16. Coffee With The Favourite Hybrid
05:09, 11 January 2014Kol's POV:
After a hard day of running around town trying to save Grace, I came home and relaxed on my bed. It may have been an old-fashioned house, but Klaus sure had kept up with modern day technology.
My bedroom was set out with a giant TV, just like all the others. Also, a large stereo, an Xbox, and a dock for my iPhone.
I grabbed the remote, and switched on the TV. As I channel surfed, I put one arm behind my head, relaxing into the softness of the fluffy pillows. Nothing good was on, as per usual. But I changed back to a movie channel, and settled down to watch an action flick.
It was about 3.00 now, Grace was nearly finished school, and I would let her study for a bit before coming to see her. I suddenly felt a pang of hunger, as blood sprayed all over the room in the movie. This sure was gory.
I grinned and jumped up from the king sized bed, heading towards the door, when someone grabbed my shoulder. In natural defence, I flipped around and slammed them into the wall. As I looked into their huge brown eyes I raised one eyebrow.
"Katherine?"
The doppleganger smiled at me evilly, and coughed as my hand griped tighter on her throat.
"Well don't you want to know why I'm here?"
I squinted, and dropped my arms, stepping back towards the bed. It was uncanny how much she looked like Eleana. If it wasn't for the curls, and facial expressions of a monster, I wouldn't have noticed at all.
I nodded, gesturing her to carry on.
She tilted her head. "Why, I want you of course."
My eyebrows scrunched together and I shook my head. "Why? You love Stefan? You disgust me Katerina."
She laughed with a smirk, and I heard someone walk into the house, and start talking to Klaus. It was probably one of my other siblings. I turned back to Katherine, and she slowly started walking over to me, step by step.
"I. Want. You."
She shuffled closer, her eyes sparkling, and without a word, grabbed my face, and pushed my lips vigorously into hers. What was I doing?! I yanked my head back, too see none other then Grace standing at my doorway, tears pouring out of her eyes, choking for breath.
I was so lost for words, I didn't know what to say as she simply flipped around and flew down the staircase. I urged to run after her, but I was frozen on the spot, it just dawning on me what happened.
My head snapped around to see Katherine's annoying smirk, and with a swish of my hand, I threw her against the wall, with all my force. Her eyes widened as she slid down the boarding.
My brother started yelling from down the stairs. I could hear him stomping up towards me.
"I hope I did not see what I think I just saw Kol, because you better be damned sorry if you've done anyth-"
As he reached the doorway he stopped dead at the sight before him. Katherine was standing up again, trying to hold a brave face at seeing the man who had been trying to destroy her for decades, or even centuries.
"Katherine." He whispered in disbelief.
She folded her arms and turned around to him with a blank facial. "Hello Niklaus."
After I realised neither of them were going to carry on the conversation I frowned and Katherine with a growl.
"Why did you try and kill Grace."
She just smirked and looked back at me, folding her arms. "If she has your heart, I can't have it."
Her stupid grin sent Klaus over the edge. In a sudden rush, he slammed into her, sending her and himself out the window, dropping down two storeys onto the grass.
I dashed down after them, watching the scene. I was content that my brother had this handled. He gripped her throat tight, making her cough and look at me, asking for help with her eyes.
His eyes went dangerously red, and he put on his evil hybrid face. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now."
She stuttered, trying to talk and breathe at the same time, still with the hand round her neck.
"I am the doppleganger."
He shook his head and gave an angry laugh.
"Not good enough."
He growled and viciously bit into her shoulder, leaving a hideous werewolf bite, that was looking pretty fatal already.
He pulled back with a grin, turning to me.
"Problem solved."
I nodded back at my brother in thanks. Katherine promptly shot us a look of disgust before zipping off the property.

Grace's POV:
I was running home, bag in hand, tears slowing down on my face, as my sadness turned to anger, when Tyler pulled up beside me. He gave me a concerned look, when he saw my tears, and no car.
"Grace? Grace are you okay?"
I just ignored him and kept running. I did not feel like socialising with anyone at the moment. But he wasn't giving up. I huffed.
"Grace, get in the car. Now." He demanded, and I could feel his eyes burning into my head. When I just carried on ignoring him, keeping on running, he was forced to take action.
With his hybrid strength and speed, he hopped out of the car, grabbed me, belted me in, and sped away with a flash.
