chapter 27

Jungkook saw the responses from the fans and netizens about the announcement. He finished his concert and the agency announced this now.

“It is as I expected”He went to his car and arrived at his studio.

He wanted to release a new album soon and work for it.

He wrote 3 to 4 drafts of the new title song and deleted it right away. Then tried writing on paper hoping that would give some feel, but he doodled on that paper.

After scribbling random words on the paper, he fed up and closed the note. He decided to go out for some fresh air.He wore his mask and bucket hat and headed out taking his coat.

It’s fall evening in Seoul. It’s quite pleasant and peaceful (not for Jungkook). He parked his car at a river park and went inside.

The faint sunshine hit his face as he walked through the alley. People were staring at the river view, watching and feeding ducks near the river.

He looked around observing the view of his surroundings.

Trees are shedding their old mustard-colored clothes to wear fresh green ones in spring.The alleys are filled with autumn leaves, some floating in the air searching for the right place to land. The warm yet cozy breeze set up the mood perfectly. the sky is painted with yellows and oranges as sunset is nearing. The river reflected the beautiful sky adding some richness as people could get some peace and inspiration from it.

The place is noisy but not annoying, it radiated a weird silence.

Jungkook strolled thinking about his new song concept. his mind reminded him of some nostalgic memories to suffer more.

Then he sat on a bench. He gazed at the river taking in the dazzling view. Some leaves landed on his bucket hat and shook his head to remove the leaves.He looked up and saw red and yellow leaves falling on him. he closed his eyes and hung his head down.

--- it’s fall but it looks like rain to me.The leaves are falling like rain drops; the warm sunset sky looks so dull with thick clouds; the breeze looks like a mist covering me in sorrow…I’m trapped in my misery that looks like rain.Is it because I’m heartbroken? ---

His thoughts gave some ideas for his new song.

Then He watched some dogs running before him. a small cute poodle chased its tail circling and barking.

A laugh escaped his mouth that resembled a bunny.

“yes this is what I’m looking for”He mumbled and hummed some words trying to rhyme them.

He got some lines and gave it a try by closing his eyes,

~ In a rapturous memoryThe rain pours even when I dance aloneBy this time this mist clearsI’ll run with my feet wet So hug me then… ~

He stopped and nodded in satisfaction.

“I think I can use these”He quickly noted the lines on his phone.He walked and stood near the railing. He watched the river’s beautiful view.

He smiled slightly looking at some people. He observed a couple who looked adorable from his POV.

the tall girl pecked her partner’s lips. The smaller girl smiled and intertwined their hands. They both walked but the smaller one couldn’t keep up the pace with the taller one.they stumbled but soon the small girl adjusted to her pace and walked happily.

Jungkook smiled at them and sang with his mask on seeing them,

~ behind the faint smile that looked at me I will draw a beautiful purple shadeThough our footsteps may be out of stepI want to walk this path with you

Still with you ~

He smiled as he found a name and flow of the song and thought further to complete those feelings. His cheerful fans messages popped up in his mind giving him some comfort.

Then Taehyung’s teen face flashed in front of his eyes. His boxy smile occupied his mind and opened his eyes to look somewhere.

He mumbled some lines further,

~ we laugh together, we cry togetherThese simple feelings were everything I hadWhen will it be?I will look into your eyes… ~

He couldn’t complete the verse. He thought for a while.

then His eyes landed on a couple’s silhouette kissing on an arch bridge beside him. he can only see their black figures as sunset is hiding their faces. their angelic figures and gentle gestures caught Jungkook’s eyes, that sight in front of him deserved to be a masterpiece in an art gallery.

He finished the verse by,

~ I will look into your eyes

And say, “I missed you” ~

A single droplet left his right eye when he sang the last line,

“I miss you, I missed you, my love. I lost you in this life. But I won’t lose you if there’s another life for us.”

He mumbled and let out silent tears thinking about Taehyung.

