Chapter 11
11:20, 16 March 2017Jade's POV
What happened earlier outside the cafe was really intense. It felt like adrenaline took over my whole body and my heart was pounding so hard I thought it's gonna break my chest. It's not the paparazzi surrounding me that made me feel that way, I'm used to that. But it's the fact that I was with this beautiful blondie and I'm holding her hand through out that moment. Gosh! That was like two minutes and I'm already dying. How on Earth did I thought I'm gonna last?
I forced myself out of my reverie when the car came to a stop, we arrived at my office building. I opened the car door and got out, followed by Perrie. We waited for the others and when they arrived, we entered the building. Leigh-Anne led them straight to the conference room while I went to my office. After checking a few emails, I took the paperwork from my desk and went to the conference room. When I stepped inside, they were all chatting about the earlier events.
"Girls, you're all over Twitter!" Jesy exclaimed.
"Yeah, photos of you two getting out of the cafe 'holding hands' are breaking the internet." Leigh added.
"So it's working then." Paul cheered.
"I'm glad it is." I said with a smirk on my face, glancing at Perrie.
I sat on an empty chair and handed Paul the documents. Leigh-Anne gave them sign pens.
"What's this for?" Perrie asked.
"This is a contract. As Paul said earlier, I'll be your choreographer. So these stuff are necessary." I said matter of factly.
We signed the contract and Leigh-Anne collected them. I took them to a tour of the building since I want to show them the place. They were amazed by the architectural design of it, especially the spacious and well-lit dance studios. Then I led them to my favorite room in this building.
"You have you're own recording studio?!" Perrie asked in amazement. Man, she's so cute!
"Well, yeah. It's actually a dream of mine to have one." I chuckled.
"Wow!" she said as she roam around. I wish I could get a chance to record with you.
"So this is where you record your songs?" Jesy questioned.
"Yes. When I feel like I have something that I need to write down, I go here. When I want to be alone and just listen to music, I go here. This is my hideout when I need to escape from the crazy world of showbiz." I said.
"That's amazing." she replied.
We continued the tour and when we finished, they decided it's time to go. I insisted to drive them all home, but they refused. In the end, we've decided that Jesy and Paul will ride their car, while Perrie rides with me. Yes! We said our thank yous and goodbyes and then walked to the parking lot. I led Perrie to my car and she stopped.
"This is yours?" she asked, shocked.
"Yes, why?" I asked her confused.
"Is this one of those most expensive cars in the world?" she asked, still shocked at my Aston Martin One-77.
"Well, there are others that are definitely more expensive than this." I chuckled.
"But still expensive?" she continued.
"Fine. It's expensive, if that's what you want to here. And this is just one of the cars I own." I said with a smirk. I open the door to the passenger's side and let her in. Then I walked around to the driver's side.
"How many cars do you have?" she asked as soon as I got in.
"I lost count." I said cockily. She rolled her eyes.
"What? You asked me a question, I just answered it." I said to her with a giggle.
"Arrogant." she mumbled.
"No, I'm not." I countered.
"W-what?" she gasped, surprised that I heard her. Damn Edwards! You're so cute, I wanna ki- Okay, stop right there Jade!
"I'm not one of those people who like to brag their riches. I have money because I worked my ass off for it. I earned it from my own sweat, without depended on other people." I explained.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean t-" she said embarrassed.
"It's okay. I know you didn't." I cut her off and smiled. I started the car and drove off.
~~~
It was silent, not awkward but a comfortable silence. I glance to her and she was looking outside.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I'm fine." she replied.
"Okay." I smiled at her.
"Hey, can I ask you something?" now her turn to ask.
"Sure." I said.
"Why'd you agreed to this?" she asked nervously.
"Honestly, at first I thought it would be just for fun. You know, play with the media, make them crazy." I chuckled.
"Yeah, they're really annoying." she commented and then nodded for me to continue.
"But when Paul explained to me why you guys wanted this to continue, I had a change of mind." I said.
"What do you mean?" she questioned.
"I mean, to know that someone needed me or my help for this instance, it made me feel special, out of all the people you could've picked, you guys chose me, that I'm enough. Although, I never thought that I would have to pretend to date someone to feel that." I explained to her.
"I didn't want to put you into so much trouble. You could have said no." she said shyly. Ohh sweet little thing...
"Perrie, believe me. I agreed to do this because I wanted to. My everyday life has always been the same, it turned into a routine. I wake up, go to work, flashing lights everywhere. It eventually turned boring. Having this agreement with you, adds excitement to it. Every time I'll wake up now, I have a new purpose, a new challenge to take." I explained further.
"You're not the only one who's gonna benefit on this you know. Me too. So it's a win-win." I added.
"That's quite a speech there Thirlwall. And thank you!" she said.
"Don't thank me yet. We're just getting started." I smirked at her. Oh just wait and see babe!
~~~
I pulled to the side of the street just outside her flat. I turned off the engine and told her to wait as I exit the car. I went around and open the car door for her.
"Such a gentlewoman you are." she cooed at me.
"I'm trying to express you, that's why." I giggled. Smooth Thirlwall, smooth.
"Do you want to come in?" she offered. Do I? No, not tonight.
"Actually, I think I better get going. It's getting late and I don't want to bother you." I said.
"Are you sure? I think I owe you for driving me home." she asked.
"Oh it's fine. It's my job now remember?" I smirked at her. She rolled her eyes.
"I'm just not used to it yet." she giggled. Oh her giggle sounds so cute!
"Don't worry, you'll get there." I assured her.
"So... I should go inside." she said suddenly shy.
"Yeah, sure." I said, trying to hide the fact that I don't want her to go yet. Please don't go yet.
We said our goodbyes and goodnights. She smiled at me and then turn towards the door. I started to walk back to the car when an idea came to my mind.
"Hey Perrie!" I called. Thank God she's still by the door.
"Yeah?" she said and turned to look at me.
"I- uh.. A-are you free.. t-tomorrow night?" I asked. Gosh Thirlwall! Where are all the confidence you have earlier?
"Uhm, yeah. I think... I think I am. Why?" she said.
"I just thought... you know... maybe... you- we can hang out?" I asked suddenly feeling shy. Dammit!
"Hmm.. Yeah, sure. I'd like that." she replied.
"Really? So, is that a yes?" I said excitedly. Stop acting like a teenager Jade!
"Yes, I'll hang out with you tomorrow night." she assured me. Yes!
"Alright then, I'll pick you up at seven." I said, a smile tattooed on my face.
"Okay, I'll see you then." she smiled at me.
"Bye Perrie." I waved at her.
"Bye Jade." she waved back.
