Chapter 39: Happiness

The following morning the storm had subsided leaving only a cloudy sky and puddles.

I woke up to a sleeping, shirtless, Kakashi who now wore his mask.

"Damn you I didn't pay attention to your face." I whispered.

I stood up to make him some breakfast before I leave.

I noticed his cabinets had hardly anything in them.

Fortunately I found items to make him a simple breakfast consisting of eggs, toast, and strawberries.

Looking around, I found coffee beans and decided to prepare a coffee as well.

While the water for coffee boiled I cracked the eggs on the pan and watched it so it wouldn't burn as I occasionally flipped it.

Soon the apartment was filled with the smell of eggs and toast.

I heard the floor behind me creek which in return startled me.

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you", apologized Kakashi while rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.

"It's alright. Sit while I prepare your breakfast."

Instead of listening to me he approached me and wrapped his arms around me.

"Seems you like my shirt."

"It's the only other thing I can wear."

"You can always walk around naked."

At that statement I lightly punched his shoulder.

"Quit being a pervert and leave me alone before you make me ruin your breakfast."

I put a finger over his masked lips before something inappropriate escaped them.

He headed for the kitchen chair in defeat while still being half asleep.

After everything was prepared I placed it in front of him and headed to change.

"Where are you going? Am I going to eat alone?"

"I'm going to change."

"You can do that later. Come eat breakfast with me."

Feeling slightly hungry I prepared a coffee for myself and ate a few strawberries.

"How are you feeling?"

"Tired."

"Does it hurt?" He asked with genuine concern.

"Just a bit, but I'll be fine."

"If you want, you can sleep and I'll take care of anything you were supposed to do."

"I'm fine really, now eat your breakfast before it gets cold."

I intently waited to see his face since I was too distracted with other things last night to pay attention to it.

To not make it too obvious I pretended to be busy cooling my coffee.

After a few moments he finally pulled his mask down and I couldn't believe how gorgeous his face truly is.

His perfectly sculpted jaw and his cute little nose, his face is too gorgeous to describe.

No word can describe how gorgeous he is.

"Nanami, have you done any missions recently?"

"Yeah, the other day I had an Anbu mission with Yamato. Have you seen him recently? He matured a lot yet he still looks like the adorable little kid I remember him as."

"I've seen him on several occasions." He replied with a hint of anger.

"Ahh Kakashi don't tell me your jealous." I teased while walking over to him.

"There's nothing to worry about." I reassured while sitting on his lap and caressing his bare face.

"You're the only one I love."

His smile made my heart skip a beat as he pulled me in for a kiss.

"I love you, Nanami."

I kissed him once more and soon that kiss turned into a heated one as his breakfast was long forgotten while his hands roamed underneath the shirt I wore.

While his hands roamed every inch of my body he placed gentle kisses on my neck searching for a place to mark his territory.

Once he found it he tugged at the skin leaving a definite mark.

All the while, my hands tugged at his silver hair as I pushed myself closer to him.

Unfortunately for us the door interrupted, as always.

"I'll get it." I offered.

"No."

"Kakashi what if they see you? A face like that could make anyone fall in love and to top it off you're shirtless."

"It's fine I'm sure it's only Guy."

"Even so, I'll answer. Finish your breakfast."

I opened the door only enough to see who was on the other side. To my surprise it was Father.

"Morning Dad. What brings you here?" I asked while leaving the door in the same position.

"Just checking up on you. By the look of it you are perfectly fine. Anything happen last night?"

"No, why do you ask?"

"The neighbors reported hearing a series of screams late last night and I was worried something bad happened."

I felt my face turn a dark shade of red as I shakily replied.

"We-ll I-I'm f-fine."

"Just be a little more quiet next time. I'll leave you two alone." He replied with a hint of humor.

I immediately shut the door in embarrassment.

"Nanami are you alright?!" Kakashi asked while rushing to my side.

"That's so embarrassing."

"What is?"

"Father just came to check if I was alright since the neighbors reported hearing screams last night."

Kakashi's face turned red as well before he shook it off with laughter.

His laugh makes my heart melt.

I punched his shoulder before scolding him.

"This isn't a laughing matter", I scolded while walking toward the stairs leaving him a few feet away.

"Alright, alright let's go get dressed." He suggested.

"Why don't we do something else?" I asked while pulling my shirt over my head leaving me in my undergarments.

He smirked while walking toward me. "I like that idea better."

I threw the shirt at his face as I raced up the stairs.

He immediately chased after me as I screamed in fear of being caught.

Soon I was in his room leaving the bed in between both of us as the room filled with laughter while he threatened to pounce at me, causing me to occasionally yelp.

He began to circle the bed heading toward me as I prepared myself to do the impossible.

Fortunately for me it wasn't as impossible as I thought.

I successfully jumped over the bed and immediately stood on my feet, running for the door.

As I was ready to run back down the stairs I yelped once I felt an arm wrap around my stomach, pulling me back. "Got you." He said while hovering above me.

He began to tickle my bare stomach causing me to laugh uncontrollably.

He wore a smile that never left his lips as he pushed my hands above my head locking them with his own.

He stared into my eyes as I stared back into his.

"You make me happy."

"I love you, Kakashi."
