00:59, 12 February 2024„Minnie, the breakfast is on the table in the kitchen, please come out and go eat," Jisung said quietly as he stood in front of his best friend's room. They haven't talked to each other since what happened last night.
Why? It was simple. Jisung wanted to give Seungmin some space, and the younger was simply shy to say sorry. After he realised that he maybe is attached to his best friend, everything just seemed difficult for Seungmin.
„You haven't eaten your dinner yesterday, you must be hungry. Maybe we can talk about what happened yesterday?" Jisung tried for the second time, still standing in front of the door of Seungmin's bedroom.
Seungmin slowly opened the door, his eyes downcast as he took in Jisung's concerned expression. Without saying a word, he stepped forward and wrapped his arms around his friend, burying his face in Jisung's shoulder. Jisung's eyes widened in surprise at the sudden gesture, but he quickly returned the hug, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.
After a few moments, Seungmin pulled back slightly and looked up at Jisung, his eyes filled with emotion. "I'm sorry, Jisung," he whispered, his voice barely audible. Jisung reached up and gently cupped Seungmin's cheek, his touch tender and understanding.
"It's okay, Seungmin," Jisung replied softly, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I understand. Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what."
Seungmin nodded, feeling a weight lifted off his shoulders as he finally let out the apology that had been weighing on his heart.
As Jisung wrapped his arms around Seungmin, the younger boy closed his eyes and allowed himself to sink into the embrace. He could feel the warmth of Jisung's body against his own, the steady rise and fall of his chest as they held each other close. And then, he felt it - Jisung's gentle touch on his hair and cheeks, a tender caress that sent shivers down his spine.
Seungmin's heart clenched at the realization of his own feelings for Jisung, a mix of longing and guilt swirling in his chest. He couldn't bear the thought of causing any pain to his best friend, especially knowing that Jisung was growing closer to Minho. The burning ache in his heart seemed to grow with each passing moment, a knot of emotions that threatened to consume him.
Despite the turmoil within him, Seungmin couldn't help but revel in the comfort of Jisung's touch, a fleeting moment of solace in the midst of his internal struggle. And as they stood there, locked in a silent embrace, Seungmin silently prayed for strength to navigate the tangled web of emotions that threatened to tear him apart.
Jisung felt Seungmin tense slightly in his arms, and he pulled back slightly to look into his friend's eyes. He could see the turmoil and pain reflected in Seungmin's gaze, and a pang of worry tugged at his heart. Without saying a word, he gently guided Seungmin towards the kitchen, where a simple breakfast awaited them.
As they sat down at the table, Jisung poured them both a cup of tea and placed a plate of food in front of Seungmin. He watched as Seungmin picked at his food, his mind clearly elsewhere. Jisung knew that they needed to talk about what had happened, to address the unspoken tensions that hung between them.
"Seungmin," Jisung began, his voice soft and careful. "I want you to know that you can always talk to me about anything. Whatever is on your mind, I'm here for you. I'm not going to judge you." Seungmin looked up, his eyes searching Jisung's face for reassurance. I'm here for you.
After a moment of hesitation, Seungmin finally spoke. "Jisung, I... I need to tell you something. It's been weighing on me for a while now, and I can't keep it to myself any longer." His voice was barely above a whisper, but Jisung leaned in closer, giving Seungmin his full attention.
And as the words spilled out, the two friends found themselves opening up to each other in a way they never had before. In that moment of honesty and vulnerability, they began to unravel the tangled emotions that had been keeping them apart.
Seungmin took a deep breath, steeling himself for what he was about to say. The words felt like a heavy weight on his chest, but he knew that he couldn't keep them bottled up any longer.
„Jisung.. I.. Oh my gosh, I think I am in lo-"
Seungmin's confession was abruptly cut off by the sudden ringing of Jisung's phone, causing both of them to startle. Jisung looked at Seungmin apologetically before picking up the phone with a sigh. After a brief conversation, Jisung's expression shifted, and he turned to Seungmin with a regretful look.
