Book 2: Chapter 12

23:49, 25 June 2015

Sorry for the long wait, but I'm running out of pre-written chapters, and have been on a writers block for a while. But I've been working on an Avengers Fanfiction, which is called The Change in Destiny, so if you want to read it, then go ahead. Also I finally graduated High School, so I do have more time, but again I'm in a writers block on what i want to happen exactly. Anyway enjoy and don't forget to comment with some ideas that may help, as well as vote please!

The telephone rings.

"The kid?" Canton asks as Nixon stands up.

"Should I answer it?" Nixon asks as I was showing the Doctor where the phone call was coming from.

"Here!" I say pointing it out on the map and the Doctor grins kissing my head.

"The only place in the United States that call could be coming from. See? Obvious, when you think about it." the Doctor says happily as Amy and the Social Services guy come back.

"You, two, are a geniuses" Canton says to us and I grin happily.

"It's a hobby." the Doctor says.

"Mister President, answer the phone." Canton says and Nixon grabs the phone and turns on the recording tapes.

"Hello. This is President Nixon." Nixon says answering the phone.

'It's here! The spaceman's here! It's going to get me! It's going to eat me!'

"There's no time for a SWAT team. Let's go. Mister President, tell her help's on the way." the Doctor says grabbing his coat and putting it on grabbing my hand.

"Canton, on no account follow us into this box and close the door behind you." I say knowing he would do the opposite and grinned pulling the Doctor as Canton chases after us.

"What the hell are you doing?" Canton yells as he follows us.

"Jefferson isn't a girl's name. It's not her name either. Jefferson, Adams, Hamilton. River." the Doctor says spinning around the console flipping switches to set them to where we needed to go.

"Surnames of three of America's founding fathers." River says.

"Lovely fellows. Two of them fancied me. The other fancied her" the Doctor says glancing at me.

"Don't spoil it for me, haven't done that yet!" I yell over to him as I stood by Rory who looked

"Are you okay? Coping?" Rory asks Canton as he looks around bewildered his mouth opening like a goldfish.

"You see, the President asked the child two questions. Where are you and who are you? She was answering where." the Doctor says explaining what the child was asking for.

"It's bigger on the inside." Canton says and I laugh at his expression and walk up to the console.

"Yeah, you get used to it." Rory says shrugging like it was nothing.

"Now, where would you find three big, historical names in a row like that?" the Doctor asks.

"Where?" Amy asks and the Doctor grins at her before flipping the final switch.

"Here. Come on." the Doctor says rushing over to the door only to be stopped by Canton.

"It's er..." Canton says but stops trying to find the right words.

"Are you taking care of this?" the Doctor asks as he pulls me along with him River following us.

"Why is it always my turn?" Rory asks us while we step out.

"Because you're the newest" Amy says to him following us.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

A dingy, cluttered place and I was leaning against the table while the Doctor waved a little American flag around.

"Where are we?" Amy asks.

"About five miles from Cape Kennedy Space Centre. It's 1969, the year of the moon. Interesting, don't you think?" the Doctor asks her.

"But why would a little girl be here?" Amy asks as if it were obvious that a little girl wasn't here.

"I don't know. Lost me a bit. The President asked the girl where she was, and she did what any lost little girl would do. She looked out of the window." the Doctor says and the street sign points to Hamilton Av, Jefferson St and Adams St.

"Streets. Of course, street names." Amy says thinking that it was now obvious that she was talking about the street names.

"The only place in Florida, probably all of America, with those three street names on the same junction. And Doctor Song, you've got that face on again." the Doctor says as I walk over to the Doctor as he leans against the wall.

"What face?" River says feigning she knew what he was talking about.

"The he's hot when he's clever face." the Doctor says and I whack him as her yelps rubbing his arm where I whacked him.

"This is my normal face." River points out.

"Yes, it is." the Doctor says grinning and I wink at River.

"Oh, shut up." River says walking away from us.

"Not a chance."

"Never would even if I could" I say walking after her as the Doctor checks the phone.

Rory finally gets Canton out of the Tardis "We've moved. How, how can we have moved?" Canton asks as soon as he realizes we had moved.

"You haven't even got to space travel yet?" the Doctor says rather disappointed that he was so bewildered.

"I was going to cover it with time travel." Rory says shaking his head.

"Time travel." Canton says with disbelief.

"Brave heart, Canton. Come on. Harmony at my side" the Doctor yells out and I sigh walking over to him.

"It's a warehouse of some kind. Disused." River points out and something moves making me shriek and jump closer to the Doctor only to realize it was a rat.

"Ha-ha just, just a rat, you know nothing terrifying down here" I say half-heartedly.

