Mission: Quarto

A/N: Hi readers again~~ As you can see this is a new fic, umm...so yeah, surprise! I have to use up my Ejen Ali fairy dust, and I got a story idea in a few day's time, and that's how this story begun. Hopefully you'll like this fic :3 (Promise it's better than Mission PT&PR!!) An alarm rings. On the bed, laid a boy named Ali. He was fifteen this year. Nothing much has changed since the event of Uno trying to steal IRIS, but also, at the same time, lots have changed.

The alarm didn't seem to have woke him up, for he kept on drooling comfortably.

A white fur ball, with an elegant long tail and a green and blue eye each, Comot was Ali's pet cat. It had found its way through his door, attracted by the sound of the alarm. This cat however, was slightly different to other cats. Noting that its owner wasn't reacting to his alarm, Comot prepared to launch itself on Ali's face.

"Argh! Comot!"

Comot immediately jumped down from the bed to avoid Ali's flailing arms and legs. It stared at him as he settled. And it was only a moment or two before Ali realised the alarm had been ringing all along.

"Oh shoot! Not again!"

He slammed his fist on the alarm and hurriedly got out from his bed, skipping shower, immediately changing into his school uniform, had a quick breakfast, and was about to leave the house when he felt something pulling at his leg.

Comot, its two white paws on its owner's white school shoes, looked at him with its wide eyes.

"Oh." Ali said when he realised. He was so forgetful. "Sorry, Comot."

And he rushed to pour food into Comot's food bowl before running out again.

He was very lucky indeed to be on time for school. He panted, and given himself a pat on a back as he walked to his seat, at the far back of the class.

In front of him sat the same girl he had known for years and had loathed. Alicia, his primary schoolmate and his current one still. Not that he wanted to be in the same school as her, but since they were under the same secret agency, it was more convenient to have them to go to the same school.

"Is everybody in?" the class teacher, Mr Kamarul, said out loud.

"Yes." all the students echoed at once.

The student sitting beside Ali had only realised him sitting there.

"Eh, Ali?!" Guan Rin said, thunderstruck.

"What is it, Guan Rin?" Mr Kamarul asked.

"N-nothing, sir. Ali's here today," he added responsibly.

"Yeah. I already noticed that. Not everyday that seat is occupied."

At that sentence, several students gave glances and giggled at Ali. Only Alicia seemed not effected by this outbreak of giggles. And that was something he liked about her.

"OK, good morning, class!"

"Good morning, Mr Kamarul!"

It was English class now. The teacher, an old woman with curly, long black hair, was passing out papers to each of the students.

She was about to come to Ali when Ali felt his phone vibrate. Whilst the teacher was busy scolding a boy on his right, for having been playing games behind her back all along, Ali quickly risked a glance at his phone.

The symbol of MATA stood out at his eyes and he knew he had to leave instantly. Alicia must've had the call too, for she looked at him with those dull, brown eyes.

Not knowing what this means, he nodded at her anyways, and addressed the teacher.

"Ms Lee." he said clearly.

Ms Lee stopped her scolding of Farhan and turned her attention to Ali instead.

"Yes, Ali?" she asked, quite irritated.

"Can I go to the bathroom?"

Ms Lee looked on the verge to burst out screaming at him, but Alicia's words forced her to repress it.

"I have to go too, miss."

Probably having a very heated argument in herself, she heaved a sighed and said, "Yes. One minute."

Ali walked around her to follow behind Alicia out of the classroom. In this school, the entrance to MATA's safehouse was quite different to the one in their primary school.

This time, it was located in the abandoned stairs that no one uses, due to a spread of rumour that those who enters would be haunted by ghosts.

Alicia didn't even bother about the presence of Ali as they went down the stairs to the floor below. Only when she stopped in front of the doors to the stairs that she whipped about to glare at him, her arms crossed.

"What?" Ali asked blankly.

"Why are you following me?"

"I have- I mean, we have a mission, innit?"

Alicia narrowed her eyes before she looked at a CCTV protruding from the ceiling. It moved in her direction, and Ali's too. Next moment they knew, the door to the abandoned stairs clicked open.

Inside, however, was no longer stairs. It has been renovated by MATA into a lift that sinks underground. And that's where the safehouse is.

The two were in a long, white and empty hallway, which at the end is the entrance to the Control Room.

"So..." Ali started slowly.

"What?" she asked, not looking at him as they walked along the corridor.

"Never mind," he muttered.

The blue wall in front of them slid open to welcome them in. After Jenny, the spy which Uno has planted into MATA, left, another Tekno agent had agreed to help out with Ali's team.

Her name was Sapphire. She has eyes as blue as the ocean and light, long white hair, which was tied in a messy bun. She stood there, smiling in her red Tekno uniform, as Ali and Alicia came in.

Ali would've wowed if it weren't for him coming here for the 608th time. It was a circular blue room with a blue holographic platform at the centre.

"Good." General Rama said, who was on the large screen in front of them. "Sapphire, explain their mission to them."

Sapphire nodded at General Rama's screen.

"Ali, Alicia," Sapphire addressed them. "Today your mission is Quarto."

"Quarto?" Ali asked blankly.

"Quarto is the new agent Uno's team has recruited," she explained. "We have yet to know who this agent is, but they're definitely out there."

"So what's our task?" Alicia interrupted coldly. She wasn't one for small talks.

Sapphire nodded, agreeing with her. "Your mission is to find out who's Quarto. We have found a location that Uno's group has been spotted several times."

A hologram of the base where Ali had once had his Inviso training popped up on the holographic platform.

"Isn't that-?" Ali started.

"Yes." Sapphire said. "That is one of MATA's secret training bases. But they're not doing anything to the base...they're literally just...roaming about the surface area."

"Maybe they wanted to wait for the right time to break in." Alicia suggested, who, like a Neuro, has strategic ideas about this and that.

General Rama grunted, a sign of agreement with his daughter. "Alright, you may go now. Act immediately!"
