The boy slowly took off his mask.

Violet: Duncan?

The boy: Quigley, Quigley Quagmire. I survived the fire..

Klaus: what are you doing here?

Quigley: I was trying to find my siblings.

Violet: we are too, we aren't sure where they are..

Quigley: I'm happy I found you though.

He looked at isabelle.

Quigley: and who is this?

Isa: I'm Kit Snicket's daughter..

Quigley: really? She's one of the top volunteers!

Violet and klaus looked at isabelle, unsure of why she chose to mention kit and not olaf. The wondered maybe she didn't want to be known by him anymore.

Isa: yeah.. she's pretty cool. Oh, and this is my friend lily.

Lily waved.

Isa: she is new to all of this..

Quigley looked at them both.

Violet: anyways..maybe we could try to salvage what we have left of this building.

Klaus: some of the books aren't completely ruined.

The children walked through the burned remains of the building and found a small table.

Violet: this looks like a kitchen.

Isa: they had lots of parties here, and lots of food. One night they were having a masquerade party and.. olaf tried to kill your mother..

Klaus: are you serious?

Isa: yes.. that night she was dressed as a dragonfly and the wings on her costume saved her from him pushing her off a balcony.

Violet: why did he push her off a balcony?

Isa: because he found out.. that she was the one who killed his dad.

Quigley: such a soap opera.

Isa: that's where he was killed.

Lily: woah, guys look!

Lily ran to the front doors of the headquarters.

Lily: there's a huge frozen waterfall.

Klaus: there's smoke coming from the top.

Quigley: is something on fire?

Olaf: hurry up, baby!

Sunny: fire.

Olaf looked the cigarette he was smoking.

Olaf: fine, but don't smoke, smoking is very bad for you, only use this to cook.

He smiled and handed the cigarette to sunny.

Woman: do you even know where the Baudelaires are?

Olaf: idk, probably dead. Doesn't matter. I have that child and that's all I need.

Esmé: I'm hungry!

Olaf: I know! Me too, the little Baudelaire hasn't made us food yet.

Sunny: slow.

Olaf: I don't care if you're slow, you're like 2 years old you should be able to cook by now.

Quigley: whatever is up there, the snow scouts will be going there to celebrate false spring.

Lily: what's false spring?

Isa: that's when the temperature goes unusually warm before going cold again.

Klaus: it says in this book that volunteers use smoke as a signal, maybe sunny is up there using the smoke to tell us where she is.

Isa: maybe we could climb the waterfall..

Violet: I can make us things to use to climb.

Klaus: while you do that, I'll stay here and read more about vfd.

Quigley: I will too. I'm really good at reading maps, I can find a way out of these mountains.

Violet smiled at Quigley.

Isa: lily, violet, and I will go get sunny.

Man: we just have to wait for those snow scouts to come and then all of our problems will be solved.

Woman: not all of them.. the snicket girl still has the sugarbowl.

Olaf: snicket girl..?

Man: we ran into her right before we came up here. She ran off before we could get the sugarbowl from her.

Esmé: you mean she was here?!

Woman: she was trying to get it to the VFD headquarters.

Man: but we burned them down. No volunteers will be able to read all of that research...

Violet had isabelle and lily give them thier shoes.

She put spears she had found on them so they could climb the mountain.

Violet: I really hope we can save sunny.

Isa: we will try our best.
