Chapter 58

Ryan's POV ~

I'm sitting at my desk doing my homework. I was just finishing up and getting ready for bed when Soph texted me. It was a message saying good luck if you need me text me and i'll help here's Jenna's number. I laughed at her message because it was cute. She's just cute... Anyway. Moving on to Jenna; i've seen her around school a few times throughout the year. She seems to be pretty quiet and shy but really nice. She is beautiful too, she has the best smile. I finally hyped up the balls to text her but then realized it was late and she probably wasn't up.

~Texts~

To Jenna ~"Hey its Ryan the guy who helped up pick up your books after softball tryouts."

A few minutes passed and i got no response. Thinking she was sleeping i was going to just go to bed. But then she texted me back.

From Jenna ~"Hey :) i remember & how did you get my number? =P"

To Jenna ~";) i got it from Soph"

From Jenna ~"Ohh well i'll have to thank her for that =)"

I couldn't help but control the smile on my face. Was she really happy i was talking to her? Like i feel like this is a trick... Haha i hope not.

To Jenna ~"Wat does that mean? :}"

From Jenna ~"Im glad u have my # :)"

To Jenna ~"Well im glad you're glad that i have ur #"

From Jenna ~"Haha sooo.... Whatcha doing? :}"

To Jenna ~"Just finished up hmwrk... U?" Quickly after i sent that text i sent another. "Want to met out front of school 2mrrow? We can walk to 1st period together :)"

From Jenna ~"Same was just about to go to bed when u txted me & sure :)"

To Jenna ~"Alright then i'll let u get to bed then & great :)"

From Jenna ~"I dont haveee to go to bed yet ;)"

That was pretty much my night. We stayed up texting until about 2 in the morning. She wound up falling asleep which was adorable. After about 15 minutes of no response to my last text i had sent her she finally texted back saying,

From Jenna ~"Srry i fell asleep haha"

To Jenna ~"Its all good we should go to bed now anyway ;) i'll see u in the AM. Night :)"

From Jenna ~"=) sounds perfect, nightttt!!"

Right before i passed out i texted Soph.

To Soph <3 (that's how she's still in my phone...) ~ "Sorry ik ur probably sleeping but i wanted to thank u for Jenna's number we've been talking all night :) well i guess i'll see u in school 2mrrow, night."

~Next Morning (At school)~

Sophia's POV ~

"So Ryan texted me at like 2 this morning saying he and Jenna were texting all night." I said to Dylan with my head in my locker.

"That's good." Dylan said.

"Who even is this girl?" Gracie asked.

"I'll point her out to you later." I said while closing my locker. I turned and saw Ryan and Jenna walking into the building together. "Or now," I laughed.

Gracie turned her attention to the front door. When she saw her she nodded her head. They were talking and laughing. He seemed to be happy which made me happy.

"Oh i've seen her before she's pretty." Gracie said. Vinnie was just in his own world not even paying attention.

They walked passed us not even processing we were there. The four of us walked to 1st period. Class didn't start for about another 10 minutes. We were all standing around talking. A substitute teacher came in and everyone got excited. Following the sub coming in Ryan came running through the door. I was standing leaning against the wall in the back of the class. He ran up to me and picked me up spinning me around in a circle.

"Oh my god i love you so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!" Ryan yelled.

"Ry-ryan! Can't breathe!" I said.

"Sorry." He said while putting me down.

"What did i do?" I laughed.

"Jenna wants to go on a date with me." Ryan said.

"Congratulations." I smiled.

He looked like a 3 year old in a candy store. His eyes were wide with excitement. We were all having a conversation when he tapped my shoulder and pulled me to the side.

"I need help... I don't no where to take her." Ryan said.

"Well why don't you take her to the boardwalk? It worked for me." I chuckled.

"See i thought that but... I don't want to bring her there because that's like - in my mind our place ya know? I don't want it to be anyone else's." Ryan said. I sighed but then chuckled.

"I know what you mean..." I said. "How about just down town. You can look around the shops, get some food and stuff. Just make it relaxed."

"You think she'll like it?" He asked.

"Yes." I smiled. Ryan hugged me tight.

"Thank you for helping me move on Soph." He said.

"I lov- i care about you to much to not help you be happy." I said.

~After school~

Ryan's POV ~

"So i'll pick you up around....?" I said but wasn't sure what time to say.

"8" Jenna said.

"That late on a school night?" I chuckled.

