Chapter 14

Alex's POV

After Reggie poofed away, I began to really start to panic. Both my friends were M.I.A and I have no idea where to look for them. Where would Reggie go to look for Luke? I absolutely have no clue.

I pace back and forth trying to think of a plan. All the while I'm doing this, I'm wasting time to actually look for the two of them.

Reggie was worried about Luke, he wasn't just looking for him to find him, he was looking for him to make sure he is alright. Would he go to the Hollywood Ghost Club? Just as I'm about to poof there to check, Reggie reappears in the studio alone, meaning Luke was still missing.

"Reggie where the hell where you?" I ask.

"Alex, we need to make a plan. Luke has his memories back, Caleb gave them back.  He tried to give him fake memo to turn him against us but if didn't work, hence why he has his real memories. Anyways he's keeping up the act of being on Caleb's side. Caleb wants him to lure us to him so he can steal our souls but obviously Luke isn't gonna do that so while he keeps Caleb busy we need to think of a plan a so Caleb will either think we're dead or will leave us alone or what." Reggie says all at once barely taking a breath. How was he not out of breath after rambling on like that? I mean he talks a lot sure but how much air can he hold on those lungs of his?

"Wow slow down." I say. "I only got like half of that."

"There's no time to explain ." Reggie says. "Luke can only stall for so long. So how are we gonna get Caleb off our backs for the rest of our afterlives?"

"I guess maybe we could talk to Willie." I say. "So you talked to Luke? Where is he, is he alright?"

"Luke is stalling Caleb at the Hollywood Ghost Club. Caleb thinks he's on his side and hopefully it stays that way." Reggie says. "So where can we find Willie to talk to him?"

"Probably skating around the park or something." I say. And so the two of us quickly poof to the park to search for Willie.

Luke's POV

After Reggie disappears I have to come up with a plan to stall Caleb. I don't care what it takes I'm gonna let him hurt my friends.

I go to his office and before I can even knock on the door his voice from the other side did the room calls me in. "Come on Luke." He says. The fact that he knew someone was at the door let alone that it was me was terrifying. I take a deep breath and open the door.

"So what's your master plan Luke?" Caleb asks. "Did you really think you could fool me?" My knees go weak and my heart drops. He doesn't know I have my real memories- does he? "I'm not blind I saw you and Reggie in the corner. So I easedropped."

He heard everything. He knows. So what know? We thought we had the upper hand but Caleb is always ten steps ahead of us.

"Congratulations on you two getting together by the way." Caleb continues. "Too bad I'm going to have to split you up."

"If you hurt him-" I say taking a step forward, my fist clenching in a tight ball.

"Relax. I made a plan that us unstoppable and that'll cause no harm to anyone. In, quite the opposite really." Caleb says. "Julie is what makes you so powerful, and if I can't have that power I just need to prevent you from having it as well."

"Don't hurt her either."

"Wasn't planning on it." Caleb says. "I am simply going to prevent Sunset Curve from ever being born. You boys will never meet, never play the Orpheum together, therefore never die, and therefore never meet Julie."

"No!" I say.

"You won't miss them. You won't know them." Caleb says. "Besides the plans already in motion."
