Chapter 13: Everything Changes

Destiny's P.O.V

"Morning princess" My brother says taking a sip from his coffee already putting on his shoes. I wore a short blue summer dress with black flats. I'm already ready to get outside and explore this town. I feel so high maintenance, it's not even funny. It's bullshit.

"Imagine Dez running in a long dress towards her throne" Eric teases walking into the kitchen. 

"Ughh" I make a discomfort noise and he laughs along with Ethan. 

"I have to adjust to this." I say getting up. 

"Where's Zayn?" Skyler walks into the kitchen with Slade trailing behind her.

"Here." Zayn throws a hand in the air and grabs a muffin. He's wearing jeans with a blue short sleeved shirt that says "I Believe In You", a black beanie over his head, and black high tops. I chuckle at his laziness and we all start walking out the doors. There was a limo waiting for us below the steps to the entrance and I enter the vehicle being pushed in by Ethan and Eric.

"Ouch!" I say as Ethan sits on my lap on purpose. 

"Oh, is anyone sitting here? No? Ok." Ethan remains on my lap with Eric sitting beside me, and Zayn in front. I wonder what to feel at this moment. I honestly don't know. It's kind of scary entering the kingdom you're going to be a princess in. What if they don't like me? What if I'm rejected or not accepted? It's all confusing, but I have Zayn to get me through it all. I smile.

"Nervous?" Zayn asks with a amused smile on his face. 

"Kind of. You?" I ask. 

"PFT. Get out of here." He chuckles but then he stops. 

"Really?" 

"Ok, maybe a little bit." A grin splashes across his adorable face.

"Imagine if a witch made a voodoo doll out of Vlad." Skyler jokes. 

"What?! How could you say that?" Vlad looks a little scared and childish. It is pretty funny. 

"Just imagine" Skyler waves her hands in front of her. 

"Take it back. That's horrid" Vlad looks out the window from both sides. Everyone chuckles.

"We are here." The chauffeur says as he pulls up to a crowded town. It is so beautiful. There were beautiful shops saying "Cafe" , and I could smell the flavor of sweet bread and foods that I wanted to try. I step out of the limo with the help of Zayn who is now holding my hand.  

"Welcome Prince Malik" A soldier says bowing and nodding towards Zayn direction before turning towards me. 

"Welcome to the family Princess Malik" He says giving me a warm smile and kissing my hand. 

I smile and stare nervously at Zayn who was trying not to laugh. As Zayn and I walked in the front, the rest of the pack followed behind us. Women gave me warm smiles and giggly waves while the men nodded and bowed. This town was full of different races. No humans, all werewolves.

"Prince Malik? May we please have a word?" A tall older man walks towards us, and Zayn immediately freezes.  

"What do you want?" His voice stiff and calm. 

"I need to talk to you." The older man says. He has a black beard, hazel eyes, and skin that looks exactly like Zayns.  

"Ah yes. Ethan and Eric." He commands and they immediately stand by his side. 

"Make sure Destiny is with you two at all time. Take her around the town." Zayn says before nodding at me and walking away with the strange man.

Zayn's P.O.V

I recognized the man from anywhere. He wasn't exactly supposed to be here, but he wasn't exactly banned from the kingdom completely. 

"Josef, what brings you here?" I ask him. 

"Just here with Irene and Adam to celebrate the new Princess's arrival" He says looking over at the town. Irene is Adam's sister. They are both popular among the people of our town, but they don't like getting too close to people. 

"Why are you here Josef? I ask memories of me and him playing at the beach. He was like another father to me until my father told me the story of them being sworn enemies. 

"Your father and I haven't been telling you the truth." Josef says. 

"What the hell are you talking about?" I say now looking into his eyes. 

"It is not my place to tell you just yet." He strokes his beard and looks down at the floor.

"I hope you are not here to cause trouble." I blurt. 

"Hm?" He finally looks up. 

"I loved you. Like my own father. Until you went and betrayed my father." I try to sound calm and not nervous. 

"No one betrayed your father." He snaps. "Sit". He points at the chair at a table nearby, and we both sit down. 

"What do you mean?" I demand an answer. 

"We had to lie about being friends with you father. We were ambushed one day by a group called The Romans. Me and your father had to separate each other to keep our own families safe. If we had contact with each other, they would demand information." He says moving in his seat. 

"Why does that even matter?" I ask sitting back not wanting to hear anymore. 

"Because they threatened to kill you Zayn!" Josef practically yells.

I sit there in silence. 

"They knew that you were going to become the prince and your father purposely banished me from his presence to keep me safe. I had no other choice Zayn." He looks at me. 

"Adam was at the party the other day, and I sent him because I wanted to know what you looked like. I haven't seen you in 3 years, and your father sacrificed a lot to keep our family safe. We sacrificed a lot to keep you and Destiny safe. The Romans will never stop." He finishes. 

"Why choose to come here now? After all these years." My voice cracks. 

