Chapter 14
02:51, 26 July 2022Zale's POV
I watched as Luke got knocked out by an invisible force, while it attacked the other Soldiers of Chaos.
I got up and looked towards the immortal campers and Chiron, they were slowly getting up. I glanced at the Soldiers again then ran to my old friends. I helped Annabeth up. The ground shook again as the sky rumbled. I looked over at the Soldiers of Chaos, they were all knocked out.
"Help the others," I looked at Annabeth who nodded, then I began walking over to the Soldiers, when I suddenly got yanked up in the air. I let out a surprised yelp. I was floating two meters into the air, flinging my arms and legs trying to get free from the air. It may have looked funny, but I promise it wasn't. Before I knew of it I was hanging upside down. I kicked out with my legs but didn't hit anything since I was in the air. I let out an irritated yell. I flew a few meters up in the air then suddenly I was plummeting to the ground, screaming. Before I could hit the ground I stopped falling and just hung in the air.
"Percy!" Piper yelled. I couldn't see her as my back was turned to her, but I tried my best to turn around, when a blue face was right behind me up in my face. I wouldn't lie.. I screamed. I tried punching the face but it dissolved into thin air. I looked around frantically searching for the man's face. Where was he? I couldn't see him and I was still hanging upside down. I yelled out in frustration. I could see my old friends on the ground looking up at me, trying to figure out how to get me down. I sighed, my head was beginning to hurt from hanging upside down, and it didn't exactly help with my broken arm. I began to slowly float further up in the sky, though this time it was slowly. I breathe out.
Out of the blue I was, once again, falling to the ground, though before I could hit the ground I was thrown to the side and into a tree, making a huge dent in it. I groaned, my whole body hurted, then I got yanked out and thrown into another tree. I could feel the bones in my body break. I looked up and saw the same blue man as before. His skin seemed to shift, like he was blending into the sky. Clouds came over his body. He had black longish hair and he was tall and buff, he looked down at me with hatred in his eyes, that were as dark as storm clouds. He was only wearing a loincloth.
"Hello, Perseus Jackson," He said, his voice dark and gloomy. I glanced behind him and saw the Seven and Chiron try to get to me, or anywhere else, but they were stopped by an invisible force, like the one that had kicked me around. I looked back at the big buff guy.
"Who," I coughed, "Who are you?" My voice was hoarse. My question somehow offended the big guy, because dark clouds seemed to appear on his skin, and the sky began turning dark.
"Who am I?!" He steamed. "WHO AM I?!" He yelled at me, his voice resounding everywhere from nothing. "I am the almighty Ouranos! You should cower at my feet demigod!" He bellowed. I paled, I had been right, we were up against Ouranos. The embodiment of the Sky. He was one of the most powerful entities in the whole World. We were definitely doomed. But of course the rational side of me didn't acknowledge that this being could kill us all with only a single thought.
"I can't, you kinda broke my ribs. Besides, you don't look like much." I said. Yes, I know, it was stupid, but I was known for being sarcastic and piss off my enemies. And somehow I always got away with it. I could almost see the steam coming out of his ears as he roared at me.
"HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT ME, PUNY DEMIGOD?!" He roared. As he spoke, wind roared into my face messing, my already messy hair, even more up.
"Dude, I just set my hair! Now it's all messed up." I pouted, that just seemed to piss Ouranos even more off, and I get it, I would have been pissed too. But I wasn't Ouranos, so I wasn't pissed. Ha.
"I CAN LITERALLY DESTROY YOU WITH A SINGLE BLOW, AND YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT YOUR HAIR?!" He looked mad and astonished at me. "ARE YOU JOKING?!" He roared angrily.
"No, not really, you're messing my perfect hair up." I tried to cross my arms, but I had to give up on that, since my right arm was broken and it hurted whenever I tried to move. I glanced behind the Sky and saw the Seven and Chiron was slowly getting forward towards us, then I looked back at Ouranos. "I'm serious, you can't just come here and throw us around like puppets, and then mess up my hair." I said seriously.
