Chapter one

"James, you shouldn't touch that." Teddy's voice was stern. "It's your Dad's."

James rolled his eyes and turned his back to his godbrother. Carefully, he reached for the strange looking hourglass that was on the shelf. Time seemed to freeze when it clattered to the ground, smashing. Lily was walking through the room to the door, her eyes on a book lenghthy in her hands. Rose was talking to Albus and Hugo about why she didn't play Quiddich, and Teddy had just gasped.

They were suddenly in a dingy, dusty, room that needed a good sweeping. Lily was still walking, unaware of what had happened, but heading now straight at a wall. Teddy was looking horrified, Rose, Hugo, and Al the same. James looked around, saw his sister about to run into the wall, and decided to warn her.

"Lily watch -"

"OWW!"

"- out."

"WHO PUT THIS WALL HERE?!"

Lily covered her face where she had hit on the wall, her book tumbling to the ground, and stumbled backwards into James, who fell into Teddy, who smashed into Rose, then Rose into Al, Al into Hugo, and then all six of them fell over, coughing because of the dust that they had upturned.

"Who are you and why are you in my house?" A man was standing over them, looking really angry and pointing his wand at the children. With a gasp, they recognized him.

Rose turned to James, threw him a glare, and snapped, "James Sirius Potter, you complete idiot!"

"WhaddidIdo?" James got up from the ground and stared at the man, a look of surprise and regognition passing his face. "Hey! I know you!"

The man was staring open-mouthed. "Wait - what's your name?"

"James Potter. And you're... Oh, Merlin, Mum's going to kill us," he muttered, his mouth falling open. This man couldn't be him... he couldn't be... Sirius Black. Sirius Black was long dead.

"Us? What do you mean US?" Al exclaimed, his eyes wide with fear. "You, James, this was all your fault!"

"Nuh uh! Lily - er - Lily was the one who walked into the wall!" said James, wincing.

"Yes, and we're magically her because I walked into the wall." Lily rolled her eyes at her brother's stupidity.

"Lily?" Sirius seemed baffled.

"Lily Luna Potter, nice to meet you. Teddy, what are we going to do?!" Lily turned to her godbrother, who was staring at Sirius open-mouthed and seemed incaple of speach until he said shakily but still managed to sound polite,

"Excuse me sir, but would you mind telling me what year it is?" Teddy suddenly looked a bit white.

"1996..." Sirius told them curiously, looking completly confused. He seemed to realize that they were only kids - except Teddy - and weren't a threat, his wand lowered slowly.

"Oh," Teddy said in a small squeaky voice, and went whiter.

"WHAT'S GOING ON IN THERE?!" a man's voice yelled. He came bursting into the room, his wand raised, but stopped short when he saw the group of children. His eyes turned on the Potter children, then back at Sirius. "What's going on?!"

"I know you too!" James exclaimed. "You're Remus Lupin, aren't you?"

"How did you know my name?" he almost growled. "Are you - you're Death Eaters, aren't you? How'd you get in?!"

"You seriously think a bunch of children are Death Eaters?" asked Rose. "You're seriously that thick?"

"Okay, all you kids, you're coming downstairs!" barked Sirius. None of the children moved.

"I'm sorry, Mr Black," said Lily in a sweet voice, "but my father told us not to talk to strange men who are pointing wands at us."

"And who's your father?"

"Harry Potter!" Hugo piped. "He's my uncle."

"I'm James!" James introduced himself. Teddy stepped on his foot, and he yelped. "Ouch, Teddy! What's your problem?! Anyway, I'm fifteen and a Gryff- Teddy! Stop stepping on my foot, you spork! I was going to say I'm a Gryffindor and a seeker before I was very, very rudely interupted by a ceartain Metamorphagus over here!" He jerked a thumb in Teddy's direction. Teddy was shaking his head, not wanting James to say anything further, but James didn't stay silent.

"You're a Metamorphagus?!" asked Sirius, in awe.

"Yep," Teddy replied, popping the P.

"NYMPHADORA, YOU HAVE A SON!" Sirius yelled randomly, a bit of a hysterical edge to his voice.

"SIRIUS BLACK, DON'T YOU DARE CALL ME NYMPHADORA." They heard stomping like someone was going up stairs, and then a pretty woman with bubble gum colored hair and a kind, heart-shaped face. "What do you want, Black? And who are they?" She, unlike Sirius and Remus, didn't even bring out a wand but looked curious.

Teddy looked as if he might faint.

"We're not from the future!" James yelled with a hystarical edge to his voice. "Oh, pfft, most ceartiny not from the future. Huston, we have a problem! We're in the bloody past! Holy mother of Merlin -"

"Shut up," Hugo advised him.

Tonks looked really confused. "You... er... okay... past?"

