Chapter 19

"Wow..." Hermione (O) sucked in a breath. In the wandlight, the cave under the beach was magnificent. Everything was bright silver and reflective - the entire room was lit up as soon as they cast 'Lumos', the light bouncing off of the walls and the floor and every jagged rock in the place. They walked slowly, as if they walked to hard the floor beneath their feet would shatter. They eventually reached a kind of pool, and there was no way around it. The water was bright blue and glowing, the water so still they thought it was glass until there was a drip from the ceiling that made perfect round rippels then faded away. The green spark was over the pond, at the edge waiting for them to cross."Merlin..." Molly (past) breathed. "What is this place?""I... I don't know," Harry (O) replied, looking around them."Can we touch this water?" Ginny (Y) asked, crouching down but Harry (O) yelped;"Don't! We don't know what it could be," he said. His family looked at him curiously and he added, "Remember the Horcrux Cave with Dumbledore?""Right, but... I don't see any Inferi down there." Rolf pointed at the crystal-clear water."Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there," Ron (O) said."Do a revealing spell," Sirius suggested. "It might tell you if it's okay to pass.""Right... revealing spell...""Oh for Heavan's sake, Ron!" Hermione (O) pointed her wand at the water and swished it, saying, "Reveal Your Secret."The water shook, and out of the blue in front of them a small, beat-up boat appeared. A small lantern was clinging onto the bow, giving off a faint yellow light."There's no way we all will fit in there," Deansaid."Let's take turns," Fred (past) suggested."I'll go first," Harry (O) said. "To make sure it's safe.""I'll go as well," Sirius said."And me," Ron (O) said."Let's keep it at that for now, we don't know how much this can take," said Dean."Let's just hope this doesn't break as soon as I step on it..." Sirius muttered.WITH THE KIDS..."We'd better find them quick before it comes down on us," Domi said. The others nodded in agreement. The air had become thick with the smell of water - they knew rain would come any moment. They jogged dow the beach a bit, then Albus pointed at the pile of rocks, the waves crashing against them."Look, it's kind of formed like..." Al trailed off."...like an archway," James finished. The kids shared looks and ran at full speed towards the oddly formed rocks. They saw the steps leading whoever followed them down into the earth and under the beach."Do you think -?" Rose began."Yes," Molly (present) said. "I mean, this is not something Muggles would have randomly on their beach.""I'm sure they're down there," Fred (2) said excidedly.James lit the tip of his wand and went first."Our Mums will be so hacked off we followed them!" Rose groaned. "Yours especially, James!""Well, I can deal with he- OW!" James had tripped over a jagged rock pointing up from the ground. It was almost transparent, the rock - that's why James didn't see it before it was cutting through his shin and hitting it so hard he almost screamed."James, are you okay?!" Scorpius tried to help his friend up - James had to grab Domi's shoulder for support as well, his face screwed up in a grimace."Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!" James breathed out, keeping his right leg off of the ground. "Al, grab my wand..."Albus ran over and picked his brother's wand up from the floor; James had threw it across the ground when he tripped. In the wandlight he saw his jeans were ripped and his whole lower leg was soaked in red, hot, stickey blood."Oh, I knew it! We should go back, we're going to be in so much trouble!" Rose squeaked."I'm okay, I just hit it pretty hard," James said, but as he placed his foot on the ground he winced physically. "I can walk on it, I swear...""We - we should go, I don't think this is good," Domi said, her voice shaking."I'm not leaving without my sister," James said detirmindley. He put his foot on the ground carefully, igoring the pain that shot up his leg the best he could, and he slowly took his hands off of his cousin and Scorpius. Then he started limping ahead, but the others hung back, a bit scared. "Well?" James raised his eyebrows. "Are you coming or not?"The others were surprised James had bounced back so quickly from his injury - but they figured if James could go on with a stiff leg, they could go on with him.WITH LILY...Of course, Lily had no idea where she was. Only that it was cold, and dark, and she couldn't get up. She was too weak.Over the last hour, her exhaustion had finally taken over her. She was hungry, and thirsty, and tired, and hurt - so she blacked out - and stupid her, she blacked out before she got to get any clues on where they were taking her. So the next thing she knew she was laying flat on her face on what felt like cold sand, the sand burning her skin that was exposed to it. But she was too tired to lift a finger, so she just passed out again, her stomach growling and her mouth so dry it tasted horrible.WITH THE PEOPLE WE CALL ADULTS... OH YEAH, AND THEIR LITTLE SELVES...It took awhile, but they got everyone across the glowing pond."I still want to touch that water..." Ginny (Y) trailed off. "Make a bunch of splashes and destroy the glass water effect -""You're morbid," George (Y) let her know. "Now where did that green thing go?""There." Ron (Y) pointed ahead of them - the green ball of sparks was traveling down a dark tunnel, casting an eere green glow down it."I don't like the look of this..." Harry (O) muttered. Then, gripping Ginny's (O) hand in his, he lead them all down that tunnel."Wait - everyone stop!" Arthur said, because as soon as they stepped into the tunnel, their wandlight went out at once, and the green light seemed to dissapear into thin air, and everyone froze."I dunno about you guys," Harry (Y) began slowly, "but does anyone else have that feeling something really bad is about to happen?"There was silence."Nah, I think that's just us," Harry (O) told his younger self."Try to light your wan-" Hermione (Y) began, but she was cut off by the floor beneath them completley dissapearing, and for a moment they were all suspended in mid air."No one... move," Audrey whispered. As if on cue, right after she said that they all fell. Everyone started yelling as the air wipped their faces, and light flashed before their eyes, forcing them shut. They faintly heard Hermione yelling a spell, and then everything froze again, and they stopped screaming, the only sounds that of their breathing and the dripping of water on the walls. They were mere feet from the ground, and all they could hear was the sounds of one another's panting. Then they fell again, hitting the ground."See, third time that spell has save our lives," Hermione (O) breathed, getting up and helping her husband to his feet. (A/N: you know the spell Hermione used in the Deathly Hallows Part 2 when they broke into Gringotts to break their fall? That's what I used there, but I just forgot the incantation.)"Okay, so far we've got weirded out rocks, reflective caves, glowing ponds, dark tunnels, and dissapearing floors," Ginny (O) said, ticking them off on her fingers."I won't be surprised if Fluffy the three-headed dog shows up," Dean said."Oh Merlin, please no," Harry (Y) groaned.
