Chapter 38

I don't think it truly hit that I'm married until that night. Unlike most couples on their wedding night, we played Scrabble. As uninteresting as it sounds, I think it was our best night together. We laughed and baked and watched countless old movies and made fun of them with insane accents.

But I was asleep next to Tanner and everything just comes together at once to the point where I just dart into a sitting position. Tanner barely turned to face me and mumbled some type of a groan of, "what's wrong?"

I, of course, was overthinking the whole thing and when I get on a roll, I have to write. I have to do something when you finally get that feeling exactly when it hits you. And I wrote for a good hour last night until it was morning and I was passed out on the couch, which is where I currently am cleaning up now.

I woke up after about an hour or 2 later to the clock in the bedroom going off. Our flight is arranged for 7:30 and right now it's 5:15 so we have a good two hours to get showered and over there. We barely unpacked anyway, one night didn't do much to dent the suitcase. Tanner won't tell me where we're going either, he just said to dress for hot weather, which I can do.

Speaking of Tanner, he's still sleeping. I let him sleep while I took my shower but now it's getting kind've stretched.

I put my hand on his bare shoulder and shake. "Babe, you need to get up."

He groans again. Being face down on the bed does not help to understand what a guy is saying in the morning. Especially Tanner with his naturally husky voice.

I lower myself down to his level by the side of the bed and peck his nose. "Tanner, baby, would you please get up? For your wife?"

He slowly prys his eyes open and pouts at me. "Just because we're married."

"Aw, that's kind've harsh, isn't it?" He gets ahold of my hips and pulls me onto him. I push my hands on his chest and squeal as I try to steady myself. "You need to get a shower."

"Who's harsh now, wow. I can't believe a wife would talk that way to her husband," He quirks his eyebrows.

I tap his chest, "Well, get use to it." My lips are on his before I even finish my sentence.

"I guess I can deal with it," He murmurs. His voice is such a turn-on in the morning, it's so addictive.

I lower my kisses to the corner of his lips and down to his jawline before hovering above his neck. "We have a plane to catch so if you could take your shower.."

He pushes himself to his feet and starts to gather clothes to wear. "Fineee, but you better stop teasing me like that since we're married now," He makes a gesture at 'we're married now', as any newly wed would. At least I think, we do it a lot, at least.

"You know I wouldn't lie to you,"

He sticks out his tongue before disappearing behind the bathroom door.

"You said the plane ride would be fun," He groans for what seems like the 20th time today. We're literally half-asleep, sprawled all over eachother, not even watching the Law and Order on the screen.

"You could tell me where we're going," I mumble against his shirt. I can feel his fingers combing through my hair and can I just say that it feels like heaven.

"But that'd give away the secret and having a secret is fun,"

"So is kissing but you won't be getting any of that until you tell me where we're going," I sit up and cross my arms, smirking.

"But it's an eight hour flight!" He protests.

"Shame," I stand and walk toward the back of the plane. I can hear him advancing, and I walk faster, finally escalating into a run as he barrels after me.

"Oh my god, Taylor Swift, I'm your biggest fan!" He mocks, giving him the brief second of my distraction to laugh to hoist me up on his shoulder and back onto a nearby couch. He makes it pretty impossible to escape.

"You know you want to. Look, don't I look sexy?" He straightens up momentarily to lift his shirt, smirking from me to his abs before back to me.

"Where are we going!" I shout at him, even though it comes out between laughs so it sounds like a random burst.

"I'll never tell until you kiss me." He crosses his arms.

"Fine. Be that way." I march out toward our bedroom. The only thing I could think of was to put on a bikini to get him to tell. I don't know what it will do but if he cracks at all, he'll crack with this.

I walk into the living quarters and lay down like its a beach chair.

Tanner appears from the bathroom door shirtless, scratching at the back of his neck when he must see me. He tightens his jaw and lets a grin play off his lips. It's obvious he's doing the same thing I am, except its different from my point of view seeing your extremely built boyfriend walk around shirtless. Not that I don't see him shirtless a lot, I mean, he does this a lot but he knows it's a tease in itself.

"You can't just-" He starts. I raise an eyebrow.

"Can't what, Tanner? Try on my new bikini?"

He purses his lips for a good minute before narrowing his gaze on me. "We're going a secluded place in Hawaii, now freakin' let me kiss you."
