Chapter 9
04:08, 10 January 2014Lily was dreaming. She hoped it wasn't a dream, but deep down she knew it was.It was one of those dreams you never wanted to end. She hated the moment she woke.Lily had fallen asleep curled up by Tonks. She had been dreaming about her parents, smiling and happy, the way she loved them. Then she woke up to darkness, thinking she might not see them except in dreams like that. She woke up with tears rolling down her cheeks and cried quietly, "Daddy... Come and get me soon..."Then someone grabbbed her by the hair, tearing her away from Tonks's snoozing form. She screamed, terrified, not knowing who was holding her or where she was going."Tonks!" Lily shreiked."Shut your yap, ginger," growled a man's voice. "Or I'll shut it for you."Lily sayed quiet. The man kept talking. "I'm bringing you to the Dark Lord. Don't worry, he's saving you for last. Just has some... business to attend to."Voldemort. Business. In the dark.*"I'm telling you, Harry, it's not that exit!" Ginny (O) insisted. "It's the next one!"They were all packed in a van they stole crammed together. Victoire sat on Teddy's lap, Roxanne next to them, then so on. Harry (O) was trying to drive, but it wasn't easy for him when his wife was telling him to do the opposite of what he was doing all the time."We missed it!" Harry (O) exclaimed. "Thanks a lot, Gin.""That was not my fault," Ginny (O) said, reading the map upside down James reached over from the back and flipped it over, and her eyes widened. "Oh... Well, we are completely lost. Maybe we should've asked Dumbledore -?""You're not helping me!" Harry (O) said. "Why don't you go talk to Hermione or something?"Ginny (O) shrugged. "You're the boss."She climbed into the back and started talking to Hermione about the Hunger Games."I just finished Mockingjay the other day!" Rose piped in."I finished a page of the first chapter of the first book!" James said excitedly. "It was boring.""Well no dip Sherlock, you only read a page," said Rose, annoyed."I read the Half-Blood Prince, though! It took me a year, but so what! Does that count?""Lily and I read it and the Deathly Hallows in a week, so no.""Oh well, at least I tried...""I have no idea where to go!" Harry (O) said. "How are we going to get to the Ministry like this?!""We should've apparated," Albus muttered."I'm pulling over.""Good idea."*Lily was terrified. What would happen? Voldemort could kill her if he wanted. He could stamp her out of the world so fast she wouldn't have known what happened until she was dead.Or there was that slim chance she could coordinate herself enough to elbow the man who was leading her to her fate, elbow him in the face if she was lucky. Then she could run - and then what? Bump into a wall and get caught all over again, and then surely get killed, or separated from Tonks? Lily didn't want them to be separated. She would be alone with the dark then.Plus, she wasn't sure she would be able to even muster up the courage to hit the man, let alone run away. Lily hadn't tried to run sense she had been able to see, and she wasn't positive she could do it. Trying to walk with her eyes closed was hard for her - she would be all wobolly - so how in Merlin was she supposed to run?She was suddenly thrown into a room, and the door slammed behind her. The room was cold, like every other room she had been in. Cold and dark. Then Voldemort's snakelike voice came from just over her, and Lily had second thoughts about trying to get up. Her heart started beating a mile a minute, and she felt every thump pulse through her, as it it was counting down to a stopping point..."You have been brought here for a reason," Voldemort hissed, making Lily shudder at every word he sneered. I'm not an idiot, I knew that, Lily thought bitterly. "And if you don't do exactly what I say, I will not hesitate to kill you and your friend. Do you understand, Potter?"Lily nodded reluctantly, shaking all over, fear swallowing her whole. He could kill her so easily..."Good. Now, being the merciful man I am, I'm going to let you talk to your family."Lily perked up a bit. She would get to talk to her dad? There was something in his voice, though - there was something about Tom Riddle's voice that banished her good thoughts. It was amusement. Why the in the world would he be amused? And so Lily's fear mixed with a horrible feeling bubbling up within her.He went on. "But only for a short amount of time, little girl. And when I speak, you will not interrupt. Understand?"She nodded again numbly, momentary excitment building up inside her, but then it was squashed by her fear again. Fear and curiosity and bad feelings... But she could talk to her Mum and Dad. Even if she didn't get to hear a respond, she would get to talk to them...It would be a long night.