"Your father sent me a message requesting that we put an end to hiding our friendship. You are Alpha. You are trained and strong now. You have the pack, and you have Destiny. It is time that we put this nonsense behind us and work together to defeat The Romans" He says with so much confidence.

"How do I trust you?" It comes out as a whisper. I feel like I didn't even open my mouth. 

"Your father has the answer to that." He gets up and pushes in the chair. 

"Till that happens, I'll be waiting for a proper welcoming." He walks away and leave me there to think long and hard about what else my father has been lying to me about.

Destiny's P.O.V

I walk towards the garden halfway through the town. 

"Where are we going?" Ethan grumbles. 

"I want to visit the garden just over there" I say walking ahead. 

"I'm getting kind of hungry." Eric says patting his stomach. 

"There's a bakery right across from the garden. Buy yourselves something" I say before turning around to face them. 

"Zayn told us to watch you though." Eric looks around and stands an inch close to me. His protectiveness humored me. 

"Are you sure you'll be alright?" Ethan asks looking at me. 

"I'm not 12. I can take care of myself" I walk away from them towards the garden.

I walk through what may be called a pathway of roses and sunflowers. It is beautiful here. I cross over to where the ponds and rivers are and stare at the trees. The wind blowing their leaves so gently and peacefully. I walk over to the pond and stare at my reflection through the water. It's funny actually. This place is so peaceful and not too loud. Everyone seems to get along and it's a fun place to get together with friends and have a cup of tea. But there is always some evil in something good. Right?

"Beautiful aye?" The reflection of a girl with gray eyes and hair that was a light blue. She remind me of someone. 

"Yes. It very much is." I am startled by her energetic but soft voice. 

"I don't see a lot of people who come here to admire the nature." She says smiling into the pond. 

"I don't meet a lot of people who do" We both end up chuckling. 

"What is your name?" I ask turning to face her. 

"Oh it's Irene" She says holding out her hand. 

"I'm--" She cuts me off. 

"Destiny. The princess." I take her hand and she finally lets go. 

"You've met my brother before" She finishes noticing the startled expression on my face. 

"Your brother?" Then it hits me. Adam. The gray eyes and the blue hair. Figures. 

"Oh. Adam? How could I be so stupid?" I face palm and she chuckles. 

"No worries. He says you are a pretty good person. The nonjudgmental type." She says beginning to walk away. 

"Are you popular around here?" The random question almost scares me as I catch up to her. 

"Oh yes. I grew up around here. Not that I'm being conceited or arrogant. I don't really like getting too close to anyone. But based on what my brother says about you, I wouldn't mind actually getting to know you more." I stare into her curious filled eyes. She seems like an adventurous person. I smile.

"Do you know Zayn?" I ask. 

"Yes. I grew up with him. Our father and his are best of friends. But I don't want to get too far into that subject. It is not in my place to tell you." She looks away and stares into the sky. 

I wonder what she meant, but I wasn't even going to get into it.

"You should come visit our pack at the castle" I manage to blurt out. Wanting to meet a friend for once other than Skyler and Dawn. 

"Your asking me on a date?" She has a evil grin on her face. I couldn't help but laugh. 

"Do you accept?" I play along. 

"Why of course!! I though you would never ask." She flips her hair and sasses her way out of the garden. I chuckle and follow behind her. 

"It was nice meeting you. I'll stop by the castle tomorrow. I have to find my brother." She says looking over at me. 

"He's here too?" I ask surprised.  

"Yes. He runs off to his own little private world. If you think outside the box, you'll know where to find him." She says before running off into the crowd of people.

"Who was that?" Eric says coming up from behind me. 

"You scared me shitless" I say spinning around startled. 

"We bought you some sweet bread" Ethan hands me a plate with sugar coated bread on top. I take a bite and immediately feel like I'm in heaven. 

"Who was there girl you were talking to?" They both ask at the same time. 

"Spying on me much?" I ask after swallowing the food down. 

"Just keeping an eye out" Eric says. 

"Irene. She's Adam's sister." I say. 

"I'm not sure if Zayn is going to allow you to hang out with her." Eric warns. 

"What do people have against them? They are cool people. You've never met them" I say They stand there staring at me in silence. I know they are worried about me , but they shouldn't be that way.We start heading back to the entrance of the town and I realize that we were separated from the pack. 

I wonder where Skyler is until I hear squealing in the background.

"OMG. Guess what I bought us?" She holds up bags of candy, accessories, and food. 

"Smells delicious" I say. 

"We can eat it when we get to the castle" She says heading back into the limo along with Ethan and Eric. Vlad, Slade, and my brother are messing with each other when they approach the limo.

I see Zayn walking over with a serious expression. 

"Hey" I say kissing him on the cheek. 

"I have to tell you about what happened today." He says looking rather defeated. 

"What's wrong?" I ask worried. 

"We shouldn't talk about it here, let's go." He grabs for my hand , and I take it wondering what this talk is going to be about.