"What can i say i'm a rebel," She laughed. She had such a cute laugh. "But honestly 8 is fine if that's fine with you. My parents are out of town for the week for a business trip and i'm home alone so the more time i spend with someone the better." She smiled.

"So how about i get you earlier and keep you out later." I smirked, she looked at me and laughed.

"That actually, sounds perfect." Jenna smiled. The bell rang which meant the buses were about to leave. "Shit i'm gonna miss the bus. Just text me when you're on your way."

"Wait," I said grabbing her arm. "I can drive you home if you want." I said.

"Really?" She asked.

"Yeah it wouldn't be a problem." I said.

"Thanks." She smiled.

We walked out to my car. She was really quiet and didn't say much at first. But once we started driving she started talking.

"So are you Soph's brother?" She asked. I just laughed and shuck my head.

"No actually i'm her ex..." I said.

"Oh sorry..." She said placing her hands in her lap.

"No, no it's fine we're good." I said. "We're friends we have been for a long time. We dated for 2 years it just wound up not working out..." I said.

"What happened?" She asked. I didn't want to tell her because i didn't want to scare her away. But i also didn't want to lie and have the truth come out later and have it cause a problem.

"Um... If i tell the truth do you promise to trust me?" I asked. I came to a stop light and looked at her.

"Yes." She said. I took a deep breath and started to drive again.

"We were best friends since like elementary school. We started dating Sophomore year. Everything was good for about a little over a year, then my grandpa got diagnosed with cancer and we we're really close. Like closer then i am with my parents. I fell into depression and got myself into some bad stuff. I started doing drugs and drinking every now and then... But i let it take control of me and it was bad. I started... Abusing Soph." I paused because i was getting upset. I looked at Jenna who was just looking at my with trusting eyes. "Um... I don't know where you live." I said when i realized i was just driving around.

"We can just got to your house... If that's okay." Jenna said.

"Even after i just told you what i told you?" I asked.

"The story didn't end yet." She smiled. "I trust you." I opened my mouth but she cut me off. "You guys wouldn't be good enough for me to think you were brother and sister if the story didn't end well." She said.

I pulled over and parked on the side of the road. We were just looking at each other. I didn't even know what to say to her. I leaned in placing my hand on her cheek and softly placing my lips on hers. She brought her hand up and interlocked my fingers with hers. We pulled apart and her hand was shaking and her bottom lip was trembling but she had a smile on her face.

"Was that your first kiss?" I asked. She just nodded. "Were you okay with it?" I asked, she nodded again.

"Can i hear the end of the story now?" She asked.

"Can we get to my place and then i'll finish?" I asked. Jenna nodded and i started driving again.

When we got to my house i had her put her stuff in my room. Then we went into the kitchen. I brought out some snacks and gave her a drink. Sitting next to her i continued the story.

"So to finish my story - we were dating for just almost another year when Soph broke up with me. She had finally had enough of my treating her like crap. I would hit her, i cheated on her, i just wasn't myself. When she dumped me i was so mad... I told everyone in school that she was a bitch who didn't know what she lost and that she was stupid for dumping me and that she was a virgin and didn't want to sleep with me... It was true part of the reason she dumped me is because she was a virgin; i was mad she didn't want to have sex with me... But who would want to have sex with someone who abuses you. Anyway it wound up ruining her life and i felt horrible. People made fun of her and stopped being friends with her. She lost everyone but Gracie who is still her best friend. Then we stopped talking. This year Dylan - her boyfriend - moved here from New Jersey and well now she's happy. I'm glad she found someone who is perfect for her. But i was jealous because i still loved her. I wound up getting her and my best friend Vinnie into a car accident and thats when my family and everyone actually found out i was doing drugs and had abused Soph. I was sent to rehab and therapy. I've been clean since October. But once everyone found out the real story of why we broke up because i was abusive i lost all my friends. One day i was sitting alone at lunch when Soph came out and sat with me... To make a long story short we became friends again. Our friendship grew again and i got my best friend back. There is something else but its more personal to Soph and i don't want to go around talking about it because only a few people know and she wants to keep it that way. - anyway i think that's all of it. If you're still interested and don't hate me for my past then, thanks but if you're not i understand." I said while rubbing my face.

"What happened with your grandpa?" She asked. I looked up at her and smiled softly.

"He actually recently just lost his battle..." I said.

"I'm sorry for your loss." She said. "Also why did you try and kill yourself?" She asked.

"How do you - i didn't say-" Jenna cut me off.

