It completely seemed like chaos. Two-bit was rummaging through the refrigerator, Sodapop ran out of the kitchen after Steve hurried Soda for work. And Steve bothered Ponyboy when Soda left.

Although everything, Darry was the only collected one, sitting on the end of the table– eating Ponyboy's breakfast.

I sat across from Darry, taking the plate Ponyboy served me. "So how's life doin' to you?" Darry asked, taking a bite of the bacon.

"Pretty calm- School's.." At the mention of school I widened my eyes. My God I forgot about school! And It's Wednesday! "Oh my God- I forgot it's a school day."

Ponyboy shrugged. "I ain't that big of a deal. It won't hurt skippin' one day from school." I blinked, staring at him quietly before turning to Darry. "Do you approve of that?"

"I do, but just for today."

Darry had finished his breakfast. "Well, I have to go to work. Nice seein' you again Y/n."

"Nice seein' you too Darry."

He stood by the wall, snatched the keys on the hanger and yelled, "Hurry up boys. I ain't got much time to drop ya'll off. So don't take a long while." Sodapop came running on to the hallway, leaning on the wall for support to put his shoes on."Goin', just wait some seconds.. I won't take long." Steve held Soda on the other side when he saw him stumbling often. "Be patient, Mr. Muscles. We know." Darry glared at Steve and walked out the door. Sodapop quickly ate Ponyboy's breakfast and smiled, "Hey uhm, Y/n?"

"Yeah?"

"By the way, Boss gave me and Stevie an early day off."

I softly smiled at him "That's great.."

"I know- so I wanted to ask if you'd like to hang out with us after we're done with our shifts?"

Wait, what?

I didn't really expect that. Or was it so obvious? I mean why am I talking to myself like if he asked me for a date. No, it could never be.. I mean they could never like a girl like me. He has Sandy, Steve has Evie...No they could never.

"Sure, I guess if it doesn't bother you guys, Evie and Sandy."

Sodapop raised a brow. "Evie and Sandy?"

"Yeah, aren't you dating her.. And Steve, Evie?"

He chuckled, shaking his head. "No, me and Sandy broke up. Evie and Steve were just on a casual date." What? They were not together? Since when?

"Sure- If it doesn't bother both of you."

Steve winked, "Doesn't bother us. You're mighty fine Doll." He said, showing a smirk- earning a smack on the head from Soda.

"Boys I'm heading to the car- I'm only waiting 5 minutes."

"Be here around 3:15.. Meet us here by then, yeah?"

"Alright, no worries- I'll be here at that time."

"Well-It's settled. Bye y/n see you later." Steve waved and left, while Sodapop stood by the doorframe, "See you princess."

I waved goodbye- watching him leave.I Leaned back into my chair, paying attention to Ponyboy. "And so.. How old are you, Ponyboy?" I asked as he sat down across from me. "I'm fourteen- been fourteen for a month."

"Wait so you just turned fourteen and we're halfway through highschool?" So he was thirteen this year as a freshman? I turned fifteen then.. He surely is very smart to be in that grade so early. "I also have advanced classes." He smirked.

I rolled my eyes, holding back a chuckle. But my smile was still evident, " Okay I get it."

He laughed, " And what about you? What grade are you in?"

"Sophmore" I replied.

He nodded, "So you're sixteen then?"

"Yup." Not sure why it felt like I was OLD. He made me seem old even if I'm the average age for my grade. "Yeah I'm not that old y'know."

"You look younger though."

I smiled, sort of pleased, "Thanks."

We ate breakfast in comfortable silence before I shifted the silence away. "So tell me Pony." I started "How's life in highschool? Any enemies, friends that I might know- Crushes?"

"Uh.." He looked at his half- emptied plate. "You know Cherry Valance?"

"Why- uh yes I do know her." His face flushed "I like her" He said.. Of course he did- but his sudden frown caught me off guard. "But yesterday night she told me she doesn't want to talk to me during school. Because I'm a grease and she's a Soc."He sighed, running his hand up the side of his neck. "Hey Ponyboy, don't worry about it. I know you'll find a better girl who doesn't care about classes."

"Thanks." He smiled slightly.

When we finished eating- We cleared the table and Pony washed the dishes. He told me that it was a morning routine for one to make breakfast and the other two to clean. But Darry and Soda were in a hurry.

I wiped my hands with a cloth, leaning on the counter. "So what now?"

"Uh..I don't know? Maybe help me with homework?"

"What? The smart boy can't do his own homework?" I teased. "Come on, Y/n. All people struggle with something. We ain't perfect."

"I know- I was just playin'" I moved "I'll help you why not? We might even have the same work- Since you're so brainy." Pony chuckled, leading me out of the kitchen "I'll take that as a compliment."

"Hey where ya'll goin'?" Two-bit hollered. He was laying on the couch with a beer in hand. "I'm taking Y/n to my room. She's goin' to help me with my homework."

Two-bit narrowed his eyes, staring at us suspiciously. "I don't buy it- you're a smart kid. I hope you're intentions aren't of a fun time because I can't babysit ya'll two- and if something goes wrong, three."

Me and pony blushed mad. "Shut your trap Two-bit"

Goodness gracious. Two-bit snickered- turning back to the T.V "Careful."He finally said.Β

Ponyboy was not facing me but I could tell he was deeply flustered. His ears and neck looked red. "Sorry 'bout that. Two-bit can be a pain in the ass."

I chucked "I can tell."
