I sat back and watched Kai fuck that food up I cooked.."What!?"She said with a mouth fool of food.

I laughed."Ma you hungry or what?"

She giggled."What it look like?"

"It look like you got the munchies like a MUTHAFUCKA."I said glancing down at her.

She shrugged."I do and my high is coming down."

I nodded"That's what happens ma."

"I love weed."She said looking over at me and finishing up her food in one bite.

"The feelin' is mutual ma."I said smirking her way

"I want some more."

"Say no more."I had pre rolls ready always.I went in my suitcase and grabbed one for her and me.."Light up."I said holding it out for her..

"Not in here Marina is down the hall sleep."

I smiled caressing her face.."Baby girl you worry way too much, here take this and elevate your mind.."She looked at me than the spliff..

"Fuck it."She said taking it as I showed her the proper way to light it and go on a journey..

She smiled inhaling."Mmmm."She said in bliss as I admired the smoke escaping her lips.She took another pull at the same time I did than looked at me..

I smiled knowing the perfect place we could go."Let's finished gettin' lifted first, afta' that get dressed I got you.."

We finished smoking and got dressed.I went to go let my grans know we were headed out and would be back later.

"AYOO!"I said tapping her shoulder.She just rolled over.."You ain't sleep don't your kind be up around this time anyway watchin' the stories an shit!"

She laughed rolling over facing me opening up one eye.."You ain't too old to get cha ass beat Ricardo!Why you in my room?"

"I'm just tryn let you know me and Kai bout head out I'ma take her to the studio."

"Okay and what you want me to do with that information boy?"

"I was just lettin' you know so you wouldn't think we just up and dipped cause my daughter is here remember!"I said extending my arms..

"Ricardo?"

"Get out of my house, I'll see you both when I see you.."

I shook my head leaving out closing the door.I headed towards the hallway catching Kai peaking through the door at Marina.I walked behind her.."What you lookin' at ma?"I said poking her sides..

She giggled and shushed me."Keep your voice down she's tryna get her beauty rest.."

I threw my hands up shooing her and Marina."She'll be straight come on nerd."I said grabbing her hand..She looked over at me low eye'd..

"Hey you ever watched Hey Arnold?"I just squinted my eyes at her knowing she was bout to say some high shit."Remember when Gerald said, The Journey is the Destination man. You know the one I'm talking about where they had to dressed as fruits!?"

"Nah ion think I caught that one baby girl. Point being?"

"OPP! DON'T GET SMART!I'm just tryna tell you after all the years I get it."

I shook my head.."Shorty let's be out cause I'm flat ova' anything you got goin' on at this point.."I said grabbing her from behind as we made our way downstairs..

"So where we going?"

I just smirked opening the door."Wouldn't you like to know."She maxed and relaxed all the way to our destination..She was slumped by the time we made it there.

Eyes of Kai:

I was knocked out when we pulled up to the old Ruckers hotel building.

"Well rise and shine baby."Josh said smiling my way..And I couldn't help but return the smile.

"This place has been closed for at least 5 years it looks great now! What we doing here?"I said stretching and looking around.Josh took off his seatbelt remaining silent.He got everything out and came around to the passenger side opening the door.

"You said you wanted to go somewhere here we are."He said holding out his hand as I grabbed it."Comon' ma."

"Uh Josh this parking space is for the CEO."I said looking up at him by my side towering over me.

"Yup."He simply replied as we made our way to the front.We walked in and the biulding was simply Beautiful!We went to the front desk and a guy dressed in black slacks and a shirt that said "Harlem Square Records" looked up.

"Oh Mr. Longpacker Welcome!"Josh nodded.

"Who's here Cane?"Josh said looking around.

"Just me and the staff right now, nobody's has came as of yet!"

Josh nodded."What's our stats for the month?"

"One second."He did some typing on the computer and not even a minute later Joshua checked his phone.

"A mill.. that's not bad who came thru?"Josh said as I looked around confused.

"A Boogie, Kevin Gates, Jungle, and Styles P & Jada.. the usual."The guy behind the desk said.

"You didn't charge Styles & Jada did you?"Josh said looking at a email alert that he had received.

