Chapter 11

05:52, 4 October 2013

What they didn't know was that Peter Pettigrew was in their house, transformed into a rat and hiding. But he could hear everything they said, he knew their plans. The Dark Lord would know them too. * Ginny (O) was in the kitchen, making food as she used her shoulder to hold her phone up to her ear. She was talking to Luna, and was going to call others to get them to help with Lily. "Yes, yes Luna - bring the boys if you want, they're over fifteen, aren't they? It's been too long since I've seen - Rolf? Of course, we need all the help we can get - hold on, I'll call you back, I've got to ask Astoria -" Ginny (O) then called Astoria Malfoy, who was her friend."Did you see the papers?" was the first thing Astoria asked. Ginny (O) sighed. "Yes, of course I did, it's all crap!" The 'Daily Prophet' had written an article on Lily's disappearance - it was half right, saying she was kidnapped, but they missed all the major details like Voldemort took her, Tonks was taken too, stuff like that - and they included an article about Harry bartering with the new Minister, who Ginny (O) decided she didn't like ("That... that little bastard!"). "The new Minister sucks," Ginny (O) said. "Kingsley was better - what did happen to Kingsley?" "No idea," said Astoria. "He left, I guess. I'm going to be over with Draco and Scorpius soon, okay? We're helping." "Thanks. Oh, one last thing - do you have Cho Chang's number? As much as I... adore her I need her help." Astoria gave her Cho's number. Ginny (O) went on to talk to Neville, and when she went to open a cupboard to get a frying pan, screamed and dropped the phone as a big, fat rat came scuttling out of the cupboard. "MERLIN!" she screamed. She could faintly hear Neville's squeaking voice saying her name, but ignored it and tried to swat the rat with the pan. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THA-" "IT'S A RAT!" Ginny (O) squealed to her husband. "Harry - Harry, kill it! Get it out of the house!" Before he could do anything, the rat squeezed itself out the sliding glass door. "Well, we won't get it now," Harry (O) said as their younger selves, James, and Albus rushed in (Teddy had confined himself into his room). Ginny (O) slowly went and picked up her phone from the ground. Neville had hung up. "I got a few people to help," she told them. "Luna, Rolf, Lorcan, Lysander, Neville, Hannah, Astoria, Draco, and Scorpius. I got Cho's number from Astoira and I'll ask her, even though she hates me, and I was just about to ask a few others." "I feel like -" Harry (O) began. James pretended to sneeze into his sleeve but said "ACHOO CHANG!" Harry (O) looked at him weirdly and went on slowly, "That's... really old, and I feel like there's something really odd going on with this new guy. As the Minister. He's really..." "An idiot," Albus finished. "... Well, yeah, to put it straight. An idiot. And really weird. Um... So, why the Merlin was there a rat in our kitchen?" Ginny (O) gave him a 'Duh' look and said, "I have no idea, Harry, why are you asking me?!" Harry shrugged and gave her a half-hearted smile. "I just talked to Hermione, she's on her way..." * Wormtail reported to his master as fast as he could. "My lord!" he hissed. "My lord - the Potters - they know our thinkings, but my lord, I know their plans!" "Wormtail!" Voldemort quipped. "Tell me... everything." Wormtail did. He told him everything he heard. "So," said the Dark Lord with an amused grin, "they are picking followers, are they? Clever, but it seems I've already beat them too it. Git me Chang, Wormtail. I have orders for her." * They had put Lily back with Tonks, and Tonks had secretly begun to teach Lily magic without a wand."When I was training," said Tonks to Lily, "Moody always told me 'Constant vilagance'. Be focused on your work, Lily. Be determined and constantly focused, and you will succeed. Remember that." Lily nodded. "Good. Now I want you to picture the thing you most love in your mind, very clearly, okay? And whenever your ready, say 'Incantatatium Locomotor'." It took her a minute, but Lily eventually settled on picturing her parents in her mind. Her dad, his eyes filled with laughter, with his arm around her mum's waist. And her mother, who looked exceedingly happy, blew her a kiss. For a second, she thought she would cry. But regaining her strength, she said somewhat firmly, "Incantatatium Locomotor!" Nothing happened. Her hopes fell. "It's okay," Tonks said as Lily felt her put her hand on her shoulder. "It really is. You will get it, I know you will... You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to teach you to be a professional blind girl." "Huh?" Lily cocked her head. "I mean I'm going to teach you how to walk, how to know where people are and aren't. I'll help you all I can."
