Piper

11:10, 1 January 2017

I think Jason is breaking up with me. He is being too nice. I mean, he is ALWAYS nice, there is no doubt about that, but now he is going overboard on the niceness.

He won't look me in the eye. He now talks with a nervous wave in his voice. And I haven't seen him smile since the game. It is time to find out.

He's at his cabin, well... On top of it.

"Jason!" I yell up.

"Yeah?" He says, not even looking down.

"Am I going to need a latter or is my superman gonna come help me up?"

I think I hear a laugh. Quiet, but there. In another second, there he is. I hug him and he starts floating up to the roof.

"What's wrong Jason?" I don't like to avoid the topic.

"What?"

"Are we breaking up?" I look up to meet his eyes. The striking blue of them is something I missed.

"Pipes..."

"No Jason. Is that why you're acting this weird?"

"What do you want to hear?"

"The truth, Jason. Don't avoid it."

"Fine, yes," He spits out the words like a flavorless piece of gum.

"Yes what?"

"I think we should break up, Piper. Happy?"

"About the truth? Yes. The fact that you just broke up with me? No,"

"Are you okay with that, though? I...I don't want to hurt you, but it seems like staying together could eventually lead to an even worse ending than this," Now here comes the reasoning.

"How?"

"When I woke up on a bus, you were holding my hand. I didn't even know you, but the stupid Mist weaved together a tale in your head that we were dating. I'll never forget the look on your face when you realized that. Then, Reyna was crushed because of the situation, which I won't get into it. Now we're dating and it feels, to me, fake. I've kept denying and denying it to myself, and even tricked myself into believing, but I can't help it anymore," He blurts it out in a long breath. At the end his voice finally catches on, most likely, a lump in his throat.

"I'm sorry you feel that way," Is all I can say.

"I'm sorry too. You're awesome and I don't know why I don't..." He falters.

"Love me," I finish. I look straight into his eyes, "Okay, superman," I pull him into one last hug and a kiss, "Get me off of this roof,"
