Chapter 13
17:58, 18 July 2022I woke up to the sounds of a battle. I groaned and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, then dragged myself out of bed, grabbed my sword and took my boots on. I pulled my hood up that I apparently had pulled down, then I left my tent. I ran outside and followed the sound of battle.
What met me made me falter for a quick second. Armies of hellhounds, cyclops, telekhines, centaurs and the minotaur and more monsters were fighting demigods everywhere. The immortal campers rushed between the campers and monsters, helping the ones in need. The Apollo campers fought off as best as they could, while they were carrying or dragging hurt campers after them. The Chaos Soldiers were fighting off the worst monsters, like a hydra and Kampe. I searched the battlefield to see who was leading them, but I saw no one. I frowned, but jumped into the battle. Decapitating a hellhound. I ducked as a bat from a cyclops swung in the air, where my head had just been. I spun around, my sword impaling the stomach of the cyclops. The cyclops exploded into gold dust. I sneezed as I inhaled the dust from it, then went to attack another monster. It was a dance between us. I impaled a dracaena. For every monster I killed it seemed like two or three more would take its place. I grunted in frustration and summoned a dagger and threw it at an empousa. I swung my sword at a hellhound, but it dodged my attack and bit onto my arm. I yelled in pain as its teeth bore into my arm and dropped my sword. I grabbed the hellhound's snout and tried to get it to release my arm, all it did was tighten its grip on my arm even more. I clenched my teeth and summoned another dagger. The hellhound shook my arm, ripping my sleeve apart, revealing my bloody skin. I lost balance and the grip around the dagger loosened and it fell to the ground. I yelled out in frustration and pain. Gods it hurts. The hellhound shook its head again, and I could feel my bones breaking in my arm. I summoned a third dagger and bore it into its neck. The hounds red eyes looked at me, it sneered and shook my arm again, trying to get it off my body, when a big black blurred figure jumped onto the hellhound, causing it to lose its grip on my arm and rolling off. The hellhound exploded into golden dust as the black figure killed it. When the figure turned around I was met by red eyes. Great. Another hellhound. It sniffed the air in front of me, then began wagging its tail and jumped at me, causing me to fall back. I winced as my arm hurt. I looked up into the hounds face. There was something familiar about it... A tongue went across my face, covering me in drool. Now I knew why this hellhound was familiar.
"Mrs. O'Leary!" I said and grinned, though pain was clear in my voice and my arm hurts like shit. She barked at her name and wagged her tail. "How are you, big girl?" I asked. She got off me and I sat up, but almost fell back again because of dizziness. "Wow" I blinked a few times, the black spots disappeared and I could see clearly again. Mrs. O'Leary barked, then began licking my hurt arm. I winced as pain shot through my body from my arm. It was definitely broken and dislocated and bloody. Definitely bloody. I grabbed her fur and pulled myself up. I swayed a bit, then looked around on the battlefield. It didn't look good. It looked like we were losing, even with the Soldiers of Chaos with us. Heck I had been put out by a hellhound. I felt stupidly weak. I had just joined the fight, and then I got attacked and now I can't fight properly. I began to slowly walk towards the infirmary and tents the Apollo campers had set up, when the fight began. I entered the infirmary, leaving Mrs. O'Leary outside, who had gone back to fighting off the monsters. I looked around then saw Will tend a wounded camper's leg. I walked over to him and tapped his shoulder when he finished.
He turned around and looked at me. "Yes?" His eyes wandered over my body to check for injuries and stopped at my right arm. "Oh my Gods!" He exclaimed and pulled me over to an empty bed and made me sit down. "What the hell happened to your arm?" He asked as he found some medical stuff.
"Uh" I said and swayed a bit, gods it hurts. "A hellhound attacked me." I said and blinked. It was hard to breathe, it was like someone had closed the airway. Like someone was sitting on my chest.
