Under The Cars

It had been 2 or 3 days since the incident at the CDC.

We were still on the road, we were stuck behind the long trails of cars who died trying to escape.

We cleared some space to get the rv through, thats when the engine packed up. Dale and glenn stayed to fix it while we all searched the cars for anything salvagable.

I was with carl, thats until glenn came to fetch me, they needed an extra set of hands to repair it.

After we had finished the engine dale resumed his position on top of the RV. We were all clearing cars again.

Suddenly i felt a tug as t-dog started dragging me. I looked around and saw that everybody was running in opposite direction, thats when i saw it.

I hord of atleast 100 walkers. Shit.

People started ducking under cars, me and t-dog ran around before suddenly he stopped, i turned around to see that he had sliced his arm open on a rusty car door.

He was bleeding out. A walker came behind him so i ran over and stabbed it, another came behind it, i took that one out aswell. I signed to t-dog, telling him to lie down. He did so, i took my jacket of and covered his arm with it, to help prevent any walker blood contaminating it. I picked up a body and layed it over him, before laying down and draping one over me aswell.

I held my breath, scared to breath. I was staring under the cars, i could see dad and carl under one, carol and mum under another, and sofia all by herself.

When everybody started running i saw andrea go into the rv and dale lay down on top, and i could also see a walker stumbling inside, i hoped that andrea had put her gun back together.

I poked me head out from under the car to see if it was clear, unfortunetly sofia had aswell, and over their wasnt clear, suddenly, 3 or 4 walkers chased sofia into the woods. Carol tried to go after her but mum held her back, instead i ran after her, then dad came running behind me.

Their were two walkers following sofia, but none of us had any weapons, i loft mine in the RV.

Dad found me then together we found sofia.

I hid with her under an uprooted tree while he led the walkers in the other direction.

I gave the child a comforting smile before holding her hand tight in mine, then we ran.

We got lost, i couldnt figure out what way to go. Suddenly i felt my shoulder jolt, i turned around to see a walker taking a bite out of sofia's neck. I let go of her and rammed the walker into a tree. It pierced through its juts, pinning it on the spot.

I couldnt put the kid down.

Sofia was passed out on the floor, i needed to get her back. But i was terrified, i just got the child killed. I ran.

Yet again, i was running from my fears. I continuosly ran, tears burning my face. I tripped over a couple of times, cutting myself. Evemtually i ran into dad, litraly. He tried to calm me dpwn before asking about sofia, i didnt know what to say, if i say she is dead, then the whole group will hate me. I made a stupid decision. I lied.

I told my father and the whole group that she got spooked and ran away. I told them she was alive and that we will find her. But what made it harder was when carol dropped to the ground in tears. No mpther should lose their child like that, it was horrible.