The Sky looked like he was about to explode, he took his hands up then down again, spun around one time then pointed at me, with anger clear on his face. "YOU! YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO RESPECT THE ENTITIES SUPERIOR THAN YOU!" He bellowed louder than Zeus.
"Sorry, can't do. It's not what my mom raised me to act like." I grinned and tried to hide my pained look. Gods those broken ribs didn't do anything good. Ouranos yelled out and grabbed his hair, trying to pull it out, then he let go and looked me dead in the eyes.
"You will regret talking like that to me, demigod." He said in a low, gloomy, threatening voice. I swallowed. I'll admit that Ouranos was scary when he wanted to be. I felt the same force as before lift me up in the air, I rose higher and higher up. I looked down and made eye contact with Ouranos. He had a creepy smile plastered onto his face. I was still rising higher and higher, normally I would have been afraid of Zeus blasting me out of the sky, but that was eight hundred years ago, and there wasn't an Ouranos back then, or well there was, but he was scattered. I swallowed as the air became colder, and my heart began beating faster. This wasn't good. Ouranos' face kept flashing before my eyes, his dark eyes sparkling with hatred. Suddenly I stopped and just hung in the air, I looked down and widened my eyes. Dam I was up high!
"Ouranos! Show yourself you son of a bitch!" I yelled out into the air. Yes, that may have been stupid, but hey, I didn't care at the moment. My body was aching and broken and I was hanging up in the Sky, while my opponent was hiding. Just like I imagined, Ouranos appeared before me, looking quite pisssed. His body was as dark as a cloudy day where the skies were threatening to pour down.
"How dare you talk to me like that, after what I have done?" He said gloomy. I shivered as a cold wind rushed over me as he spoke. "I'd kill you for that tone, demigod!"
I frowned, "If you wanted to kill me, you would already have done that." I said. It was true after all.
"Hmm," He hummed and took a hand to his chin as if he was thinking. "You're actually right, for once." He said and looked me in the eyes, then smiled at me creepily. "Good luck surviving, puny demigod." His laugh resounded around me as he snapped his fingers and I fell to my death. My heart was in my throat as I fell to the ground with deadly speed. I spun around in the air, trying to grab onto anything, but since I was in the air it didn't surprise me that I couldn't grab onto something. I screamed as I plummeted to the ground, my scream getting lost in the wind. The ground was nearing me with deadly speed. Tears erupted from my eyes due to the wind. For once in eight hundred years, I was afraid of dying. Dying in the air plummeting to the ground, was not how I imagined my death to be like. The ground came closer and closer. I could see the campers fighting off the winds. The Chaos Soldiers had begun moving, but they weren't on their feet yet. And I? I was just here in the air, heading towards the earth. The sound of the wind made me deaf to any other sound. I tried reaching out to the lake, but before I could do something I got pushed to the side and into the trunk of a tree with a sickening crush. I blinked one time, the whole world sailed before me, it hurted when I breathed, it felt like there were knives and fire in my lungs. Then it all became black.
Alpha's POV
I opened my eyes to look up into the sky. I looked to the side and saw I was lying on the ground. Why was I on the ground? I frowned and tried to sit up, but winced as my side hurt. I looked back up into the sky and saw a figure flying up in the sky. When I looked closer it looked like Zale, but Zale couldn't fly.. I began moving, my side hurts like hell, but I managed to sit up. I looked around and saw my commander and the rest of the Soldiers lying unconscious on the ground, I looked to my left and saw the immortal campers fighting off some invisible force with Chiron. Now when I thought about it, it was actually the same force that had knocked me out. I slowly got up, trying not to move too much so I wouldn't cause my side to hurt even more. I drew my sword and moved towards where the rest of the Seven were with Chiron, fighting off the winds. I reached out with my powers, to calm the winds down, but they didn't listen. I tried again but failed. I couldn't control them, it was like a bigger force had power over them, but it felt bigger than Jupiter. I walked towards them, it seemed as if their weapons went through the force holding them back.
