I woke up to the morning scent of bacon and eggs filling my senses.
In exhaustion, I sat up, the blanket falling off my chest down into my lap. Rubbing my eyes, I looked at the sleeping figure beside me and sighed:
Ah, it's Sodapop..
Sodapop?
Sodapop groaned, and turned to face me asleep. He looked so young when he was asleep. His lashes flattered his skin, his cheeks in faded pink. His chest rose up and down softly and slowly in peace. God he was so attractive..
But what am I doing besides him?
We were on the floor, covered in blankets, still in the same state of yesterday, except instead of sleeping in his room as he suggested I was sleeping BESIDE HIM. How-? Did I cry to sleep??? Did I faint?..God I hope not. How embarrassing...
Someone cleared their throat, standing right in front of us.. Or me. I was afraid to look up, surely it looked like a misunderstanding. "Up already? I thought you'd be comfortable enough to be sleeping." I looked up, and met Pony's smirking face watching us. He was holding a pan, with sizzling bacon on his right hand. I quickly stood up, but just making sure that Sodapop was covered. "Soβhow was the sleep with.. Soda?"
I blushed looking anywhere but at Pony, "It was alright.."
He chuckled walking back to the kitchen. "If you say so.." I followed after him, watching him place the pan on the stove and put the bacon on a separate plate. I was zoning out, trying to recall how I ended like that. Did I hold him tight enough to the point he couldn't move?
After a bit, while Pony was serving breakfast. I heard heavy footsteps nearby ."Guess who it is and I'll let go." A voice said, covering my eyes with his warm hands. I knew it was Soda.. I mean his voice is unmistakable. But why not play along?
"Steve?
"Nope."
"Two-bit?"
"Nuh-uh"
I giggled. "Just kiddin' I know it's you Soda."
He let go and gently lifted me up, turning me to face his way. God.. from close he was so handsome. "Mornin' Y/n."
I smiled, getting down to my feet. "Mornin' Soda." He rested his hands on my waist, looking down at me with that glint of happiness in his eyes.
"Did you sleep well? You look jolly."
That's when he leaned into my ear, warm breath caressing the side of my neck. "With you in my arms..? Mhm."
If I told you I looked like a tomato it's because I did. My arms were reddening and it was obvious I was flustered. He chuckled, pulling slightly away to see my state.
"Mornin' Soda." Ponyboy said, placing the plates on the table.
"Mornin' Pone."
"If you're not so busy flirting with Y/n, could you help set the table please?"
Before Soda could respond, a low voice interrupted. "Good Mornin'"
Sodapop quickly let go of me and turned. I looked behind Soda and my eyes widened. Brunette, Icy blue eyes, broad shoulders and big muscles... "Darrel?"
He looked at me, his stern look fading slightly. "Y/n? Well I haven't seen you in years."
I smiled, "It's nice seein' you again."
He nodded. "Likewise.. So why did you come by after so many years?"
"Dallas brought me here yesterday night." Darry raised an eyebrow, looking right at Sodapop. "Oh? She was here last night and ya'll didn't say a word?"
"Well no Superman we couldn't. You were in bed dead asleep." Soda answered. Darry glared at Soda then sighed walking to a seat on the table. I was amazed by his looks. Back then he was a slim boy, with that small smile he would show everyone. But now he was strong, well shaped.. A totally different change from the slim boy who would play football in his front yard with his friends. I helped pass Ponyboy the glasses to pour the chocolate milk he made, "Where's Dallas and the other boys?"
He shrugged, pouring the milk in each glass one by one. "Dally went to Buck's and the other boys went home."
As if in cue the front door slammed open, quickly filling the house with their noisy footsteps. "Anyone home!?" hollered Two-bit. Me and Pony peeked by the corner to see Two-bit and Steve coming together. "You better not slam that door again, both of you."
The boys looked at each other, then Steve slammed the door behind them. Darry's frustration was evident. He picked Steve up then threw him down, Steve stood on his feet stumbling when Darry put him down. "Don't test me Randle."
Steve faintly smirked. "You can't just handle the Randle, Superdope."
Two-bit walked over to me, patting my shoulder before heading to the refrigerator. "G'Mornin' Princess. So how was the night on this gloomy prision?"
"Yeah did you see any of those big rats around running around the house?"Steve continued.Β
"What do you meant 'Big Rats?'. We clean this house all ot the time. There can't be big ra-"
"We're jokin' alright?" Steve said cutting Ponyboy off. Rolling my eyes, I still managed to smile. They're so stupid to be honest. "Actually I'm fine I slept well."
I saw Two-bit smirk, and before he spoke I raised my hand. "Don't" I said.
