Chapter 8

"Nick?" I called out as I closed the door to the apartment. Silence. "Nick!"

"In the kitchen!" he shouted back. I walked in the kitchen and saw him cooking a box of mac n' cheese. "I made some for you, too," he informed me. I nodded and leaned against the counter. "So, about that woman earlier," he started. I glanced over at him.

"Did she happen to say her name?" I questioned. Nick nodded and stopped stirring, looking at me.

"She said, and I quote, I am Nyssa. Daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, heir to the Demon," he quoted. I nodded. It was definitely Nyssa. He shrugged. "Then she asked who I was." My head whipped towards him.

"What did you say?" I asked, my eyes wide. He stared at me as if I were crazy.

"Nicolas Parker. Then she asked if I had a sister. I was so scared that I told her I did. Then she said to tell Katerina that she was here. Whoever the hell Katerina is. I just feel bad for the girl who that woman is after," Nick explained. The news caught my eyes when I saw a bow and arrow. I turned up the TV.

"And the vigilantes strike again!" the woman said. "The two original archers now have a girl by their side kicking butt. Known as the Purple Arrow, this blondie sure can kick some butt," the woman continued. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. Blondie? Really? That's the best they can do?

"I agree. I wonder if she's dating one of her partners," the man said. To this day I still have no idea who the reporters are. "She left a purple arrow in a man's chest today. I thought they stopped killing last year after the Undertaking," he said. My eyes widened. Nyssa. Just as I was about to call Oliver my phone rang.

"Oliver, I swear I didn't kill him!" I yelled. Nick stared at me with wide eyes, dropping the bowl of noodles in his hands. My eyes widened. "Oh shit!" I screeched.

"Kat, what is going on?" he yelled, "I thought you agreed not to kill. Hell, you didn't even want to kill in the first place!" I scowled.

"That wasn't me. Is Dig with you?" Voices muttered before Dig came on the line.

"Kat, what is going on?" Diggle asked loudly. I sighed.

"She's trying to get Clarity and I. She wants us with my brother at Nanda Parbat. She won't stop! We have to do something!" I yelled while on the verge of tears. Nick was still staring at me in shock. He was frozen. I heard Diggle sigh.

"We'll figure this out. For now just stay with Nick and hope he hasn't pieced it together with your yelling," Dig ordered. I nodded my head to the side.

I opened my mouth to respond when Nick shouted, "You're the Purple Arrow?" before running to his room and slamming the door.

"Damnit! I have to go, Dig. Help me with this," I hissed before slamming my phone on the counter. Damnit! I picked up my phone and chucked it across the room, screaming as I did so. I swiped everything off of the counter, the landline falling to the ground and breaking. Finally when I had calmed down I gripped my hair in my hands and slowly slid down the wall, crying. My brother just found out my biggest secret. He hates me. He thinks I'm a killer.

I sat on the floor, sobbing, for God knows how long before Nick sat down in front of me. I didn't notice until he put his hand on my knee and had a sympathetic glance. "What?" I asked, sniffling. I guess I was a little harsh because he pulled his hand away and flinched. "I'm not going to hurt you, Nick. I never would," I muttered. He sighed.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why let me think that you were out screwing a married man or something?" he asked. I couldn't help but laugh. Nick cracked a smile. Me? Screwing a married man? Funny. I shrugged.

"I didn't want you involved. If someone found out you knew then they could hurt you. Or kill you."

"Gee, thanks for sugar coating it," he said sarcastically. This time I giggled.

"I don't sugar coat anything, dude. You should know that." He nodded. I placed my hand on his. "But you should know that I'd do anything for you," I said. He thought about it for a moment.

"Does that mean no more secrets?" I shook my head.

"No. Secrets for me are a must. Sorry, but maybe when you're older. If I don't get killed by this psycho. But um...this stays between us," I told him. He nodded then stared at me. "What?"

"What does Oliver have to do with this? And who's Dig?" My eyes widened. I forgot he was in the room when I said their names. "Are they the other two archers? Because if so it would be awesome. My sister dating an archer while she is one," he said with a goofy grin. I laughed again. What would I do without him? I could never lose him.

"No. And Oliver and I aren't dating. Never have, never will. He loves Felicity."

Nick smirked.

"Never say never."

"Did you just quote Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez?" I asked. His face went red. "Oh my gosh! You do listen to their music!" I yelled and kept laughing.

Nick and I woke up on the couch with the news still on. They spent two hours going on and on about the three archers from the beginning, along with Malcolm Merlyn. I had heard of him, but he and his son, Oliver's best friend, were dead when I got here. It was unfortunate really. I wanted to meet Tommy. He and Oliver seems like they clicked just fine. They were both frat boys who went to parties and came back drunk. If they even got home that night. I chuckled to myself at the thought. For some odd reason my mind drifted to Clarity. I wondered what she was doing. That was when I got the call from Oliver. "Hello?" I asked.

"Hey, Kat. We need to go to Central City to follow a lead. Are you coming?" he asked me. I nodded, but then remembered that he couldn't see me.

"Yeah. When are we leaving?"

"In an hour." He hung up. He hung up! I bolted up and quickly packed a few things, knowing it probably wouldn't be long.

"Where are you going?" Nick asked, sitting up as I was about to head out the door. Right. My brother. Forgot about him.

"The Arrow and our team are going to Central City to follow a lead. I have to go. Can you behave while I'm gone? Without any girls over?" I explained. He nodded, not even bothering to ask how long I was gone. I knew he had enough money and if not I left some on the counter for him.

Felicity and I chatted as we made our way to Central City. "Are going to see Barry?" I asked. She shrugged. Oliver glared at me. "What?" I asked him. He shook his head. I smirked slightly. I looked to Oliver and mouth the word 'jealous'. He scowled and looked out the window.

"Are you going to see Clarity?" she questioned. I nodded.

"Of course. And Caitlin and Cisco. But not Dr. Wells. He seems...off. I just get a bad vibe from him," I explained to her. She nodded. We finally stopped and I looked out the window to see the city all lit up. It was night time. "Ready to kick ass?" I asked. Dig glared at me. "Okay. No energy. Got it," I grumbled. Ollie and Diggle rolled their eyes before getting out.

I know it's not that good but I'm trying. Book 2 will be totally different.
