Chapter 26

21:45, 18 July 2014

"So Riley, huh?" Cody kept his eyes on the TV. I looked over at him to see a smile appear on his face. "I didn't know you were listening to that." I covered my face. "I think it's cute that you've got names picked out." "It's not creepy?" "Not to me." He wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body into his.

"You like the names then?" "I think they're all pretty." "That's good then." "Why is that good?" "Because that's what I want to call my children and the father has to agree." "You want children with me?" He raised his eyebrows. "No. Let's stop talking about this." I hid my face in the pillow. Cody laughed at me and pulled me so I'd have to look at him.

"It's normal to think about the future while you're in a long term relationship." "Bu-" "I know we lost three months but if we'd stayed together it would have been ten months this month. That's a long time. It's natural to think about it." "We're too young to think about that." "Says who?" He asked. I shrugged and looked down.

"I've thought about it." He broke the silence after a few moments. "Yeah?" "Uhuh." He nodded. "Like what?" "If we we're still together in a few years we're gonna buy our own place." "In Cali?" "At first, yeah. It's gonna have to be by the beach though. But far enough away from our families to give us space." He said while staring at the ceiling.

"On the possibility that we'd be together for enough time to get married we'd do that and we'd buy an ocean-front house out here as well as our house in California. We'd bring up our children in both America and Australia." He continued with his story.

"I'll teach our son-" "Riley." I smiled. "I'll teach our son, Riley, to surf from a young age and our two little girls will live on the beach. They'll be so close.. Almost like best friends and Jazmyn will copy everything Georgia does, just like little sisters do." "That sounds good." "We'll have a dog too. We'll get him from a puppy around the time we have our first child so that our children will have a little buddy to play with at all times." "I like the sound of that." I nodded.

"But this stays between us because like I've said before, I've got a reputation to stick to." He said which made me giggle. "I'll tell the world about Cody Robert Simpson's marriage plans." I grinned at him as he rolled onto his side to look at me. "If you do that, I'll tell the world about how creepy you are to have your baby names picked out." "I dare you." I stuck my tongue out.

"Are you sleepy?" Cody tucked my hair behind my ear. "A little bit." "You wanna go somewhere?" "We can't. We got the babies." I rolled onto my back. "Let's go in the hottub." Cody sat up. "It's like eleven." I sat up too. "I don't care. Let's have some fun." He said while looking through his suitcase. I laughed and joined him.

"We should go skinny dipping." I grinned. "We got the babies." Cody copied what I'd said a minute ago. "Wow. You actually turned down me being naked." I said in shock. "You don't need to be naked for me to love you." "Sure sure." I went into the bathroom with my bikini.

My bikini had neon pink bottoms and the top had neon blue, pink and green patterns on it. It was a bandeau style. When I came back out of the bathroom Cody had already changed. "I like that." Cody said. "Thank you." I smiled and went onto the balcony. "Okay, you turn it on because I have no idea how to do it." I giggled while climing into the tub.

Cody turned it on and got in with me. "The ocean looks so beautiful." I admired the view. "It does." Cody agreed. "Lauren..?" I heard Lilly's voice. Cody and I both looked at the balcony door. "Yeah?" "I can't sleep." "You want me to come tell you a story?" "I wanna come in the hottub with you." She said.

I sighed and then got up. "Where are you going?" Cody caught my wrist. "I'm gonna go get her something to wear." I said. "No. Send her back to bed." He said quietly enough for only me to hear. "It'll be fine." "I want some time with just you." "She's not going to be here for long." "Lauren.." He groaned.

"Grow up." I pulled my hand free and got out of the tub. "Come on. Let's go get you some stuff." I took her hand and went inside. "What's everyone doing?" Tom's voice caught my attention. "We're going in the hottub." "Can I come?" "Yeah. Come with us and we'll get you something to wear in there too." I said and he got up.

In the morning I woke up to an empty bed. I groaned and looked around before closing my eyes again. I heard Cody laugh but I didn't respond to it. "You need to get up. We're going out in a half hour." "I'm asleep." I mumbled into the pillow.

"Maybe if you hadn't invited Lilly and Tom into the hottub last night, we would have got to bed a lot earlier." I rolled over to look at him. "Why are you still pissed about that?" "We never spend any time together." "Yes we do! That's all we do." "I had around half an hour with you yesterday." "We were together all day." "Alone. I just want to spend time with you alone and it seems like the only way to do that these days is to get you into bed. I'm tired of it." He said before leaving the room.

I rolled my eyes at him and laid there for a few more minutes. "Lauren! Get up!" Cody shouted from the kitchen. I instantly got out of bed. "What are we doing today?" "Going to a waterpark with Jake's family." He said loud enough for me to hear.

I decided to wear the bikini I wore last night and threw a simple, white dress over it along with some white shoes. I tied my hair into a messy ponytail and applied a little makeup before putting the essentials into a purse and leaving the bedroom.

"It didn't take me that long to get ready." "Eat this and go." Cody passed me a sandwich and went towards the door. I followed him with the sandwich and we went to meet everyone in the lobby. "Where are Lilly and Tom?" "I took them back this morning." He said. I could tell he was still mad with me.

"You're wasting time now. We're alone together and yet you don't want to talk to me. I don't understand what you want from me." "I want quality time with you. Not ten minutes before we go to sleep at night or ten minutes before we get out of bed in the morning or even five minutes while we're in the elevator going to the fucking lobby." He glared at me. I stayed quiet.

"You're late!" Brad greeted us. "Couldn't imagine why." Cody glared at me the same way he did in the elevator. "If you'd woken me up earlier than maybe we wouldn't be late." I smiled sarcastically. "It's always my fault, isn't it?" "Pretty much." I nodded and walked towards Alli.