He nodded, "Well your arm is dislocated and there's definitely some broken bones." I was spot on. "I need to relocate your arm." He said as he grabbed it, holding where I wasn't bleeding from my wounds. I nodded. With that he relocated my arm and gods that hurt even more. I didn't even think it would be able to hurt more, but apparently it could. Dam. I'll be honest to say that I screamed. I may even have blacked out because when I woke up, my arm was in a cast all fixed up.
"Good, you're awake." Someone to my left said and walked into view. I looked at Will Solace.
"Is there still a fight?" He shook his head.
"No. It stopped about fifteen minutes ago."
"How long was I out?" I asked, and sat up.
"About thirty minutes or so. We won the fight, don't worry about that." He smiled. I looked down at my arm. It still hurted, but not as much as it did before I passed out. I got up and stretched my body the best I could. I was aching all over.
"Okay, how many were hurt?" I looked at him.
He looked down then back at me. "We lost some campers, and more are wounded. The Soldiers of Chaos seems fine, though tired as the rest of the camp." I nodded.
"Thanks for fixing me up," With that said I left the infirmary, before Will could get the chance to keep me there. When I got outside I widened my eyes. The grass was fried and yellow. Thalia's tree was smoking, though there was no visible fire. There was dried blood on the ground and abandoned or broken weapons on the ground. I began walking towards my tent when I was stopped by Delta, aka Luke Castellan.
"Zale." He said and stood in my way. I looked at him expectantly.
"Yes?"
"There is a meeting in the Big House in seventeen minutes," He said. I opened my mouth to answer when the sky rumbled loudly. I glanced up at it, then looked back at Luke.
"Got it," I began walking around him to get to my tent, but Luke stopped me again with a hand on my chest. I looked at him.
"Zale I..." He sighed and his blue eyes looked at me. "I'm sorry for being so.. harsh on you." He said slowly. I frowned.
"Uh.. Thanks? Though I think we've both been hard on each other ever since I took the Time Stones in front of you." I smirked, a small fire burned in his eyes but it quickly calmed down. He nodded.
"I was pissed at you." He admitted.
"Yeah I bet," I grinned. I cleared my throat. "So.. was that all, Luke Castellan?" I asked.
He nodded, "Yeah. Wait, how do you know my last name?" He tilted his head slightly.
"I have my ways," I said and began walking to my tent. I could feel his eyes on my neck, but kept walking. I entered my tent and yawned.
Delta's POV
I looked after Zale as he walked away. That guy was odd. I shrugged and walked back to the Chaos cabin. We had had a fight for many many years.
I walked inside the cabin and into the living room where the rest of the Soldiers of Chaos were.
"Hey guys," I greeted and sat down on the couch and leaned back.
"Hey," Silena said and leaned her head against Beckendorf's shoulder. I smiled at them, they were a cute couple. I yawned and grabbed the remote to the tv and turned it on, or well I tried but apparently the tv didn't turn on as I pressed the button repeatedly.
"Okay, who in the name of Chaos messed with the remote?" I asked and looked at my team. I narrowed my eyes on them.
"Don't look at me, it wasn't me who did it." Dakota said and held his hands up. I nodded slowly.
"Heyy, what's up?" Jason said as he walked into the living room. I looked at him and narrowed my eyes.
"Did you do something to the remote to the tv?" I asked. He froze in his tracks.
"Me? Pffft, no" He said and gulped.
"Oh really?" I raised an eyebrow. He quickly nodded then sprinted out of the cabin. I quickly ran after him. "Jason Grace!" I shouted and got closer to him. He looked back and turned to the left. I followed quickly after. No one was messing with my tv! I grabbed his arm and yanked him back, causing him to fall and me to fall on top of him. I grabbed him by his collar. "Never mess with my tv again, got it?" I asked threateningly. Jason quickly nodded.
"Of course Delta," I rolled my eyes and let go of his collar, and stood up. I reached my hand down to him, Jason grabbed it and I helped him up. I clapped his shoulder.
"Good." I yawned. Damn that fight had been exhausting. We walked back to the cabin when the sky rumbled again. I looked up. "Zeus doesn't seem happy..." I said. Jason looked up too.