"No but you know they paid regardless of what I said."

Josh shook his head.."Ight take that money off the books, I'll hit them up lata'."

"Would you and the lady enjoy a coffee, frappuccino or breakfast from the cafe?"

Josh turned my way."Are you hungry, you want a coffee or anything?"

"I could go for a french vanilla frap actually."I said smiling his way.

Josh nodded and turned towards the guy."Let me get a blueberry muffin and a fresh vanilla frap whateva she said for the lady we goin' up to studio D block. Don't let anyone in, close down untill we leave.Are there any appointments booked for this morning?"Josh said

"No sir not until later on Joey B booked studio time at 8:30 tonight.. As well as Kash Doll.. Oh and Jhené as well, but that's not until after 8 at night as well."

"Cool today is the day we give the state all of our stats so make sure everything is up to date send it to Jonesy."Josh said closing his phone and handing it to me..

"No problem I'll have Erica lock the biulding down now and your luxuries will be up to you."

"Good looks Cane, how's the misses?"Josh said smiling his way.

"Good she had the baby last Tuesday."

"Oh so ya ass is a fatha' now?"Cane nodded showing him a picture.Josh grabbed it smiling."Damn he don't look nothin' like ya ugly ass! I'll send ya some things to the crib.Ya good, anything needed around here?"

"No sir! Paychecks go out today and everything is up to code."

"Ight sonny, let's go sexy."Josh said looking back at me.We walked side by side as I admired the inside.It was truly a site to see.I had so many questions as we entered the elevator.

I gave him that confused expression."What's up ma?"

"Josh, where are we?"

He gave me a sneaky smile"We at our label."He said shrugging pressing the 12 on the elevator.

I looked around confused."Josh you mean this is the record label you, Quan and Jones own this place?"

"Yup."He said shrugging helping me off the elevator as we finally reached the 12th floor.

"But this whole place is HUGE, this used to be the Ruckers Plaza Hotel.. How on Earth!?"

"Ma, relax! Take a second an breath.. Look I know it ain't allat but we tryna get it together and be legit as possible."He said as I stopped in my tracks"What!? I told you I would bring you here."

"Josh you told me this place wasn't much, this is amazing.How did you even?"

"Shorty I knew a guy who owed me a favor back in the gap, and when I heard he was selling the Ruckers and switching locations we all put our money together and copped this.. Not a big deal.I'm givin' the other cut to Nish since it's rightfully hers now."I was in awe and disbelief.It was well organized, way pass fancy and had legit workers everywhere.There was a cafe and coffee shop.There was a gift shop and anything you can think of a big fancy biulding came with."Look ma it's alot of things I got goin' on that I haven't let you in on.But rightfully so if anything ever happens to me this will all be for you and Marina. If anything ever happens to me can I count on you to take over and be there for Marina? Would you take on soul custody of her and all my royalties?"

My heart was beating fast. He put me on the spot but I knew I would always be here for Marina.Something about him saying that made me sad."Josh I would go to the end of the earth for you but you're not going anywhere right?"

He smiled grabbing my hand."As long as I have your word ma, that's all I need."I nodded.."Ight than comon' so I can show you around."I looked up in his eyes.

"Josh I don't like you talking like that."

"Ma, we good I'm just preparing for whatever may come.Don't be sad I'm not goin' no wea', I would neva' leave you and Marina Ight."He said lifting my chin and kissing me..I gave him a slight smile nodding."Cool let's walk."I followed him down the hall seeing all the plaques everywhere.

"Wow all of these artist come here?"

"Trust me ma it wasn't always like this we ain't have shit when we first started. It was just Quan spittin' in the booth and Jones was makin' the beats as I handled everything else.Nutt never came around."He said shaking his head pulling out the key to the room at the end of the hall.We walked in as he clapped and all the lights came on."Ight so I'll get you some keys made but this is the only room in the biulding that's motion censored just so you know.This is our meeting room and office.Only me Jones and Quan been in hea'."I smiled at him looking like a proud father as he walked to the end of the long table and pulled out the seat with the big leather chair sitting down like a King.He patted his lap."You my golden girl right?"I just looked down smirking and shrugging."Ma, you my golden girl right?"