"It was on the news." She said.

"Well without telling Soph's confidential secret, i almost lost her as a friend because she thought it would be good if we were no longer friends because of some stuff we went through and i just couldn't handle it... My pop had passed right before she told me this so i lost 2 important people in my life... So i tried taking my life, but i didn't thank god. I came to a realization that i have a purpose in life and need to be here. That i would move on and find someone i will love and will be okay. Soph will always be my first love but she moved on and now it's time i did too. So we are great friends again and i'm moving on." I said.

"Well you might think i'm crazy but I'm still interested." Jenna smiled.

"Seriously?" I asked.

"You were honest from the beginning. I understand having a rough past because i have a rough family past." She said.

"Do you want to just stay here?" I asked looking up from the table to her. She made a weird but cute face and smiled.

"Yeah," She laughed.

"Lets move on to a happier subject." I said.

Jenna smiled and sat back in her seat. We looked at each other and our eyes met. Both of us leaning in, we kissed. It was deep, long and hard. We pulled apart and her forehead met mine. Her hands were now placed on the back of my neck. Jenna climbed out of her seat onto my lap and pressed her lips to mine again.

"This is a way happier subject." Jenna said against my lips, we both laughed.

"Agreed." I said. I leaned back a little and smiled. Jenna pecked my lips with her hands placed on my cheeks. "Do you really like me?" I asked.

"Why would you ask that?" She asked.

"Because i feel like if you tell someone what i just told you they would lose interest..." I said.

"Ryan... People make mistakes, you were going through a rough time and made some mistakes. They turned out to be very bad but in the long run you fixed them. From there you're moving on and trying to be better. I'm willing to be with any guy who has that attitude." Jenna smiled. "Plus you're super cute and even though you most likely didn't know i existed until yesterday i've had a secret crush on you since i was in middle school and you left for high school." She said.

Wow. She's just perfect. It also just hit me in our age difference that i'll be graduating and she won't. I'm skipping to far ahead... Who even knows if she wants to date.

"Jenna..." I said.

"Ryan..." She smiled.

"Is it crazy if i said i'm falling for you?" I asked.

"No," She laughed. "Because i'm falling for you too."

"Do you want to go up to my room where it's more comfortable?" I asked.

Jenna climbed off my lap and pulled on my arm to bring me upstairs. I laughed and got up following her. She let go of my arm. I ran towards her and picked he up throwing her over my shoulder and brought her into my room. I placed her on my bed. She was laughing uncontrollably. She laid on her back and placed her hands on her stomach and stared at the ceiling. I laid down next to her. Both of our laughter dying down.

Jenna pressed her lips to mine. I felt my face becoming warm and i felt my heart racing. As the kiss got more intense we were interrupted by a knock on my door.

"Ry, you in there?" My mom yelled through the door. I groaned and Jenna giggled.

"Yes!" I said sitting up, Jenna followed in the act. My mom opened the door and came in. "Can i help you?" I asked kind of annoyed because she interrupted us.

"Ooo who's this?" My mom asked. Jenna laughed and placed her forehead on my shoulder and wrapped her arms around my arm blushing.

"Mom!" I said.

"I'm Jenna." Jenna said looking up.

Jenna's POV ~

"Hi Jenna it's nice to meet you." Ryan's mom said. "Will you be staying for dinner?" She asked.

"Is that okay with you?" I asked to both Ryan and his mom. His mom nodded and Ryan did too.

"Is there anything you're allergic to?" She asked, she's so sweet!

"No i'm good." I laughed.

"Alright well i'll leave you two alone." She said closing the door as she left.

"Sorry about her." Ryan said.

"It's okay she's so nice." I said.

"Umm... I'm confused." Ryan said to his parents.

"We're going out for dinner but you guys can make anything you want help yourself to what you want." His mom said.

"Okay? When will you be back?" Ryan asked.

"Late." His dad said.

"Make sure you get her home in time so she doesn't get in trouble." His mom said.

"Actually my parent's aren't in town right now so i can get home whenever." I said shyly.

"Okay well you guys have fun. We don't want to be late we're meeting up with Heather and Jeff. Night." His mom said. With that they left and we were alone.

"Heather and Jeff?" I asked.

"Sophia's parents." Ryan said.

"Sophia?" I asked.

"Soph..." Ryan said looking at me funny.

"Oh right wow i'm smart. Haha sorry she just told me her name was Soph but i should've put two and two together." I said and shuck my head at my stupidity.

