Chapter 27
23:18, 8 September 2018Harry's POV*
"Hey man." I greeted Josh who had finally made it to Leslie's game. I was sitting on the other side of the gym with a direct view of the door. The game wasn't full because, no offense to my girlfriend, nobody really cares for the volleyball games.
"Hey." He bro-hugged me when I stood up. "Hey Alice." I greeted his mom who grinned from beside her boyfriend presumably.
"Hi Harry, how are you?"
"I'm great, you?"
"I'm good. This is Ricardo, my boyfriend. Ricardo this is my daughter's boyfriend Harry." She introduced and I stuck my hand out.
"Pleasure to meet you Ricardo." I said and he shook my hand.
"Pleasure's all mine, kiddo. Call me Rick." He winked and I nodded slowly. Alice and Ricardo sat in the row above me and Josh who were on the ground. I had room to lean back and put one elbow in the row where they sat. I conversated with the family as I watched my girlfriend warm up.
"So, which one is your daughter. Haven't seen her in what? 10 years?" Rick asked and I chuckled. "Number 88." I said and he looked, widening his eyes. "She really grew up. Looks beautiful, just like her mother." He winked at Alice who rolled her eyes while blushing.
"So man, how are you and my sister doing? Like relationship wise."
"We're really good. She bought me this watch which pissed me off but." I lifted my wrist to expose my gold Rolex watch which made him widen his eyes.
"You should be happy! She's been saving money since she was literally, I kid you not, 8 years old. She has enough to buy a house. She gets an allowance every month, well we do, and she spends 0 money of it. We get like spending money essentially. We both get like 100-150, not to mention the money we get from doing work here and there. It's ridiculous how much she has saved."
"I love the gift, I do. I don't like the price tag on it." I fixed my watch and he rolled his eyes.
"Trust me, I've seen what she's got you. You're a lucky man. Marissa bought me a fucking box of condoms. You think its a joke but a fucking box of condoms. Not even the right size." I bursted out laughing, patting him on the back as Alice laughed.
"Well, at least she got you something man." Rick put his arms on Josh's shoulder. "She bought it because they were flavored condoms." Josh said and I only laughed harder, shaking my head. I turned my head to see Leslie about to start playing.
"Oh fuck." I widened my eyes as I saw my family walk through the gym doors. Their eyes scanned the gym, landing on me and Gemma squealed when she saw Josh.
"What?" He asked and I groaned.
"My family's here. I didn't want them to meet your sister until this weekend. She's going to fucking flip her shit because she's not ready." I said getting up to meet them.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked. "Gemma told me about your relationship! Why didn't you tell me?" My mom smacked my arm and I held it. "Ow! I didn't tell you cause I wasn't ready." I groaned, leading them back to Alice who smirked.
"Mom, Gemma, this is Alice and her boyfriend Rick. Josh." I introduced them and they shook hands.
"How long have you two been dating?" My mom blurted as I sat next to Josh who looked at me and laughed. "Yeah babe, how long we been dating?" He played along, wrapping both arms around my neck.
"Stop." Alice warned her son who laughed.
"I'm not gay mom. I told you guys this." "You're obviously gay! It's fine, son. I have no shame in you. I'll accept you." My mom said and I groaned.
"It's hard to be gay when we're currently at my girlfriend's game." I said and they both looked confused, noticing we were at a GIRLS volleyball game.
"Which one's your girlfriend?" Gemma asked and I pushed Josh who laughed as I sat up and pointed to her.
"Number 88." They followed my finger to Leslie and their jaws dropped. "Harry what the fuck did you hide her from us for? She's gorgeous!" Gemma smacked me in the back of my head making me yelp in pain.
"Jesus Gem, easy. I wasn't hiding her from you. I was waiting for you to get home so you can all sit down as a family and meet her. Fuck." "Language Harold." My mom warned and Jackson pulled on my hand. I pulled him to my lap as I rolled my eyes.