I smiled looking off"Yes."

"Say that shit then, come sit on my lap."I made my way down to him feeling like I was walking through a crowd.I sat in his lap as he wrapped his arms around me.."How does it feel to be queen pen?"

I shrugged."I don't know. Kind of overwhelming."

He chuckled kissing my cheek."Yeah but you'll get used to it."He pulled me back to him as I laid back against his chest."I told you I'd take care of you and that's my word ma."I just smiled feeling the warmth of his chest."Ight you ready to check out the main studio where the magic happens?"I nodded laughing as he tickled me."Let's go then."He said patting my butt as we made our way out and he locked up..We walked down to the second door at the end of the hall on the right.He turned facing me.."Welcome to D block! You gotta be nice wit it in order to rhyme in hea'. I'm talkin' Rakim, LL, Slick Rick nice wit it?Ma you could spit?"

I laughed."You know I don't rap."

He laughed extending his arms."The way you make me weak I can't tell, afta' you."I walked in and we both got bombarded with the unthinkable.

"FUCK DON'T STOP TAY, SHIT!"Quan called out on the couch as Taylor road him.

"BRO YA DEAD ASS!?"Josh said as I covered my eyes leaving out.

Eyes of Joshua:

We walked into Taylor and Quan getting it in."BRO YA DEAD ASS!?"

"Oh shit!"Taylor said hopping up covering her chest as I looked away.

"Son I was almost there can you give us some privacy?"Quan said looking up at me dead naked as I looked off..

"Miller what the FUCK! Get up an get dressed!"Taylor said..

I just let myself out into the hallway where Kai was looking distraught.I was cracking up."AYO! Ya girl wild son, welcome to Harlem Square records!"

She couldn't help but laugh with me."What the HELL!"

I shook my head."Ayo ya' man's done freaked out my studio B!"

"I AM DISGUSTED!"Kai said throwing up her hands.

I walked up to her grabbing her waist.."OUR TURN!"

"FUCK NO!"She said laughing.

"Worth a try."I said shrugging.

"Ayo! My bad son, I didn't know ya was here!"Quan said coming out to where we were with Taylor as she look embarrassed.

"Yo kid what the fuck! I just left the lobby and Cane said no one was here!"I said looking over at the two freaks of the year.

"Yo we pulled up out back and came thru the side."He said shrugging.

"I thought you was gone hit me up bro? Fuck is up?"I said looking him up and down.

"I was afta' I got done with shorty shit happened outta no wea' son."I shook my head looking at his hand he had out to dab me up..

"B no funny shit put ya dukes up, I'm good on that."I looked back at Kai."Fuck is up wit kid?"She shook her head.

"Really Tay?"Kai said looking over at her.

"Look I ain't know ya was gonna be hea'."She said holding herself.

"AYO, ya go get yaself togetha' while I spray this place down son."They both dipped as I entered back in..Luckily in each studio there was a closet with cleaning supplies..I opened it and Lysol'ed the place down.. wipes and all.I came back out to where Kai stud."The coast is clear ma!"

"You sure?"She said looking around suspiciously.

I laughed."Comon'."I said as she came in cautiously looking around with the stank face."You good ma, sit here!"I said sitting her in the engineering chair in front of all of the equipment.There was a knock at the door."Come in!"I called toward the door.

"You and the misses luxuries."one of my employees from the cafe said.I thanked them getting up grabbing it and tipping them as they left back out..I gave Kai her frap whatever that shit was called and ate my muffin..

She smiled up at me.."Thanks Josh!"I smiled caressing her cheek.."So what's all these buttons for."

As soon as I was about to answer her question my phone buzzed and she handed it to me.

Josh it's Preston. Me and the misses are back in town I'll send you the address for dinner tonight. Get Kai to come but don't let her know what it's for, see you there..Shortly after another attachment came with the address I looked over at her..

"You okay you look like you just seen a ghost."She said squinting my way.I wasn't expecting for all of this to happen so fast.But here it was and I would let her know later on today.

"Yeah just a little business as usual..Ight so look all these buttons Jonesy would have to tell you about but I know for sure what this one does."
