Chapter 4

Percy

"AHHHH!" I bolted up right, Riptide in hand, i know i was stressed about having Riptide with me at night but never this stressed. I set it down and tried to controll the beating of my heart. That nightmare has to be the worst one i've ever had. It showed my worst fears. Loosing Camp and loosing Annabeth. It seemed so real. I ran a shaky hand over my face and felt tears. I thought the nightmares would've stopped now that we've defeated Gia. Apparently not. i got up and got dressed. It was early very early. I made my way to the hospital wing to look for Annabeth.just thinking of her makes me happy and giddy inside. I know she's the one for me. There is none else i would rather be with than her.

I got to the hospital wing and stopped. Annabeth and Jason were hugging. Not just a friendly hug, its a hug she normally gives me when she see's me! They parted and she gave him the look. The look that she gives me, her eyes go shiny and large and basically says "I Love You". This can't be happening! Annabeth wouldn't! would she?

I didn't stick around for long to find out. I'm too confused and angry. She loves me, i think? I've never said it to her but she must know i love her? I should go back. I turned and fell.

"Watch it!" I picked myself up and glared at the person that ran me over.

"I'm so sorry! Did i hurt you?"

"Annabeth?"

"Percy? What you doing out here?"

"Umm.... I had a nightmare woke up and thought i'll come and see you!" I added in a happy tone.

"Ok!" She squealed very high. "Percy she's gonna be ok! Thalia won't die!" She tackled me with a hug.

"Thats amazing!" I hugged her back. I took in her scent. She hair smelt like lemons. It was comforting. At this moment in time i didn't wanna let her go, i just wanted to stay in this moment forever.

"Hey, you ok?" She pulled away, looking at me in concern. I was about to answer when Jason came running up.

"Annabeth come on! I thought we were going to tell every one!" Right then he noticed me there, and his face slacked. What have i done?

"Yeah hold on a minute. Percy? Is everything ok?"

"yeah it is!" I forced myself to smile. "Go on go tell every one the great news!" She seemed to hesitate.

"Come on Annabeth!" Jason grabbed her by the hand and pulled her away, jogging.

"We'll talk later Perce! About your nightmare!" I nodded and looked away. I just felt like my heart got ripped out and stomped on.

It was midday and still no sign of Annabeth.I started to get worried but then i thought different. She's with Jason, he wont let her get hurt. I sat back down under a tree and watched people scurry by on their duties. Chiron didn't want me on anything because he has a special quest for me any day soon. We're just waiting for the right moment. I heard noise behind me and found Nico, standing there watching me.

"Hey Nico!" I waved him over.

"Hey Percy," He shuffeled on his feet not coming near me.

"Dude whats up?" I walked towards him and looked him in the eyes. He looked down and started mumbling.

"Chiron wants to see you, its urgent." He looked up and he was crying! Nico D'Angelo, son of Hades, crying! he hasn't cried since Bianca died. It made my heart clench. I started walking to Chiron. Along the way people gave me looks as if i'm dying. I finally got to Chiron and found several people with him. None of them made eye contact.

"Hey Chiron, Nico said you wanted to see me?"

"Percy... sit down." His eyes and voice were emotionless. Chiron also looks like he's aged a hundred years i the past few secods.

"Ooookayyy.......... Chiron whats wrong?"

"Percy... what i'm about to say you have to promise NOT to do anything rash in risk of ruining everything?" I nodded, signalling him to carry on. "You know the rouges i told you about," nodded again. "They've left you a note." He prodused a normal A4 size piece of paper.

"What is it?" Chiron looked down. "just read Percy."

It read:

Alright Jackson!Congratulations on your little victory! We must say, very impressive! Anywya cutting to the chase, within your camp we have a spy. Some one that has followed your every movement, listened in on every conversation you've had. Especially the one with Chiron you had yesterday. Tusk, tusk. We thought you of all people would know better than trying to capture, or even find us! We're gonna make it easy for ya!Your gonna have a set of clues, each clue will take you a step forward to were we are. But, you have to figure it out, no help! Anyone helps we'll send you a piece of your gorgous girlfriend! -

I looked up at Chiron. They had Annabeth! They have the person i love most in the world! How did they get her!? Why didn't any one tell me! I carried on reading, to see if theres any more infromation.

Don't worry about how we got her, we were in the right place at the right time! Back to the game. You'll have twenty four hours for each question and to get to the destination. We have spies every Jackson! So don't pull the wool over our eyes and think we won't find out, we will. If you want your girlfriend back in one piece follow the instructions.You better hurry Perseus, times ticking away! First clue is on your bunk!

I screwed up the paper and chucked it. I was angry, frustrated and scared! If only i just stayed with Annabeth maybe they wouldn't of taken her? What if i don't figure out the clues and they kill her? I won't be able to live! At that moment my phone rang. Normally demigods wouldn't have phones as it attracts monsters but i only use it for Annabeth, my mom and close friends. I looked at the caller ID and done a double take. It was Annabeth!

"Annabeth?!" I was shaking and close to tears.

"Percy!"

"Annabeth where are you?!" My heart was racing a hundred miles an hour.

"I don't know!" She was crying. "Percy i'm so scared!" Hearing that made my heart break.

"Don't worry ok! I'm coming for you Annabeth! We've come this far together and i'm not about to let you go!" I was crying now. "Be strong Annabeth i won't be long wise girl!" What i said next suprised me. "I love you."

"I love you to Percy! Please hurry! Don't forget about me!"

"I won't! How can i, i love you to much to just let to you go! I'll catch whoever took you Annabeth and make them pay for taking you away from me!" Waterfalls were streaming down my face.

"Percy I-" She got cut off. I heard her yelp in the backround

"Annabeth?! ANNABETH!" Her voice was replaced by laughter.

"Aww how cute!" It was a male voice, british accent?

"I swear when i find out who you are you are gonna pay!" I could hear the venom in my own voice.

"Now, now Jackson! You wouldn't want your girlfriend to get hurt now would you?" I heard Annabeth scream in the backround. "When ever you figure out the problem you get to talk to your girlfriend for two minutes,if you don't... well you don't want to find out!" He hung up. I punched the wall and collapsed. putting my head in my hands i started to cry.When i mnaged to pull myself together i got up and stormed to my bunk. I'm not gonna let anything happen to Annabeth!
