Chapter 12 ~ Percy

Chapter 12

Percy

As much as i love Annabeth she sure can get us into sticky situations. Well she thinks everything ok, me not so much. Right now we are standing in the middle of a make shift camp with over eighty demi-gods, and i'm using all my will power not to grab Annabeth and run. But i'm doing this for camp, we need more demigods.

"So whats that favor you need?" We entered a tent that looks like to be his, it was big and he was the only person occupying it. I notice other tents have about ten people in them, all with same appearences. I looked at Annabeth and saw her bite her lip. This is gonna be tough.

"We need help!" She just blurted it out. He raised his eyebrow at us.

"You two need help? The great Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson needs our help?!" He threw his head back and laughed.

"NOT US!" She screamed at him. "Our camp!"

"So? Why is this camp so special?"

"Its a camp for demigods, and currently we have a spy in our camp and they want to detroy us!" Annabeth was holding back tears. I knew this must be hard on her.

"How many are there of you guys?" Me and Annabeth looked at each other and shrugged.

"200, maybe more," I shrugged. "Plus we have the Roman demigods with us so thats what 400 altogether. But thats not the point! We need to recruit more demigods." Reece just stared at us.

"Percy we've heard stories of what you and Annabeth have done! Its incredible especially about your battle with the time lord! Then you defeated Gia! Guys your indestructible! Why do you need our help?! We aren't properly trained! We can't help you!" He looked defeated. "Besides they are the only family i have, they look up to me and i don't want to lead them into a death trap."

"It won't be Reece!" Annabeth took a step forward. "Me and Percy can train you!" Annabeth was pleading with him. "My camp is the only family i have left as well. I've been going there for ten years now! And after everything we've been through i'm not prepared to let the rogues take it from me! In the past year i've had to watch my siblings die infront of my eyes! I've lost my maes as well! I hate it as much as the next person but we fight for each other and what we believe in!" Reece just stared at her, his eyes cold.

"Don't pretend you know my pain Chase!" Annabeth glared at him, if looks can kill this would be it.

"Want a bet! I ran away when i was seven! From a family that hated my guts and a dad that did't want me! In the process as i grew up i lost my best friend who was like my sister! I almost lost her again less than a week ago! I lost the guy i liked last year because he was possesed by Kronos," Reece winced. "I've been to the underworld ony to find out it was a pointless mission! I've gone to the sea of monsters where i almost died because of a freaking giant! I got torured from holding up the sky," He stared wide eyed at her. I just smiled at his reaction. "I've faced the Labrynth and almost died again! I fought in the Titan war where i lost amost everyone i grew up with! I thought i lost my boyfriend when he dissapeared! I thought i wasn't gonna see him again! I went on a quest to defeat Gia! I went to Tartarus and just made it out alive! Then less than three days ago I escaped from being tortured by rogue demigods! SO DON'T TELL ME I DON'T UNDERSTAND!" Annabeth was breathing heavily.

"Shh calm down," I brushed hair away from her eyes and hugged her. I turned back to Reece he just sat there his face stony. I glared at him.

"You happy! So you see we're desperate! This is our home! Together me and Annabeth have been through alot more the way she put it was only half of the pain we've gone through! I know children of Hades are meant to be cold, but I know two children of Hades! One is like my little brother, we became close when his sister died and he is nothing like this! Hades is selfish, yes, but he has friends that love him and he'll do anything for them! The other one is a Daughter of Pluto, his roman form, she got cursed and her life was hell! But she always puts her friends before herself!" I took a breath and et that sink into Reece's mind. "So you see you don't need to be cold and distant! We care for all of you! And living like this is dangerous not with out a border to protect you, Just think about what we've said we'll be back later for your final decision."

I took Annabeth by the arm and led her out. We are going to come back later. We all just need some cool off time.

Reece POV

My anger got the better of me and i trashed the place. I let out a angered scream and sat down on my bed, head in my hands. I tried to calm down but i couldn't. They angered me allot. Their pain is nothing compared to what i've gone through! I'll admit its not nice thats Annabeth have been tortured countless of times but if she heard me out she would feel bad for yelling at me. I was about to  get up and tip over the table but i heard a voice.

"Reece?" I turned and my day got better. My girlfriend Lacey Wilkins came into the tent. Lacey was a child of Apollo. She had honey coloured eyes that reflected the sun, tanned face, and dark blonde hair. We've known eachother for ten years and we were inseperable. She knew everything about my life and was always there for me.

