**********
Days had passed since the banishment. Other than her brother and Monty, Sophia made an effort not to talk to anyone at the camp. Especially not Connor. He was the first to jump at wanting to hang Murphy. And he was more than willing to throw Sophia out of camp for defending Murphy.
Life around the camp seemed to be going along as if Murphy was never there to begin with. The walls were built. There were patrols taking shifts at the front entrance. Everyone had their own jobs/tasks they were doing, meanwhile Sophia just stayed on the sidelines watching everyone.
"Be as mad as you want, Sophia. It had to be done. Murphy was a threat." Bellamy broke Sophia out of her thoughts.
"You keep telling yourself that, Bell. Whatever helps you sleep at night." Sophia muttered as she pushed herself off the side of the dropship. Her attention went to the night sky when she saw something falling.
"A shooting star?" Sophia questioned while everyone looked at the sky.
"No...wait. It's another dropship! It could have some of our people or maybe supplies!" Clarke chimed in.
"We investigate in the morning. In the meantime, everyone rest up." Bellamy ordered.
When the morning rolled around, Sophia was packing a bag with some water and rations as well as a tarp in case of acid fog.
"Where are you going?" Sophia quickly turned to find Jasper now in the dropship.
"I'm going to find Murphy."
"But he was banished, right?"
"I don't care. It wasn't his fault that Charlotte threw herself off that cliff. He wasn't going to actually hurt her. Plus, he's completely defenseless out there. We don't know how many grounders there are out there. He could get killed. I'm going to find him." Sophia persisted.
"Why do you care about him all of a sudden?" Jasper questioned curiously. "You two never got along...even back on the ARK. So why risk your life for him?"
Sophia thought about it for a moment. It was a good question. Why bother when they never got along before?
Sophia shook her head as she pulled her bag over her shoulder.
"Because he deserves a second chance. He deserves to prove that he's worthy of staying here." Sophia frowned as she left the dropship.
As Sophia got to a hole in the wall, she spotted Octavia slipping out as well.
"Where are you going?" Sophia questioned, making Octavia jump as she turned to look at Sophia.
"I could ask you the same thing."
"Well, I asked first."
"I wanted to spend some time away from the camp. Bellamy keeps trying to lock me up in the camp, but I want out." Octavia frowned before looking at Sophia. "What about you?"
"I'm going to find Murphy."
"But he-"
"Was banished, I know. He didn't deserve it...I just want to make sure he's okay." Sophia frowned.
"I won't tell my brother or Clarke about you looking for Murphy if you don't tell them about me leaving the walls."
"Deal." The two girls shook hands before each going off in a different direction.
Sophia made her way back to the cliff where she last saw Murphy. She looked around with a frown at the events of that night replayed in her mind.
Sophia looked at the cliff, frowning as the image of Charlotte jumping flashed into her mind. "May we meet again..." she mumbled. Her attention shifted when she heard a branch snap.
Sophia turned around, pulling her knife out of her pocket as she got ready for whatever was about to come out.
"Oh. Princess. It's you." Murphy stepped out, lowering his own knife that he had been holding. "What are you? Playing runaway?" He questioned, noting the backpack.
"I was looking for you, actually," Sophia said, shrugging the backpack off her shoulder.
"For me? I guess I should feel flattered then, huh?" He smirked slightly.
"Oh, don't overthink it." Sophia rolled her eyes as she tossed the bag at Murphy.
"The hell is this?" Murphy questioned opening the backpack to see the rations and tarp.
"You deserve a better chance at survival after the shit that happened the other day," Sophia muttered.
Murphy arched a brow curiously as he zipped up the bag, throwing it over his shoulder. "I hope you realize this doesn't make me like you or anything." He muttered.
"Don't worry. The feeling's more than mutual. I'm just not as much of a raging bitch as our arguments make it look."
Murphy stifled a laugh. "Please, I've seen rabid animals that are much more pleasant to be around than you."
"Aw, aren't you sweet? You know, I've met roaches that are much more appealing than you." Sophia said in a saccharine tone.
Murphy rolled his eyes slightly. "You think you're clever, don't you?" He questioned, stepping closer toward Sophia.
"You should be careful, though, princess...that mouth of yours will get you in trouble if you're not too careful." He pointed out.
Sophia shrugged her shoulders, brushing off Murphy's warning. "I'll be fine. If I were you, I'd be more concerned with yourself. You're on your own out here."
"Then stay here with me," Murphy suggested.
"I can't, I-"
"Have Jasper, I got it." Murphy sighed.
A silence fell over the two. Murphy awkwardly adjusted how he was holding the backpack Sophia gave him as he looked away.
"I should probably head back. Bellamy, Clarke and Finn will be back soon. I don't need them sending a search party out for me and them catch me giving you our rations."
"Right..."
"Humor me for a minute," Sophia said as she walked up to Murphy until she was about an inch away from him. Murphy sputtered, any words leaving him as he looked down at Sophia.
"Promise me you won't get yourself killed. Promise me you won't just keel over and die, that you'll actually put up a fight if it comes to it." Sophia held his gaze. Light blue eyes clashing with icy blue ones as Murphy stared at her.
"I...alright....I promise." Murphy mumbled.
Sophia smiled softly as she started to make her way back towards camp. She stopped for a minute to look over her shoulder, "Take care of yourself, John Murphy."