"I sense an argument." She laughed as we began walking outside. "I want to spend time with you." I mimicked Cody's voice. "All we do is spend time together! He's like a fucking baby! He can't be away from me for two hours and it's so annoying!" I ranted. "We're always together. Always side by side. I just want some time to breathe and he can't handle that." I carried on.

"Just give him what he wants then. Cody doesn't get mad often so if he's mad then there's got to be something seriously wrong." "But I want a break. If we spend too much time together, we argue. If we don't spend enough time together, we argue. It's like we're going in circles." I sighed and sat on a wall.

"And anyway. I want time with you too. We hardly ever spend time together anymore and it's not fair. You're my best friend and you've been my best friend since I was eleven. Why does he get priority all of a sudden?" "Because he's your boyfriend and he's needy. He needs constant attention, just like you said, he's like a big baby."

"Something he said really hit me." I said while staring at Cody who was talking to Trey. We're all waiting for our taxis to arrive. "What's that?" "He said that it seems like the only way to spend quality time with me alone these days is to get me into bed." "Did he mean like sex or just in bed?" "I don't know." I looked at the floor.

"Cara!" Alli called her. She came over and sat with us on the wall. "We have a dilemma." "Is it what the boys are talking about?" She wondered. "What are they talking about?" I looked up at her. "This argument." "Well kind of, it's.. I'll let you tell her, Lon." Alli said. I nodded and looked over at the boys once more before looking at Cara.

"He said that the only way to spend time with me these days is to get me into bed. What does he mean?" I asked. Alli and I both stared at her for answers. "That's what they were talking about. Cody literally said that pretty much word for word to Trey. Cody said that he thinks you only ever talk to him with depth while you're in bed. As well as sex being a way for the two of your to spend time together and he doesn't like that he has to turn to that to have your full attention." She explained.

"See he's saying that to Trey but he's never told me that." I looked at the ground. "He's complaining that I don't talk to him when he doesn't tell me what's on his mind. He expects me to guess what's up yet gets mad when I do the same." "You guys neeeeeed to talk." Cara said. "And I mean talk. I don't mean five minutes before bed. I mean sit down and talk about everything that's going on." "It always turns into an argument when we do that though." I sighed.

"Relationships are hard. They're not all fun and games and I think it's just starting to hit you guys." "You can say that again." I laughed a little. "Alright. Let's go." I jumped off the wall and walked towards the cars which had just arrived.

When we got to the water park we met up with Jake and the rest of his family. "I'm going to sleep." I set a towel on my sunbed and took off my dress before lying down. "Can someone wake me up in an hour?" I asked. "Yeah." Cody sat down next to me. "You're talking to me now, huh?" I looked at him but he ignored me.

I felt splashes of water on me so I opened my eyes. "Hour's up." Cody grinned. "You could of woken me up nicely." I said while he continued to shake his head, the water from his hair still hitting me. "Can you come play with us on the slides?" Poppy and Lilly gave me puppy eyes. "Let's go girls." I took one of their hands each and we walked towards the slides.

After lunch Cody, Trey and Jake dared Alli and I to go on the biggest slide. It's the tallest one there and it's vertical. You have to stand on the ledge and then it disappears from under you and you just fall. "It's so high!" I stared up at it. "I can't go on that." Alli refused. "Don't be a baby." Jake laughed.

"I can't." I shook my head. "Yes you can." "No." "Just go up the steps. If you don't like it when you're up there you can come back down." Cody lead me to the stairs. Alli unwillingly followed. We climbed all the way to the top which took forever.

"No. I can't go on this. No." I tried to move but Cody held me in place. "Jake and I will go first." Cody suggested. "You've already been on it." I looked at him. "And we're willing to go again. Trey, don't let them chicken out." Jake said while standing on the ledge. Cody stood on the one next to him. I looked at Alli who was staring at them in fear. We both jumped as the boys disappeared.

"Oh my gosh! No!" Alli tried to turn but Trey caught her. "Nope!" He lifted her onto the ledge and then pushed me to the one next to her. The life guard laughed at us. "Do you want a countdown?" He asked. "No." I shook my head quickly. "This is gonna be priceless." Trey laughed. "I don't like this." I watched Cody and Jake at the end of the slide.

Alli and I screamed as our ledges moved. My body was pushed around and water was thrown everywhere as I went down the slide and then the light came back and the tube from around me ended. It was over.

"I hate you." I said as a smug looking Jake helped me to my feet. "And you." I looked at Cody who had a matching smug look. "That was one of the worst things I've ever done." Alli said. "And I also hate both of you." We moved to the side and waited for Trey.

"Your hair's coming out." Cody pulled my hairband out all the way and put it on his wrist. "I'm sorry abou-" "Trey's out!" Alli went over there. "Can we go somewhere?" Cody asked. I nodded. "Where do we go?" "Guys, we're gonna go some place else." Cody stood up off the wall. "Okay." They smiled. "I guess you could buy me some fries." I looked at him with a smile.

"I could do that. If I had money with me." "Oh right." We went back to our sunbeds where everyone else was. "Can we have some money? We wanna go get some food." Cody said to Angie. "We were all gonna go get some lunch actually." She said. "Oh great." Cody said sarcastically which made me laugh.

"Can we stay here and you bring us something back?" Cody sat on a sunbed. "Is something going on?" Mom looked between us. "Nope." I shook my head and sat on my sunbed. "We'll go get a takeout and bring it back so everyone can eat together." "Don't bother. We'll come with you." Cody sighed and got up. I got up too and we all went to get some lunch.