"Wait a second," said Remus, "your dad is Harry Potter?"

"Yes," said Lily.

"And... and your mother?"

"Ginny Potter," Albus said, "or Weasley. Whichever you perfer."

"MOLLY, YOU HAVE GRANDCHILDREN." Remus shot Sirius a glare, and the animagus shut up.

"We'll see about that." Remus narrowed his eyes, took out his wand, and pointed at at Lily first.

"Don't you dare point that thing at me Remus John Lupin!" Lily yelped, looking mad. "I will have you arrested! All I have to do is call my Dad, and he'll show up with the whole Auror office to come and get us! Yeah, that's right, back off wherewolf-dude! If you're going to point a wand at anyone, point it at James. He's the one who's gone and messed with Dad's things and got us here!" Remus looked surprised, and during Lily's ranting people downstairs were beginning to get suspicious...

"WHAT THE MERLIN ARE YOU DOING UP THERE?!" came a yell from a 16-year-old Ron. "WHO'S THERE? WHO'S CALLING THE AURORS? WHAT'S GOING - erm... who... alright..." Ron had just burst into the room, then followed by a concerned looking Hermione, following behind Fred, George, Ginny, Harry, and Mr and Mrs Weasley. Meanwhile, Lily was glaring daggers at Remus and still telling him off.

"- wouldn't fancy going to Azkaban, would you? Probably not! So I suggest you but the wand down! As if a bunch of underage wizards are going to hurt you..."

Rose interrogated Teddy while Remus put his wand away, looking baffled that a eleven-year-old girl had won an argument with him.

"Okay, we're technically not born yet, so I can use magic, right?" Rose asked.

"I - er - I dunno," Teddy replied, trying to ignore his deceased parents.

"I'm sending a Patronus to Dad as soon as I can," Rose muttered.

"Who are you?!" Mr Weasley asked, his eyes wide.

Lily cleared her voice superiorly. "I'm Lily, nice to meet you, even though I already know you." She earned a good few stares and shrugged.

"I'm Albus."

"I'm Rose."

"I'm Hugo."

"I'm... Ted."

"And I'm James!" James exclaimed dramatically.

"The idiot," Albus muttered, just out of his brother's ear-shot.

"Surnames?" Sirius asked.

"Potter."

"Weasley."

"Weasley."

"Potter."

"Er... Lupin."

"Potter!" James did it again. He took in all the stares he was getting, frowned, then said, "God you guys are no fun at all. C'mon, Al, you didn't even laugh when Lily walked into the wall!"

"I was reading!" Lily snarled at her brother, waving her book in his face. "Ever heard of it? And I was going through a door before you decided to break that hourglass! Not my fault."

"You know how to read?!" James asked, his voice dripping with obvious false surprise. "Wow, Lils! What an accomplishment! Congrats Rosie, you now have a reading buddie."

Both the girls scowled at him.

"Enouth of this," Remus said, silencing them, and trying hard not to look at Teddy. "Where'd you come from?"

"Well," Rose began, "Hugo and I went over to our aunt and uncle's because we do that almost every weekend. My Aunt Ginny said we couldn't go in the study, 'cause it could be dangerous. But James then persuaded us to sneak in there with him"- she threw a dirty look at her cousin -" and everyone else did. What was I supposed to do? Sit back and watch? No, I went in there with them. We were there in the study, and James found this weird looking hourglass. Ted told him not to touch it, but he did, and now we're here. James, your mother is going to kill us!"

James shrugged. "If I had a dollar to every time someone told me that, I'd be rich. It's just a common fact I get killed about three times a day."

"... Aunt Ginny?" Ginny said quietly, speaking for the first time.

"CONGRATULATIONS!" The twins applauded, pretending to have tears in their eyes. "WE'RE SO PROUD!"

"I just got the best idea ever," James said mischeviously, suddenly grinning.

"Oh and we'd all love to here your idea," said Al scathingly, "considering we just got transported back in time because of you, and because your ideas usually land us in trouble, not to mention are really stupid."

"We could change the future!" James exclaimed, ignoring Al.

"The future's pretty set in stone," said Rose with a roll of her eyes. "But of course you wouldn't know that because you don't ever read. I'm surprised you made it this far in school."

"Oh, well, I had little minions to help me out," said James. "They're called cousins, Rosie. Get used to the term."

"Who are your parents?" Mr Weasley asked.

"Harry Potter. My mother is Ginny Potter," said Lily. "James and Al are my brothers, Teddy is my godbrother. Sad, isn't it?" She motioned to James and Al who were silently bickering about changing the future.

"Our Dad is Ron Weasley," Rose informed them as if she was bored of saying it, "and our mother is Hermione Weasley."

