Chapter Fifteen

Bryce came back to the apartment, to see Texty, Owen, and Liam all talking. Bryce sat across from them at the table.

"You gonna eat?" Owen asked. Liam kept staring down at his food.

"Nah, I didn't make enough." Bryce responded.

"Thanks for the food, by the way." Liam half-mumbled.

"No problem!"

"oh, hi bryce"

He didn't respond.

Bryce inspected Liam a bit. He noticed that his eyes were dull and he appeared tired. Bryce looked down at the table and began looking through the mail. He sighed.

"Well, I'm unemployed now."

"That makes three of us." Owen chuckled.

Liam continued looking down at his food and yawned.

"should i keep playing the music"

Liam opened his mouth to talk, but hesitated before speaking. "Nah. I think I'll go to bed. I'm pretty tired."

"you've been asleep for two weeks my dude"

Liam chuckled. "So, where am I gonna sleep anyway?"

"Uhhh, I dunno, where do you want to sleep?" Bryce forced a friendly smile.

"I guess on the floor, like usual." Liam got out of his chair.

"Alright, if you say so." Bryce was a little concerned for Liam, but he didn't want to treat him like a sick child.

"I should probably hit the hay too, I can sleep on the couch." Owen arose from his chair and pushed it back to its original spot. "I only have one pillow and blanket." Bryce began walking toward the closet door and opened it, pulling out the aforementioned pillow and blanket.

"where am i gonna sleep"

Bryce chuckled at Texty's remark.

"I can go without them." Owen said, responding to Bryce's earlier comment. Bryce gently set the folded up blanket and pillow next to Liam, who was sitting on the floor next to Bryce's bed.

Bryce turned the lights off, then walked back over to the table and sat down. "I'm gonna chat with Texty a bit before I go to bed." He said, opening the computer. "Alright. Goodnight, Bryce." Owen said, before laying down and drifting asleep.