Murphy seemed surprised hearing Sophia use his full name. He let out a small laugh, shaking his head slightly.
"You too, Sophia Jordan...you too."
Sophia was surprised when she got back to camp and saw Raven Reyes there. She wasn't one of the delinquents. How did she get down? Was she in that drop ship they all watched fall to Earth last night?
"Raven? What are you doing here?" Sophia questioned, making her way over.
"Long story. We can worry about the details later. Right now, we need to launch these rocket flares to let them know on the ARK that it's safe to come down before they start the culling." Sophia's brows furrowed at Raven's words. The culling? Wait, did that mean they were about to do a mass killing on the ARK?
Sophia shook her head at the thought as she helped with aiming the rocket. What if they were too late? What if they can't send it fast enough?
Those thoughts left Sophia's mind as she moved away while they lit the rocket. Sophia watched as the rockets they lit took off into the air. Please see it. Please be in time. It has to work.
"How will we know if it worked?" Sophia questioned.
"We don't. We just have to hope that it did."

"Sophia, have you seen any sign of my sister?" Sophia looked over to see Bellamy striding towards her.
"She never came back?" Sophia frowned.
"No one has seen her since yesterday morning when we went looking for the dropship Raven was in." Sophia grew worried as her brows furrowed.
"She...she slipped out yesterday, but I thought she'd be fine..."
"She tried to leave camp, and you just let her?!" Bellamy snapped.
"I thought she'd be fine! She's not a prisoner, Bellamy." Sophia frowned.
"You're coming with us on the search party and so help me...if she's hurt or dead, you're taking a one-way trip to banishville like Murphy," Bellamy warned.
Murphy...right...maybe he saw Octavia. If Sophia could just slip away long enough to find Murphy again...
The search party was ready. Everyone grabbed weapons and bags with supplies as they headed out. Sophia stayed towards the end of the group as she glanced around the woods. She couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching them from within the trees.
Sophia slowed down further before quickly and quietly slipping away, making her way back towards the cliff.
"Murphy?" Sophia called out as she looked around. "Murphy!" She shouted again, her voice a bit louder. She spotted the bag she gave Murphy.
Looking around again, she slowly approached the bag. "Murphy, come on. I know you're there. Murph-" She stopped midsentence as she saw blood staining the bag, followed by a trail of blood and tracks from someone, no doubt Murphy, being dragged away.
"Shit-" Sophia was ready to follow the trail when Bellamy's voice rang out calling for her.
"Please...please be careful, Murphy..." Sophia frowned as she ran back to where the others were.
When Sophia got back, she saw the group had an injured Octavia with them now.
"You found her!" Sophia smiled as she hugged Octavia.
"No thanks to you. Where the hell did you run off to?" Bellamy questioned.
"I- uh...I thought it would be better to split up. You know? Cover more ground and all." Sophia shifted.
"By yourself? The grounders could have gotten you." Bellamy pointed out.
Sophia frowned before noting the unconscious grounder being dragged. "Is that one of them?! Bellamy- what the hell are you thinking?"
"We're going to make him talk. Going to get as much information about his kind as we can get. Your brother's got one hell of a punch. Knocked the poor bastard out after attacking us." Sophia seemed surprised as she looked at Jasper.
"Seriously? You, baby brother? You knocked a grounder out?" She questioned her younger twin.
"Y..yeah...he was going to kill us if I didn't try something." Jasper shrugged sheepishly as they headed back to camp, dragging the grounder along with them.
**********
The next series of days were eventful, from Bellamy and Clark torturing the grounder they learned was named Lincoln, to almost everyone at the camp getting high on jobi nuts.
But now? Now it was Unity Day. Clarke had gone to try and strike a deal with the grounders thanks to Octavia and Lincoln. Bellamy, Raven and Jasper had gone despite there being an agreement for no weapons and that it would just be the two meeting with Octavia and Lincoln being there too.
Sophia? Well, she stayed behind at camp. She was looking over the map they had, trying to figure out where Murphy was.
"What are you doing?" Monty questioned.
"It's a secret. If I tell you, I just know you won't be able to keep it to yourself." Sophia joked with Monty.
Monty tilted his head slightly as he looked at the map, noting the little notes Sophia wrote.
"You've been talking to Murphy?"
"I was...yes...but he went missing...I think the grounders took him, and I'm trying to figure out where he was taken." Sophia frowned.
She quickly put the map away as Clarke, Bellamy, Raven, Octavia, and Jasper came back. Clarke and Octavia were scolding Jasper, making Sophia get up and rush over.
"Clarke, what the hell is going on?" She questioned.
"Your brother is what's going on. He screwed everything up with the grounders. Any deal with them is fucked." Octavia frowned.
"They were going to attack us anyway. I was saving us." Jasper frowned.
Sophia opened her mouth to speak when a sonic boom attracted their attention. It was the Exodus ship. A day early? And why was the ship traveling so fast with no parachute?
Sophia's eyes widened as the ship crashed, blowing up. A choked sob from Clarke was heard next to Sophia.
Right...Abby Griffin was supposed to be on there. Clarke's mom was gone.
"Clarke..." Sophia frowned, resting a hand on the blonde's shoulder as she fell to her knees.
Happy Unity Day...
