Chapter 6 : Your Eyes

Bakugou's POV:

———After shutting the door on Ochako, he leaned back against the door and crossed his arms. Bakugou's face began to turn red and he grew anxious. He accidentally allowed Ochako to see his boner. That's something that neither her nor Bakugou will ever forget. And even worse: although she doesn't know it, that boner was something that she caused. How embarrassing is that?!

"Fuck, man..." Bakugou uttered before hearing another knock on his door and seeing a paper slide under him. He sighed as he crouched down to read it.

As he read the letter, he began to feel a pain in his heart. Was it anger? Was it anxiety? Was it guilt? Regardless, reading this letter did NOT make Bakugou feel any better. Still squatting, he looked up to the ceiling and attempted to process his feelings. He's never been in so much emotional anguish from being mean to people. So why is this different? Bakugou thought long and hard.

While he was thinking, his mind drifted off and Ochako popped up in his mind. But he didn't think about all the times he was upset with her; he thought about all of the times when she would look at him with kind eyes...the kindest and sweetest eyes that he's seen. And those kind eyes were directed towards him: Bakugou Katsuki. The people that he normally tends to bully always have some type of fear or resentment in their eyes when they look at him. But Ochako was different. Despite everything he's done to her over these past 3 weeks, she still looks at him as if he's someone to admire - someone to look up to.

As much as he hated to think about it, Bakugou started to consider that maybe...just maybe...he really was taking a liking to Ochako. He allowed himself to think about the things he didn't hate about her: her cute face, her perfect body, her beautiful smile, her sweet scent, her courageous spirit, her resilience, as well as her pure intentions. Bakugou's heart began to race as he thought about these things.

He looked back down at the letter she wrote for him and picked it up. The paper still had the smell of her cotton candy perfume. Bakugou instantly felt more relaxed after smelling it. 'I can't believe this shit.' he thought as he slowly and painfully accepted the fact that he was attracted to Ochako. Bakugou took the paper and put it in a drawer by his desk before getting ready for bed.

The next morning, he WAS NOT too happy with going to school. He'd have to face her again...After he got out of bed, Bakugou headed to the bathroom to get ready. On his way there, Kirishima met up with him.

"Hey Bakugou! You feelin any better today? Kaminari and I missed you last night." Kirishima said as he walked beside Bakugou.

Bakugou was lost in thought and didn't realize that Kirishima was talking to him. He kept silent as he continued walking with his hands in his pockets.

Confused, Kirishima lightly tapped on Bakugou's shoulder as if he were knocking on a door. "Bakugou? You listening?" he asked.

Still, Bakugou didn't realize that Kishima was talking. Kirishima, feeling a little hurt by this, gave up on trying to talk to him but continued to walk alongside him.

Just before the two guys reached the bathroom, they saw Hagakure, Mina, and Ochako walking out of the girls bathroom together.

"Oh hey guys!" Kirishima said to the girls with a warm smile and a wave.

Mina skipped over towards Kirishima and gave him fist bump. "Heyyyy! What's up?" she replied enthusiastically.

Hagakure walked over to Mina and Kirishima to partake in their conversation but Ochako and Bakugou did not. Instead, as the others greeted each other, Ochako and Bakugou instantly locked eyes. Neither of them dared to look away...as if they were in a trance. Eventually, Bakugou squinted his eyes and had an annoyed expression on his face before he broke eye contact with her and walked into the boys bathroom. The sudden movement from Bakugou made the others look in his direction which led to them noticing that Ochako was looking at him. Ochako frowned slightly before walking away.

"What the heck was that about?" Hagakure asked. Mina and Kirishima shrugged before returning to their conversation.

Meanwhile, in the bathroom, Bakugou got ready for school. The entire time that he was getting ready, he continued to wonder what Ochako was thinking when they made eye contact. She could've been expecting an answer to her letter...or maybe she was thinking about his boner. Bakugou wasn't sure if he actually wanted to know what she was thinking so he tried pushing those thoughts to the side for now.

After getting ready for class, he went straight to homeroom. When he arrived, his eyes automatically turned towards Ochako's desk. She was sitting there doing some homework that she probably couldn't finish the night before. For a moment, Bakugou analyzed her appearance. U.A. became less strict about school uniformity; students were now allowed to accessorize their school uniforms. Ochako clearly wanted to abuse this. Every day she'd wear a couple of cute hairpins, earrings, handmade bracelets, and some barely noticeable makeup all paired with a simple pink sweater that she wore instead of the usual gray ones that U.A. gives to students.

Bakugou noticed that his face was getting warm. He had been blushing upon seeing her dressed up like this. He quickly turned away and walked to his desk. During their classes, Bakugou would occasionally look back to admire Ochako. It wasn't something that he'd normally do but it started to feel natural the more and more he turned back to her. Every once in awhile, Ochako would catch him eyeing her and she would immediately look away. However, Bakugou would keep staring.

Eventually, it was time for their hero class where they had to work together. Both Ochako and Bakugou were anything but excited for this class given their situation. But they had no choice to go.

This time, their teacher didn't make them do any physical work. "Based on the results from your first assignment as a team, I've determined that all of you need to work on your teamwork. So today, I want you and your teammate to patrol the school and build a bond with each other." the teacher said to the class. Both Ochako and Bakugou's hearts dropped as they heard this. This was going to be an awkward assignment...———