Piper locked her eyes with mine as she tried to stab a wind. "Jason!" I hurried over to them, "No! Don't help us! Per- Zale is up there!" She pointed up into the sky, I looked up and saw a small black figure up high in the sky. I had to squint to see what the figure was doing, and saw it was hanging upside down, flapping its arms and legs. I wielded the winds to fly me up to the figure, but I didn't budge. I didn't even start to fly. I was still on the ground.
"What the..?" I closed my eyes and concentrated on the winds. I could feel them move around me, slowly I willed them to lift me up. I felt my feet leave the ground, then I landed again. I groaned and opened my eyes, "Seriously?" I looked back up at the figure in the sky that was Percy Jackson. I still couldn't believe that Zale was Percy. It was crazy, we had hated each other for a zillion years and then I found out he's my cousin. The person I had seen as my brother. The Universe was small.. Okay maybe not, but in this case it was. In this case the Universe and galaxies were small.
I cursed under my breath as I could only get up five centimeters in the air. It was like something was holding me down, like I had chains around my ankles preventing me from getting up higher. I stumbled forward when someone pushed me, but when I turned around I couldn't see anyone. I narrowed my eyes in the air. A blue flace flickered in the air, grinning like a madman. I widened my eyes, hopefully my brain was just messing with me. Hopefully it wasn't who I was thinking of. But when the face showed up again I was sure. We were facing Ouranos. Lord of the Sky. We were doomed. I looked up and saw Percy falling to the ground with increasing speed, I couldn't control the winds so I couldn't help him, just stare at the scene before me. Hopefully Percy knew what he was doing, but when he came closer I could see how he panicky reached out for something to grab and a scream left his lips. I looked back at the rest of the Seven, they had stopped fighting the winds and stared up at Percy who was falling to the ground. Not speeding down. Instead he gained more and more speed, like Ouranos was pushing him down to get him down faster, which he probably was. My eyes were trained on Percy as he almost hit the ground but in the last second got shot to the side and into a tree with a sickening sound of bones breaking. I stared at him as his head hung low, then I seemed to snap out of my daze and ran over to him.
"Percy!" Annabeth yelled and ran over to me as I kneeled down. I grabbed his wrist to feel for a pulse, I couldn't feel anything. I quickly placed two fingers on his neck, feeling for a pulse there. My breathing became more rapid as I didn't feel anything.
"Come on Perce, you can do it." I mumbled and adjusted my fingers, maybe I was feeling the wrong place, I moved them up a bit. Still no pulse. "Come on," I mumbled and kept searching for a pulse. I placed a hand over his heart to feel it. I couldn't feel the beating of his heart, my vision slowly became blurry. "No, Perce."
"Percy, listen to me, don't you dare leave me again!" Annabeth's voice shook as she looked at Percy, holding his head up. A small trail of blood had left his mouth. "Percy please," She cried. I wiped the tears away from my eyes.
"Is he okay.." Hazel trailed off as she looked at the limp Percy in Annabeth's arms. She turned around and Frank embraced her in a hug. I looked back at Percy, or Zale. I couldn't bear to think that I had hated him for hundreds of years without knowing it was him, that he had been right in front of me. Of course he didn't know it was me either, until I revealed myself here at camp, but we had never had a chance to speak to each other. We hadn't had a decent conversation for years. I had missed that. Just goofing around with Percy, laughing with him. Just being with him. I had died, and he didn't know. I had thought he had died, but he didn't. We had worked for the same man, without knowing. Chaos hadn't even thought about introducing us to each other!
A sick laugh resounded around us. I glanced up and saw a man floating in the air. The same man that had flickered before me when I tried to fly. Ouranos. He looked down at us then his eyes landed on Percy, I moved in front of him in a protective way. He was not gonna touch him, even though he was dead..