He exited the park after finding his way to the new song, “still with you”.The song talks about his never-ending love for his comforting fans and someone he failed to comfort before.

Meanwhile, Taehyung and Hoseok were on a date.

They bickered while blaming each other for their ruined date.

“It's all your fault Taehyung, because of you I couldn’t see Jin hyung’s new film.”

Hoseok huffed and walked faster ignoring Taehyung.

“I’m sorry, how many times should I say I forgot to buy tickets?”

“I don’t want your excuses”

The thing is, Hoseok promised Jin that he would watch his new film at FDFS. He asked Taehyung to book the tickets as he was busy and that wise man didn’t click on the ‘book now’ option in that app and thought that he booked the tickets.

Hoseok asked him for the tickets in the morning but there were no tickets except the ‘try again later’ screen.

So, they were arguing since morning. Taehyung brought his boyfriend to a peaceful place after big trouble hoping he would calm down.

But Hoseok is more furious watching the view in front of him,

“aah, I don’t wanna see those annoying ducks swimming in this big river. That quack is annoying me more. Let’s kill all of them.”

He pointed at some ducks in the river.

They both are in a river park now.

“no, it should calm you down Hobi”He gently wrapped his arms around the other’s shoulder.

He removed Taehyung’s hands and moved to the other side,

“NO. their noise is irritating me. quack quack quack… that’s so horrible”He growled slightly.

Taehyung knew Hoseok speak nonsense if he was mad. He decided to stay silent for the sake of the poor ducks.

Hoseok walked into the alley looking at the trees. The younger followed him quietly.

A few minutes later, Taehyung spoke,

“Hobi”

“hmm”

“Are you still mad at me?”He asked hesitantly scared of another dose of ramblings.

Hoseok turned around. He scanned the other with squinty eyes.

“of course I am”He replied moving forward.

“We can see the movie tomorrow too”His mouth naturally turned into a pout.

Hoseok turned on his heels now looking at Taehyung,“I know but that’s not the only reason Tae”

“then what?”

“wha - you are asking me what? Last week you bought an air fryer instead of a toaster and dare to convince me both are the same.you lost our house key on our previous dinner date and we sat outside until 3:00 am to get spare keys from Jiwoo.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, you lost your wallet again for the fifth time and a guy returned it to me yesterday.Do you wanna collect men like Pokemon? If you miss that shit again, I’m gonna hang it around your neck. How can you even miss the wallet?”

“but I found you by missing that though”The younger replied in a small voice.

“don’t convince me.

And again, you messed up booking the tickets. You are so lethargic these days Taehyung. you should be responsible. YOU ARE 25 NOW”

Hoseok crossed his arms and bent slightly to see the other’s sullen face.

“Are you listening or not?”

“Yeah”He nodded gently.

Hoseok patted his head and laughed at his long sad face. That looked so funny to him.

“Please don’t keep that long face. Be responsible from now Mr. Adult Kim Taehyung.”

“fine”Taehyung grinned and showed the older if it was ok.

They both giggled and strolled by holding their hands.

They sat at a table and Taehyung went to buy Bubble tea.(ice creams are overused.)

three girls approached Hoseok who was sitting alone but one of the girl’s eyes was on Taehyung.

“Hello! Mind if I ask something?”

“you can ask”

“Can you give your friend’s number? I think I have a crush on him”

She pointed at Taehyung who was buying tea near a truck. Hoseok is already pissed off and she is adding more to it.

Hoseok just eyed her head to toe and denied it.“sorry miss, he won’t like you”

“Does he have a girlfriend?”

“no, a boyfriend and he is sitting in front of you”

Taehyung approached them with the tea.“Hobi here is your favorite”

The other girl gave a disgusting look at both of them. She commented,

“ew these gay people. So annoying”

“ew, these straight people. So itching”Hoseok snapped back making a disappointed face.

(This was his disappointed face)

“What did you say?”She frowned and stepped forward. The other girls stopped her.