"What's her name?"
"Leslie."
"How old is she? She looks kinda young Harry." My mom said with wide eyes and her mom laughed. "She's only 17. She'll be 18 in October." "She's your daughter?" "Yeah." Her and my mom conversated as I watched.
Leslie slid on the floor for the ball, hitting it up so her teammate could spike it over the net. I admired her work, completely ignoring everyone until Josh elbowed my side, tensing up. I followed his gaze to the door.
"What the fuck? Hold him for a second." I handed Gemma her son back before standing up to see Alice with the same scared expression as the other night.
"Harold." My mom warned and I shook my head, looking to see if Leslie had noticed her dad came to the game, she didn't.
"Come on." Josh said and we both walked over to the man, I made sure Leslie didn't look over. She was too busy into the game.
"What the fuck is your issue?" I snapped at her dad as he leaned against the far wall. "I'm here for my daughter." "No, let's go." Josh pushed his dad outside the gym doors.
"She does not want to see you, do you not understand that?" I asked and he stared at me.
"Aren't you her booty call from the other night?"
"He's her boyfriend. You need to leave, you're not going to ruin her night by being here." Josh said and her dad rolled his eyes.
"She's my daughter too, Joshua. You're my son. Why do I not have the right to see her?"
"You have the right to see her but considering in this state she is a consenting adult who chooses not to see you meaning you can't see her. You've done enough to her." I said and he stared at me.
"I admire your love for my daughter I do, but I'm her father and I know what's best for her since I know her."
"Okay what's her favorite color?" I asked, rubbing my eye as I crossed my arms. "What?" "You know your daughter best. What's her favorite color?" "This is stupid." "Answer the question." Josh said and her dad sighed.
"Purple." He answered since that was the color of her room. She didn't like the color purple but had the room for the aesthetic of lilac which is calming.
"Pink and black. What is she allergic to?" I answered and he blinked in shock.
"Nothing, she has no allergies."
"That's your other daughter. Grace is allergic to seafood, jellybeans, twizzlers and coconut." Josh said and his dad's face fell.
"Who does she idolize?"
"Taylor Swift."
"No, she hates Taylor. She idolizes Drake. A little too much but hey, nobody judges her." I said and he looked down sadly.
"You need to leave her alone. If you don't, we'll put a restraining order on you." Josh warned.
"I want to see her. Talk to her. I need to. I'm her father." He begged and I shook my head to Josh as he tried to walk in.
"Okay. You can talk to her if you answer this last question." I said and Josh gave me a bewildered look. "What? Nothing stupid." "Not stupid." I cleared my throat as Josh glared at me.
"When is her birthday?" Her dad seemed taken aback at the question. He sat in deep thought and I gave josh a look of pity. Her own father didn't know her birthday. He returned the look.
"June 1st."
"That's Susan's birthday, dad." Josh's voice broke. Susan was the other daughter.
"You're a fucking disgusting excuse of a father. How could you not know your own daughter's birthday?" I asked and he looked hurt by my words.
"Stay the fuck away from her. If I catch you near her, I'll kill you myself." I warned as I walked in, seeing Leslie looking around for me so I pretended to zip up my pants. She shot me a grin which I returned. I sat at my original spot.
"What happened?" Alice asked shakily and I shook my head.
"He wanted to talk to her. Said he knew her better than anyone. Answered simple questions like what her favorite color is, her allergies and her fucking birthday wrong. What kind of father doesn't know his own kid's birthday? That shit is fucking ridiculous." I growled and she put her arms around my neck, hugging me from behind.
"She's lucky to have you." She sniffled and I put my hand on her arm.
"I'm the lucky one. Do me a favor?" I looked up at her, she nodded.
"Don't tell her he was here. It'll ruin her night." I sighed as Josh sat next to me and sighed.
"Nobody tells her anything." He said and we all had a mutual agreement.