"Are you hungry?" Ryan asked.

"Not really." I said.

I was leaning against the doorway to the kitchen, Ryan was standing in the kitchen. I stuck my hands in my jean pockets and looked at the floor. Next thing i knew i saw two more feet the weren't mine in my field of vision. Ryan placed his finger under my chin and lifted my head softly. I pursed my lips and his bit his bottom lip. Leaning in Ryan kissed me. I felt so warm and excited when his lips met mine. I've never kissed anyone until today but i can't seem to stop wanting to kiss him. His hands moved to my hips and my hands were tangled in the back of his hair. Ryan placed his hands under my butt and picked me up. Wrapping my legs tightly around his waist i pulled back catching my breath. My back was still pressed against the wall.

"Ry?" I breathed.

"Uh huh." He said.

"Do you want to go up to your room and-" I couldn't finish my sentence before he put me down and started running for his room.

"Come on!" Ryan said. I smiled and ran after him.

When we got into his room he closed the door. I laid back on his bed. He laid on top of me; his solid body between my legs, his one hand on the side of my neck while he kissed the other side of my neck. He hit a sweet spot and i moaned. I felt a smile form on his lips. Ryan came up from my neck and kissed me. My hands were exploring his toned body. I tugged at his shirt and helped him pull it off. After a few minutes he pulled off my shirt. Now i started to get nervous because i've never done anything before, but there's something about Ryan that just feels right...

"Are you-okay with-this...?" Ryan asked with his nose squished to mine.

"I-i..." I stuttered. I was in shock this was even happening. "Yes." I managed to finally say.

Continuing to de-cloth each other; Ryan reached in his drawer and pulled out a condom. Now i felt like my heart was gonna explode. I feel ready but i don't... Maybe i should just say something he'll understand. But just look at his body how can you say no to that? He softly placed his hand on my cheek.

"Are you sure you are okay with this and want to do it?" He asked. "It's gonna be kind of uncomfortable..."

"I know it will..." I said.

"So is that a yes?" Ryan chuckled.

"Yes," I said.

Ryan pressed his lips to mine and then looked me in the eyes. He leaned the top half of his body (like his head) towards me. I wrapped my arms around him tightly. Ryan slowly pushed himself inside of me. It hurt so freaking bad. I moaned in pain and gripped his shoulders tighter. He stopped moving once he was fully inside of me. He backed up and wiped the tears that had fallen on my cheeks, then he pecked my lips.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"It-hurts." I groaned.

"Don't worry it won't in a few minutes." Ryan said sincerely and kissed my forehead.

He slowly slid back which also hurt like a bitch. He went back and forth a few times starting to go faster. After a while with him going faster it didn't really hurt as much.

Once we were done he let me shower. I must be out of my mind. I just lost my virginity to someone who i've only actually known like a day. But it just felt right. Ryan just feels right. Quickly finishing up my shower i went back into his room. I put my bra back on and he lent me a shirt and sweatpants.

Walking into his room he had 2 grilled cheeses. I smiled and sat next to him on the end of his now blanket less bed. He handed me a sandwich.

"Thanks, and thanks for letting me borrow your clothes. I'll get them back to you tomorrow." I said.

"No problem and don't worry about it you can keep them." Ryan said while taking a bit of his grilled cheese.

"I'm not taking your clothes." I said.

"Yes you are because i refusing on taking them back." He said like a stubborn 3 year old. He always made me laugh by barely doing anything at all.

"Fine." I smiled. He kissed my temple and blushed.

"So when we finish eating i can bring you home." Ryan said.

"Can i spend the night here?" I asked.

"I-uh-i...if you want to..." He said.

"Yeah i do, i don't like being all alone." I said.

When we finished i cuddled up close to Ryan. I had my head on his chest and his arms wrapped around me. I smiled, i didn't know what we 'were' yet but whatever it is i like it.

~Next Day (At school)~

Sophia's POV ~

Dylan wasn't feeling well so he's coming in late. So it was just Gracie, and Vinnie at my locker.

"So is the team list posted yet?" Gracie asked.

"I don't think so i think probably later." I said. Just then Austin came down the hall with a paper.

"Aye Johnson! Congrats." Austin winked handing me a paper.

It was the team list. Next to my name said captain. I smiled and handed the paper back to him. Then i did a double take and took that paper back.

"Jenna's co captain?" I asked.

"Yeah." Austin smiled.