"I see I was the first to finally kill the big Perseus Jackson," Ouranos smiled creepily. How dared he smile at that? I felt something bubble up inside of me and realized it was anger. He had killed my friend. And now he was laughing about it. He was mocking us with it.
I stormed up and drew my sword and pounced at Ouranos. My gladius stopped right before it hit his shoulder, I used all my power to force the weapon to his shoulder, but Ouranos just waved his hand and I was pushed back. I stumbled and looked at him, took in a breath and attacked again but got knocked back. Ouranos raised an eyebrow at me and swung his hand causing the winds to push Annabeth and the Seven back as they tried to attack him with their weapons drawn.
"To think you all can defeat me," he laughed. "How stupid can you puny demigods be?"
I yelled in anger and stormed towards him again, forcing the winds to obey me. I was surprised they did, I shot forward and stabbed Ouranos, only for him to disappear into thin air and appear next to me and send me flying to the side. I landed on my side, my gladius falling out of my hand. I groaned as an aching pain erupted in my side. I looked up and saw Ouranos laugh at us.
"Demigods," He spit, "Always trying to be so heroic, yet they're stupid enough to believe that they can defeat a Protogenoi." He laughed. "How pathetic, you can't even defeat a Primordial without the help of the Gods. Talking about the Gods, where are they now? Laughing over your downfall? They didn't want to show up to save your asses, when all you've done your whole life is to save their asses. That's some great parents, huh?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Shut up," Annabeth spit, still with tears in her eyes and dried out tears on her cheeks. She was holding her knife tightly in her hand. Ouranos turned to her, dark storm clouds appeared on his skin.
"Excuse me?" He said.
"I said shut up." She hissed and ran at him, he simply floated to the side and Annabeth stumbled forward. Frank catched her and his eyes shot daggers at Ouranos.
"Now if you'll excuse me, demigods, I will now fulfill the prophecy." He said. I frowned, the prophecy? I widened my eyes as it finally clicked. Ouranos lowered himself and his foot touched the ground. He then stepped down, now with both feet planted on the ground. 'With a final breath, the Sky shall take a step'. The Sky took a deep breath, then opened his eyes and looked at us and gave us a smile. "Now... Goodbye demigods," he said as he raised his arms and clenched his hands as if grabbing onto something, then he pulled down harshly. I looked up and saw the sky coming down. I widened my eyes, opening my mouth to scream, but nothing came out.
3rd POV
The demigods, Chiron, Soldiers of Chaos and Gods all looked up as the sky was falling to the ground. Ouranos stood in the green grass laughing, finally reunited with his wife. He closed his eyes and breathed in his victory, when he opened his dark eyes again all he could see was the Sky and Earth mixed together, all trace of the demigods and Soldiers had been erased. The body of the great Perseus Jackson had disappeared too. The Protogenoi of the Sky could feel the Olympians' presences, but they were buried deep into the Earth and Sky, unable to break free. Now he and Gaea would be able to form a new World, just like they wished it to be. He couldn't believe that the Heroes of Olympus had thought they could have beaten him, it was pathetic. Olympus would cease from existence. Ouranos would finally rule the World.
He smiled in victory and disappeared into a light breeze, to begin building up his World.
***
The demigods appeared in a throne room with a big flash. They all looked around confused, except for the Soldiers of Chaos, they knew where they were and what was happening.
"Hello, campers of Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter," The Creator of the Universe smiled from his throne. "Welcome to your new home, I suppose we start training?" He smirked, "But first, welcome a friend." He gestured to his side where a figure appeared with tan skin, disheveled jet black hair that was swept to one side, sparkling sea green eyes and a sarcastic troublemaker smile onto his face, his body was muscular and lean. He had his hands in his pockets, and even though it was hidden, there was a SPQR tattoo with a trident above on the underside of his left arm.
"Hey guys," Percy grinned and looked at the shocked crowd of demigods. "Missed me?"