"Lacey," She ran up to me and gave me a hug, I hugged her back, not wanting to let go.

"Reece whats wrong?" She pulled away and touched my cheek. Her thumb rubbing the underneath of my left eye. This was her way of comforting me. I kissed her hand and closed my eyes fighting back tears. "Aw Reece..." She whispered and wiped a tear away. when i was with her i never hide my emotions.

"I'm just so confused Lace," I whispered.

"tell me about it," We sat down on my bed. She held my hand and stroked the back of my neck playing with the curls.I let out a heavy sigh and began.

"They want us to join their camp," I looked at her and her eyes lit up.

"Thats great! Isn' it?" She looked at me with concern when i didn't share her excitement.

"Yeah it is, i'm all up for going, just to keep everyone safe but......" I paused thinking what to say.

"but what?"

"If we join then they want us to fight with them." Lacey yelped and stood up. She turned back to me her eyes blazing.

"We aren't even properly trained! Did you tell them that?" I nodded. "Then why still offer! We'll get ourselfs killed!" She threw her arms up and gave a frustrated sigh.

"They also offered to train us, as good as that sounds but i haven't fully grasped who we'll be fighting. I know they said something about rogue demigods but thats it. Besides rogues are ruthless, and i'm not prepared to let us, especially you fight them! After what happened last time i don't want it happening again, i don't want to loose you." I took her hands and kissed the back of them.

"You know sometimes i forget that your a child of Hades," She laughed.

"Oh yeah and i have a Brother and sister!" Lacey stared at me suprised. "I know! Thats also why i want to go, i don't care if they are younger or older than me i just want to see my own flesh and blood."

"Its up to you Shadow, i'll follow to the ends of the Earth if i have to." I pulled her into a hug.

"Your the best Sunshine, have i ever told you that?" She nodded and i kissed her. Just kissing her makes me feel safe and strong. I pulled away and smiled. "Looks like i've made my decision, lets go find them."

Percy POV

We sat outside a cafe going over todays events and checkig things off my list:

Find rogues [X]

Rescue Annabeth [X] Even though it wasn't me who did it

Start a quest [X]

Spend night in creepy forest [X]

Find more demigods [X]

Persuade demigods [  ] 

I looked over at Annabeth. She was playing with the straw from her drink. Since the encounter with Reece she's been awefully quiet. I sighed, sat back in my chair and ran a hand through my messy hair. I looked back at her and it pained me seeing her like this.

"Annabeth you ok?" She nodded. right then a tear feel down her cheek. My face slacked allot and i pulled my chair over to hers. "Your so stubborn you know that?" She nodded, yes. I gave a soft laugh and pulled her into a hug.

"I'm sorry if we lost our chance Percy," She mumbled into my shirt.

"Oh well you can't help it, i would've done the exact same thing if he questioned my like that," I kissed her forehead. "Its going to be ok, theres more demigods out there." I looked up and almost feel off my chair. Walking towards us was Reece and he was with a girl with dark blonde hair. I tapped Annabeth and she looked up. I saw her jaw clench, i got ready to jump inbetween them if she lunged for. him. We stood up and greeted them half way.

They go close and we just stared a eachother not saying a word. Finally Annabeth broke the silence.

"So what's you decision?" Reece looked at the blonde girl. I saw him grab her hand then he looked back at us.

"We're in, on one condition!" Me and Annabeth looked at eachother confused.

"Sure thing, you name it." He looked warily at Reece for a second. Finally Reece took a deep breath and started talking.

"If we go with you, you have to promise that i can meet my brother and sister!"

"yeah sure thing, anything else?"

"If you need help finding demigods us two are willing to help." He pointed to the blonde and she nodded.

"Ok, Whats your name?" I asked the small blonde.

"I'm Lacey Wilkins, Daughter of Apollo, nice to meet you?" We shook hands.

"I'm Percy Jackson and this is Annabeth Chase," Those two shook hands.

"I know Percy's godly parent is Poseidon, whats yours may i ask?"

"Athena, goddess of wisdom." Lacey's eyes brightened up.

"We'll go back and inform everyone whats going on, you guys can come if you want?" Me and Annabeth nodded and slung our packs over our shoulders. When they were a safe disance away Annabeth leaned in and whispered:

"TThis is gonna be fun." I nodded. this is gonna be fun indeed!
