help me through it." I told him. Zak gave me a sleepy smile.

"Okay, I think that I can do that. Just be hoenst with me, that's all that I ask." He said. I kissed his forehead and he closed his eyes.

"I will do my best." I agreed. He then loosened his grip on my hand and I knew that he was asleep.
