Sodapop's eyes softened and his cheeky grin dropped, so did Steve and Two-bit. Only did Two-bit play with the beer bottle, swirling his thumb 'round the surface. Sodapop walked over to me and checked my forehead, and then my neck, quickly grabbing a handkerchief and wiping the crimson blood off. "You're real hurt.. What happened y/n?" I was tensed when he laid a hand on my shoulder but relaxed into his touch, I sighed and shook my head. "Don't worry 'bout it." I assured him. I didn't wanna worry him, besides I came here unexpectedly after many years. And the first thing they see is me bein' hurt. But he wasn't convinced, he isn't a fool, I know that. "Y/n I'm worried for ya, It ain't necessary to lie like that. Just tell me, did you get jumped?"
Β I sighed, "I..yeah I did. I got jumped by some Socs.." I said Socs with disgust, even hatred. I didn't like 'em. They are some rich kids who like to show off, that like to jump Greasers and bruise 'em. They have a reputation for having the most shit, having tuff cars. But they ain't got nothing of sympathy or dignity.
"D'you need a place to stay? We don't mind havin' you here." He offered with a soft smile. Dallas raised a brow, " That's what I brought this doll here for Soda. She needs to rest for the night."Β
I felt a kick in my head and winced a bit. Sodapop noticed, Dallas didn't. "Of course y/n.. It ain't no problemo, welcome." He smiled again and I smiled back. I felt guilty for usin' his help. I hated to be a bother. "Thanks Soda."

Sodapop's POV
I nodded and left quickly to my room. I was worried for her, she was an old friend of mine and seeing her hurt, hurt me as well. Although deep inside I was happy. Happy that I get to see her once again after so many years. And seeing her this night brightened my heart again. Y/n and I were really close when children, and that was thanks to mom who brought her to meet us. She was very different to be honest. Very quiet, I always thought she was mute, or deaf. Because the many times I called her she wouldn't hear or that was because her nose was stuck on a book or on her journal or diary..whatever you call that. I remember asking mom to walk her down the grocery store, she wasn't surprised for she grinned and patted my shoulder.Β
"You want to walk her hm?"
"Please mom, a girl can't walk by her lonesome." She gave me a side eye and smirked. I walked over to her and hugged her waist. She always knew what was going on. I didn't, she assumed and always was right. She knew when I lied, or Darry or even dad or our baby brother Pony. But thinking of the smirk. I never understood. "Come with me, she's outside."Β
"Outside why?"Β
She smiled and walked me to the front porch where I saw her leaning on the fence like the first day I saw her. "She comes to pay sometimes, her parents weren't there when dad fixed the rooftops. So she has the money." I nodded and ran over to her. " Hi Y/n!" I said way to enthusiastically. She looked up and smiled. "Hi Sodapop." Mom walked over and opened the gate and she got in.
Β " Here you go mam', my parents weren't here today. Had jury duty..so I came to pay." She gently took the cents of her hand and grinned. "Thank you dear.. Oh and Y/n are you getting groceries today?"
"Yes mam', why?" She looked down to me . "Little Soda wants to walk you, it's not proper of a little girl to walk by herself is it?" I saw her shrug and look at me. " Sure, I was headin' there already, If ya wanna come." And with that, I walked right beside her. For several days I spent with her, walking her anywhere. And I was thankful. I never thought quiet people are fun to talk to, but they are if you get to know 'em.
I opened the door to see Ponyboy studying in his desk, papers all over and pencil on his lap. "Hey Pony." I said quickly picking my clothes and throwing them to our basket. "Hey Soda, why so neat out of the sudden?" I smiled while picking the last shirt and turned to him. He stopped scribbling and put his pencil down. He was confused, or concerned for my sudden change. "Remember Y/n? Our neighbor mom used to talk 'bout?" He raised a brow. "The little girl I used ta walk?"Β
"Oh, yeah. What 'bout it?"Β
"She's here." He blinked in surprise. " Wait actually? The girl I never talked to?"Β
"You don't talk to no girls Pone." I said now walking to the bed and fixing it. He rolled his eyes and got up before pushing his chair. "You know what I mean Soda. The girl mom told me to present myself to?" I nodded and sat on the new fixed bed. I was thinking of letting her sleep here, and Pony and I would sleep on the living room.Β
"Well, I'll get this cleaned up, She might sleep here."Β
"In our room? Soda! I have very private stuff here." He protested. "If it ain't no Playboy magazine then we're fine." I joked and he rolled his eye again. "Fine, I just hope she doesn't mess with my stuff. You go tell her. I'll get the room ready."
"Alright thanks Pone." I smiled and walked out of the room, looking for Y/n once again.