"The sky is all clear? If he was angry he would have made it cloudy." He said. I nodded. That was true. The sky rumbled again.
"We should get inside.." I said and took a step forward but stumbled as the sky rumbled again, and the ground shook. "What the?" The rest of the Soldiers came outside.
"What's happening?" Ethan asked.
"We don't know." Jason answered. I looked around the camp and saw the campers stopping in their tracks or stumbling forward as the ground shook again. Zale walked out of his tent, the immortal campers appeared out of the Big House with Chiron. I walked over to them, stumbling a bit on my way over to them.
"Do you have an idea of what this could be?" I asked them.
"I'm afraid not," Chiron said, shaking his head. "If this is Gaea waking up again-"
"It's not Gaea," A voice interrupted Chiron. I turned around and saw Zale.
"How can you be so sure?" Annabeth asked. "The ground is shaking, who else can cause the ground to shake?" She crossed her arms.
"The sky is rumbling, the ground only started to shake because of the sky." He said and gained balance after the earth shook again.
"But it can't be Zeus? Right?" Piper asked and looked at Jason. It was clear that she still loved him. You could see it in her eyes, and you could see on Jason that he still loved her. It was cute.
Jason shook his head. "No, I don't think it's Zeus." He said.
"Then who can it be?" I asked.
"I uh.. may have an idea.." Zale spoke up quietly. We all looked at him.
"Who are you thinking of, Zale?" Chiron asked.
"Ouranos.." He said and his shoulders slumped a bit down.
"Ouranos?!" Annabeth said. "If it's him then we're doomed!" She exclaimed.
"It can't be him." Zoë said. "He's gone."
"Yeah, but you saw Gaea rise, now her husband is rising. It would only make sense, right?" Zale asked. "After we defeated Gaea, he wants revenge or something. It makes sense." He said. I nodded.
"I agree with Zale for once." I said. He nodded and I could see a faint smile in the shadow of his hood.
Chiron nodded. "That may be correct." He said.
"Wait." Hazel said, "You said 'we', but you weren't there when we defeated Gaea." She narrowed her eyes at Zale. I looked at him. I swear I could hear a small curse leave his mouth. Then he slowly reached up and pulled his hood down. I widened my eyes. Before me stood the one and only Perseus Jackson!
"In fact.. I was actually there when we defeated her." He answered. He had a cat grin cut into his skin. It made it look like he was always smiling. His sea green eyes were dull but they were still sparkling a bit. His jet black hair was messy as ever. Annabeth ran to him and hugged him, his whole posture froze, but then he seemed to break out of it and hug her back.
"Percy," She breathed out and pulled him out from her to get a good look on him. I kind of felt like we were intriguing on something. Then she slapped him.
"Ow," He complained.
"You promised to never disappear again!" She scolded. He opened his mouth to answer, but got interrupted when the ground shook and the sky rumbled loudly.
"It's great to have you back dude," Leo grinned. "But I think we have more pressing matters at the moment."
Percy smiled. "Yes. But I still believe it may be Ouranos who's waking up somehow." His smile quickly disappeared. "Look out!" He shouted, but before any of us could do anything we got shot through the air. I slammed into a tree and groaned. Damn, that hurt. I got up on my knees and looked at where I had been just two seconds ago. I had been shot ten feet away from the Big House. I got up and swayed a bit but kept my balance. I looked around and saw the immortal campers, the rest of my team, Chiron and Percy slowly get up. What was that force? It felt like a giant hand had grabbed me and then swung me through the air, slamming me into a tree.
I drew my sword and searched for the person who could have done that, but didn't see anyone. I dropped my sword as my arm jerked forward then bent into an odd angle and broke. I screamed out in pain. I drew my knife and tried to stab the air where the force had broken my arm, but the knife just sliced through air, hitting nothing. I got pushed forward and dropped my knife. I stumbled as I received a hit to my face. I received another hit and fell back onto my back. The last thing I saw before blacking out was a buff tall man with longish dark hair, his skin was blue. His eyes looked down at me before I felt a force punch me. Everything turned black.