"I'm sorry, Seungmin. I have to take this call, it's important," Jisung said hurriedly, his voice tinged with disappointment. "We will finish our conversation later, I promise."
Seungmin felt a pang of disappointment and frustration as Jisung quickly excused himself and left the table, disappearing into another room to take the call. The weight of his unspoken feelings hung heavy in the air as Seungmin sat there, feeling a mix of emotions swirling within him.
As the minutes ticked by, Seungmin couldn't shake the sense of uncertainty and unease that lingered in the wake of their interrupted conversation. He couldn't help but wonder what Jisung's sudden departure meant, whether it was a sign of hesitation or simply a matter of timing.
Despite the disheartening turn of events, Seungmin knew that they would have to address the conversation later, that the lingering emotions between them would not simply fade away with Jisung's departure.
And as he sat alone at the table, the echoes of his unspoken confession still ringing in his ears, Seungmin braced himself for the inevitable reckoning that awaited them when they finally had the chance to talk.He was stabbing the pancakes with a fork, not being hungry in this situation.
After ending the call, Jisung turned back to Seungmin with a regretful expression. "I'm really sorry, Seungmin, but I have to go now. I really can't cancel it," he explained, his tone filled with apologetic sincerity. „It's really important."
What's more important than your own best friend?
„It's alright," Seungmin nodded, trying to hide his disappointment and unease as Jisung hurriedly gathered his things and made his way towards the door. He watched in silence as his best friend left the apartment, the weight of their interrupted conversation still heavy on his mind.
As the door clicked shut behind Jisung, Seungmin was once again left alone in the quiet apartment, the lingering echoes of their unfinished conversation hanging in the air. He felt a sense of emptiness settle around him, the weight of his unspoken feelings pressing down on his chest.
Alone and lost in his thoughts, Seungmin couldn't help but feel a wave of uncertainty wash over him. He knew that the conversation they had started needed to be finished, that the emotions he had been struggling to contain needed to be addressed. But with Jisung gone, he was left with nothing but the silence and the echo of his own conflicted heart.
Watching his best friend walk out the door, leaving him alone once again, a rush of emotions overwhelmed Seungmin. He felt a lump form in his throat, the weight of his unspoken feelings threatening to suffocate him.
Struggling to hold back tears, Seungmin reached out to his circle of friends, hoping to find solace in their presence. He dialed Chan's number first, then Felix, and then Changbin, but none of them were available to answer his call. The feeling of isolation and loneliness crept in as Seungmin realized he had no one to turn to in that moment of vulnerability.
Just as Seungmin felt like he was on the verge of breaking down, a last-minute idea struck him. With trembling hands, he dialed his number, his heart racing with uncertainty. As the phone rang, Seungmin prayed silently for a glimmer of hope, for someone to be there for him in his time of need.
After a few moments, a lovely yet raspy voice came through the line, a sense of concern evident in his tone. Seungmin's voice cracked as he spoke, the floodgates of his emotions finally breaking open as tears streamed down his face.
„Hello?" the person on the other side of the phone said, he was most likely woken up by Seungmin.
The younger felt a rush of relief wash over him as he finally heard a familiar voice on the other end of the line.
"Hyunjin, it's me, Seungmin," he choked out, tears streaming down his face. "I... I need someone to talk to. Can we.. meet up?"
Hyunjin's voice softened with understanding as he reassured Seungmin that he would be there for him. In that moment of despair and vulnerability, Seungmin felt a flicker of hope ignite within him, knowing that he wasn't truly alone. And as he made plans to meet Hyunjin, he clung to the glimmer of solace that their friendship brought him, a beacon of light in the darkness of his shattered heart.
„Meet me at my apartment? Minho went out with Jisung anyway."
„Oh.." he paused for a moment „Yeah, sounds.. sounds great to me."
It's really important, I have to pick it up.
It's really important, I can't cancel it Seungmin.
Did Jisung really choose someone else over his own best friend, that was like a family to him?
„Great! I'll send you my address, okay? Arrive safely, I'll meet you on the way, alright?"