"Awesome," I smiled.

"Well i'm gonna go post the list. Also the baseball team is posted." Austin said.

"Okay i'll let Dylan know when he gets here." I said.

With that Austin left to post the list. We have a sub in first period again so we're just hanging by the lockers until first period actually starts. Just then Ryan and Jenna walked up to us; They were holding hands. Jenna softly smiled because she only knew me.

"Hey," Ryan said.

"Hi." Gracie and Vinnie said in unison.

"Hey." I smiled. Jenna didn't say anything so i introduced her. "So this is Gracie and her boyfriend Vinnie." I said.

"Hi." Jenna said.

"I'll be back guys i'm gonna walk her to her first period." Ryan said.

"Oh wait!" I said excited. "Jenna the team list is posted." I said.

"Did you see it?" She asked.

"Yes." I smiled.

"I didn't make it did i..." She said sadly.

"Girl are you crazy you did amazing!" I said.

"So i made it?" She asked.

"Jenna you're co captain!" I said.

"Seriously?!" She asked with the biggest smile on her face.

"Yes!" I said. The bell rang and we all sighed.

"Bye guys." Jenna said.

"Bye." We all said. Ryan walked off with her to her first class and we all went to our first period.

"So what do you think the deal is with those two?" Vinnie asked.

"Not sure i'm gonna ask him later." I said. Dylan walked into class looking half dead. "Dyl you look horrible." I said.

"wow thanks..." Dylan said in a groggy tone.

"Awe babe..." I got up and hugged him. I pecked his lips and he groaned.

"I don't want you to get sick i feel like hell." Dylan said.

"Why didn't you stay home?" I asked.

"The baseball team list is being posted today." Dylan said.

"It's already posted. Maybe you should go see it and go home." I said wrapping my arms around him. Ryan walked in and sat by us.

"Did you see the list yet?" Ryan asked Dylan.

"No man i just go here." Dyl said.

"Oh dude you sound-"

"Horrible i know..." Dylan said.

"Do you want me to tell you?" Ryan asked.

"Yeah." Dylan said.

"You made captain." Ryan said.

"No fucking way." Dylan said.

"Yeah dude seriously look." Ryan said taking out his phone and showing him a picture of the list.

"Congrats Dyl!" I said.

"So wait i'm captain and you're co captain?" Dylan asked.

"Yeah actually." Ryan laughed.

~Lunch~

It was just Ryan and I. Dylan went home because he felt like crap. Gracie had to make up a test, and Vinnie was working on a project in the library.

"So you and Jenna, what's up with that?" I asked.

"I don't really know." Ryan said.

"Come on Ryan." I said. He smiled and looked at the table.

"I really like her." Ryan said.

"I'm glad." I smiled.

"She stayed over my house last night." He said.

"Nice, where did you actually wind up taking her?" I asked.

"My house..." He laughed. "After school we just wound up going to my place and stayed there all night."

"What'd you guys do?" I asked.

"Well..." He blushed.

"Awe Ry..." I said shaking my head.

"We were both okay with it!" He said in defense.

"That's not what i'm saying Ry." I said annoyed.

"Are you mad at me for having sex with her?" He asked.

"No," I said.

"Then what are you saying?" He asked.

"Ugh i'm saying i didn't think you forced her you didn't have to get so defensive." I said.

"Sorry... I didn't mean to come off like that." Ryan said.

"No it's okay... I'm sorry i- ugh never mind..." I sighed.

"Is something bothering you?" He asked.

"No." I said, he just looked at me.

"Bullshit you're lying." He said.

"Am not."

"Are too."

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"AM NOT!"

"Are too! I know you to well Soph."

"Fine! You want me to admit it's hard to see you move on in front of me and that i now know how you felt when Dylan and i started dating and doing stuff in front of you and i feel bad for being mad at you for being mad at me for moving on!" I whisper yelled.

"Soph..." Ryan sighed.

"It's whatever sorry i freaked out." I said.

"Sophia."

"What?"

"We both moved on." Ryan said. It actually hit me then and there for the first time. We're fully done with each other. I smiled really big and Ryan grew a funny luck.

"Best friends again." I said.

"What?" Ryan said.

"You're my best friend again." I said like a 3 year old in excitement. "There is no more worrying about relationship problems between us because we've both moved on!" I said.

"Yeah...?" Ryan said.

"YAY!" I yelled. I jumped up and hugged him. "I like you better as a friend anyway." I laughed.