"My parents are dead," Teddy said softly, as if he didn't really want anyone to hear. "They were Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Lupin. My godfather is Harry Potter, and sense the age of one I have been with him. Oh yeah, and I'm twenty."

"I'm eleven, same as Hugo," Lily said.

"I'm fifteen," said James.

"I'm thirteen, and so is Rose," said Albus. "And we're all Gryffindors except Ted. The only reason I support Ravenclaw." Everyone was staring, and Harry looked like he'd just been slapped in the face with a frying pan.

James laughed at everyone's expressions. "You should see your faces! My goodness. This is hysterical! Anyone have a camera?"

"Excuse me while I go sit in a dark corner." Ginny looked really pale, and left.

"Whilist I vommit." Hermione followed after the redhead.

"I have a son?!" Tonks shrieked, even though she obviously already knew the answer. "And I'm dead?!"

At that moment a silver stag (the adult Harry's Patronus) appeared and went straight to Teddy. It said in Harry's voice: "Well, what's the story this time? Where are you? I just came home to my wife in hysterics, and my kids randomly disappearing out of the blue! Ginny and Hermione are going crazy! They have the whole Office out looking for you. And will someone please explain to me why there is glass all over my study? Are you all together? Is Lily okay? What about Rose? Anyone hurt? Kidnapped? Pretend I didn't say that last part. Can you tell me where you are? James, did you go messing in my study again? I told you if you did that again I'd -"

Ron's voice suddenly cut across his brother-in-law's. "Yes, yes, alright, shut up, Harry. Rose, Hugo, two words; big trouble. The both of you. That was from your mother, by the w-"

The message suddenly ended, leaving everyone in the room staring at it, bewildered.

"What the... That - that was me - but -?!" Harry was gaping at the patronus.

"From the future, yeah," said James. He looked at Teddy. "What should we tell him?"

"Nothing," said Lily, shrugging. "Don't answer."

"Why? He'll just get more worried we were kidnapped."

"Well yeah, but I have a feeling it won't work. Because if we tell it to give it to him, there's a Harry right there!" Lily pointed at her 16-year-old miniature father.

"Good point," said Rose, "but we should try it anyway." Teddy went to grab his wand, but Rose said, "Teddy, no offense, but you suck at Patronuses. I'll do it."

"Well thanks for the support," Teddy muttered as Rose took out her wand.

"Expecto Patronum," she said clearly, and instantly a silvery mist came out of her wand. It changed into a silver tiger, which sat down on the floor.

"Show off," Lily muttered.

"I'll keep it here," said Rose, ignoring her cousin, "and you guys do the message. Now!"

"Hey Dad, it's me, James, thanks for worrying so much about my whereabouts, I'm really thankful," said James sarcastically.

"Be quiet," said Teddy. "Anyway, yes we're all fine, and to where we are... Grimlaud Place, but DON'T come. We're not there. Well, we are, but -"

"WE'RE IN THE PAST!" Hugo told him. "We're in the past! Sirius Black is alive, my teen mother has gone to join teen Aunt Ginny in a dark corner, and everyone is staring at us like we're in a zoo or something!"

"So there you go," said Teddy. "Everyone's fine, but we're kind of... what Hugo said. Whatever you do, don't tell Ginny. Or Hermione. Just do something and get us back! They don't have to know! Alright? Good talk."

MEANWHILE...

"The nerve of him!" Ginny said angrily. "What ever did he mean, 'don't tell Ginny or Hermione'?!" She, Ron, George, Angelina, Fleur, Bill, Victoire, and Roxanne were all gathered to help get the kids back, as the Aurors were making no progress.

"Nevermind that," said Hermione hurriedly, "let's go!"

"Wait a second!" said Fleur. "Did you hear what Hugo said? They are in the past!"

"They also said not to tell us," said Hermione. "I bet they're just messing around."

"I dunno," said Harry, thinking hard. "Ted seemed pretty off."

"Send another one," Bill suggested. Hermione took out her wand and produced a silver otter Patronus. She said to it:

"Guys, look. We really don't have time for jokes, okay? We really need to know where you are. Lily, Hugo, school's starting soon! You wouldn't want to miss your first year, would you?"

Ginny butted in. "And James, I am dissapointed in you! Didn't you promise not to go in there?! When I get my hands on you I'll -"

"Alright I think that'll do, Ginny," said George. "The point is, kids, we need you to come back, okay? Tell us, and we'll come get you. Us meaning Victoire, Fleur, Bill, Harry, Ginny, Hermione, Roxanne, and me, okay? Good. Now if you don't tell us, on the other hand, I might just have to go track you down and wipp your sorry butts for running away -"

"DAD!" Roxanne silenced him. "Stop scaring them! I'm sorry guys, Dad's a little off today. He was kidding. If you are in the past, smack my father for me, alright? Thanks. Anyway, we'll be waiting!"