Taehyung eyes widened. He didn't wanna get into silly fights now.

“Uhm… I’m sorry. I’m taken”He held the older’s hand and dragged him to another table.

“you guys look adorable. Cute couple.”The girl who asked his number yelled at them.

Taehyung handed the bubble tea to the other.

“Why can’t you stay silent for a second? Always picking up fights”

Hoseok ignored him sipping the tea quietly.

“ I’ve disappeared for a minute and you already bickering with a stranger. You can’t fight forever, I can only do boxing until my hands become sore to help you though. I think I'll lose my hands sooner if you do this.”

The younger is speaking in disbelief.

“she asked your number. I denied, what’s wrong with that?”The older replied.

“you did nothing wrong.”The younger sighed and stood up.

“Finally you realized”Hoseok wrapped his arms around his shoulder and smiled.

“fine, at least you smiled at me”

“yeah that doesn’t mean you can do those mistakes again”

“sure my lord”He bowed at him.

Hoseok chuckled and they strolled at the park talking about random topics.

Now they stood on an arch bridge where there are no people ,  looking at the sunset.

Taehyung glanced at Hoseok who is looking at the sun with a sunshine smile.

“Hobi…”

“Yeah”

“do you have any wishes to be fulfilled?”

Hoseok faced the other now,“What kind of wishes?”

“I mean… something you’ve been wishing for too long hoping that would happen one day”

The older thought for a few seconds,“All my wishes are fulfilled”

“Really?”

“yeah, I wished to be a dancer or a job that relate to dancing.Then I wished to have some good friends and I got it.And I wished to have a kind and precious partner and I got you. I think all my wishes were fulfilled.”

The younger blushed at the last sentence.

“o – oh nice, but I’m not that lucky though.”

Hoseok frowned and disagreed with his point.

“no, you are the luckiest on this planet. I’m your lucky charm.Tell me your wish, I’ll fulfill it for you.”

Then he made some summoning pose.

(He does like this by lifting his leg 😂😂. Sorry this is the only gif that matched what I wanted to say)

Taehyung laughed at the other’s weird poses. He stopped Hoseok from doing further.

“why are you stopping me? I’ll try everything to satisfy your wish like this.”

And proceeded to make some anime summoning pose.

“that’s so funny, people will think you’re weird”

“that’s the fact though”The older replied and asked further,“what are your wishes Tae?”

“Nothing”

“tell me, I said when you asked me”

“it’ll be funny”

“not funnier than me”

Taehyung chuckled at his response.

“Fine, I’ll tell you”

Then he thought of his wish. He finds it so dramatic and silly.

~ I wanna live with the love of my life in a utopia where I can’t see my parents with an everlasting spring as I should live with the blooming blossoms blessing us with a happy life ~

(I regret writing this long-ass wish before. Too hard to type)

After thinking, he finally spoke,

“Well, I – I wished for a happy life with my partner and friends that don’t include my parents…I love the spring season so I asked for a forever spring where I can see the flowers every day.”

His face turned red after saying that to Hoseok.

He laughed nervously,

“My first wish was fulfilled already. I know the second one is so lame, leave it Hobi.”

“no, it’s actually a fair wish. It will happen one day. I’ll make it happen”Then Hoseok bowed politely like a genie.

Taehyung chuckled and pulled the other by his waist. “I’m happy with you so I don’t mind anything.”

“me too but I mind if you buy an air fryer or grill next time”Taehyung rolled his eyes and nodded.

They made eye contact and leaned closer. And closed the gap between them. the younger wrapped his arms around Hoseok and they stayed like that enjoying the moment. That was a slow and ecstatic kiss.the sunset blinded their appearance making them look like shadows. And they looked like a beautiful art pieces in a gallery.

The art piece that made Jungkook complete his new song’s verse; the art piece that made Jungkook cry for Taehyung; the art piece that made Jungkook leave after recognizing the people behind those angelic silhouettes.