I crossed my arms, and gave him a scowl, rubbing my eyes. "What was that for?"
He smiled. "What kind of friend would I be if I just let you run home, pouring your eyes out. What's wrong anyway?"
I looked away from his worried eyes, and into my lap. I twiddled my fingers around, and another tear dropped from my face.
Shaking my head firmly, I looked back at him, telling him.
"I don't want to talk about it."
He accepted that, and nodded, turning back to the road. That was what I liked about Tyler. We were perfect friends. We understood eachother.
He carried on, with a grin. "Well, I was just heading towards The Grill, alone in fact. I'll buy you a coffee, okay?"
I looked over at him with a smile and nodded. He was so nice, trying to cheer him up. I leaned my head on his shoulder, letting the rays of sun shine over my face.
I hope Kol was worrying his face off right now. What ever had happened at the Mikaelsons was something I did not want to remember. I also hoped Klaus was ripping into him at this very moment.
####
We arrived at The Grill , and rested in the sun at an outside table. As I watched Ty stretch back in his seat, the sun danced beams around his face, and I realised that Tyler never had to wear a sunlight ring. Huh. Perks of being half vampire half werewolf.
Our coffees arrived to us, and I tentatively sipped it down, my tears all dried up. I hoped my crying was unnoticeable because Elijah was at the bar inside, and he nodded a hello to me when we ordered.
"So." Tyler grinned at me. "I haven't seen you for ages Gracie! What's happening to us?"
I smiled at him, and leaned forward closer.
"I think we're both in relationships now." I winked.
He smiled back at me, eyes sparkling. "Caroline's great, how's Mr Mikaelson?"
I sighed again, and took another sip of my coffee. "Well. I did just walk in to find him kissing Katherine."
This was partially not true. Katherine had kissed him. And he didn't look very pleased about it. But I was still heartbroken.
Tyler looked into my eyes, rage burning in them. "What." He whispered. "How could that dickhead do this to you!"
He came over and gave me a hug, making me smile at how much he cared.
"What'd you do?"
I looked up at him with a smirk. "What do you think I did? I ran away from there as fast as I could. That's how you found me isn't it?"
He sighed and went over to sit back down at the table. "Poor Gracie. Change of subject perhaps? There's the school dance tomorrow night, and since Caroline will be too busy organising the thing, I was hoping we could party all night?"
A cheeky grin lit up his face, and I returned it, laughing at his eagerness. Some fun was just what I needed. I nodded.
"Sure Ty. Sounds fantastic." I winked, and drained my coffee cup.

I got home, in a happy mood, smiling at my mother and Dan as I walked into the house, and skipped up the stairs. I danced into my bedroom, turning up the music loud, and jumping around while chucking my PJ's on.
Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted an envelope on my bed. I halted to a stop, and crept over, daintily picking it up.
It was obviously from a Mikaelson, seeing the special letter paper they used, and old-fashioned linking.
I opened up the seal, and read the words.
"
Grace.
You are the most important thing in my life. Too tell the truth love, I have never cared about anyone as much as I care for you.
What happened tonight, must have hurt you deeply. But I assure you, it isn't what it seems. I hope you can forgive me. Or let me have a chance to talk to you.
I need to see your face again. I'm having withdrawals.
~Kol
P.s~ Klaus bit Katherine
"
I sighed and fell onto my bed, staring up at the glow-in-the-dark stars on my ceiling.
I didn't know what to do. I loved Kol a lot. I was heartbroken, sad, sorrowful, horrified, every bad word in the book.
But I guess, now that Klaus bit her, there is no chance of him healing her. So she was technically gone. Forever.
I decided to give Kol another chance. I had been so tough on him lately, not showing him the love which he deserved. But he would have to wait. I was going to put him through that, at least.
I brushed the envelope off the bed, and snuggled under the covers. It was only 8.00, but my mind was exhausted, and I needed to get out of the world for a few hours and clear my head.
I closed my eyes to drift into a slumber, a peaceful sleep, when I heard 2 pairs of feet land in through my window.
I huffed and rolled over. "Kol..."
I stopped dead as I saw the faces of my visitors.
The girl smiled, although it came out as a grimace, as I could see the horrible bite mark on her back growing. Her resemblance to Eleana made me flinch, as did the boy standing next to her. Harry tried to smile, but he also had scars showing.
"Grace. I don't believe we've formally met. I am Katerina Petrova."