"You realize this is almost certainly a trap, of course?" the Doctor points out and I shrug at him.

"I noticed the phone, yes." River says knowing this because she knows what was going to happen and I reach for her hand to squeeze it gently.

"What about it?" Amy asks confused on what was wrong with the phone.

"It was cut off. So how did the child phone from here?" River asks and I just think back to the empty child.

"Are you my mummy?" I say suddenly making the Doctor choke on a laugh as he remembers that the Tardis phone then wasn't to be used as a phone at all.

"Okay, but why would anyone want to trap us?" Amy says ignoring my comment about the empty child and not understanding it.

"Let's see if anyone tries to kill us and work backwards." the Doctor says and I grip his hand tightly knowing we were passing the little girl in the space suit and that she was watching us from the shadows.

"Now, why would a little girl be here?" River asks as we scan around with the flashlights.

"I don't know. Let's find her and ask her." the Doctor suggests.

We come across some technology that was really not human stuff "It's nonterrestrial. Definitely alien. Probably not even from this time zone." River points out.

"Which is odd, because look at this!" the Doctor says as there was a crate of spacesuit and he picks up a helmet.

"It's earth tech. It's contemporary." River points out.

"It's very contemporary. Cutting edge. This is from the space program." the Doctor points out holding up the space helmet to us.

"Stolen?" River asks confused on how or why it would be stolen.

"What, by aliens?" Amy asks.

"Apparently." the Doctor says and goes to try on the spacesuit helmet.

"But why? I mean, if you can make it all the way to Earth, why steal technology that can barely make it to the moon?" Amy points out.

"Maybe because it's cooler?" the Doctor says before lifting the helmet top. "Look how cool this stuff is." he says like a little kid and I shake my head at his childishness.

"Cool aliens?" Amy asks with disbelief.

"Well, what would you call me?" the Doctor asks her and I just laugh at her answer.

"An alien." Amy says bluntly.

"Oi!" the Doctor says hurt by her not calling him cool.

"I, er, I think he's okay now." Rory says gesturing to Canton.

"Ah! Back with us, Canton." the Doctor says happily.

"I like your wheels." Canton says as he inspects the place.

"That's my boy. So, come on. Little girl. Let's find her." the Doctor says and we go to explore only to hear River yell out our names a few minutes later.

"Doctor? Harmony? Look at this." River calls out and we walk over to see River moving over a manhole that was covering a place I really don't want to go down to.

"So where does that go?" the Doctor asks her as she scans it with her machine.

"There's a network of tunnels running under here." River says reading what the results were on her machine.

"Life signs?" I ask trying to see if she had more information.

"No, nothing that's showing up." River says.

"Those are the worst kinds." the Doctor mutters as River prepares to go down. "Be careful." HE TELLS HER.

"Careful? I tried that once. Ever so dull." River says shaking her head.

"Well just don't get hurt, I want you back in one piece River" I say to her and she rolls her eyes at me but nods.

"Shout if you get in trouble." the Doctor yells to her.

"Don't worry, I'm quite the screamer. Now there's a spoiler for you." River says grinning as she goes down.

"RIVER!" I yell down to her as I hear her laughter.

"Tell me what's going on here." Canton asks or well more like demands but in a subtle way.

"Er, nothing. She's just a friend, I have a wife and am happily in love with her" the Doctor says bringing me closer to him at which I roll my eyes at it.

"I think he's talking about the possible alien incursion." Rory says to the Doctor who flushes and pats Rory on the shoulder.

"Okay." the Doctor says and walks off tagging me along with him still flushed by River's comment.

A few minutes later and I knew River had seen the Silence because she had come up quickly but just as she was about to say about them she forgot. "All clear. Just tunnels. Nothing down there I can see. Er, give me five minutes. I want to take another look around." River says.

"Stupidly dangerous!" the Doctor yells out to her.

"Yeah, I like it too. Amy, Harmony, look after him." River says to us.

"Only if he behaves!" I yell to her as she goes back down.

"Rory, would you mind going with her?" the Doctor asks him.

"Yeah, a bit." Rory says as he would mind but the Doctor takes it the wrong way and he pats Rory on the back.

"Then I'd appreciate it all the more." the Doctor says and as he walks off I follow the Doctor.

"Hang on, River. I'm coming too." Rory says going down to join Rory.

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~

"So, you were kicked out of the FBI because you had attitude problems?" Amy asks as I was standing next to her.

"No, I just wanted to get married." Canton says to her.

"Is that a crime?" Amy asks raising her eyebrow.

"Yes. Doctor who, exactly?" Canton asks pointing to the Doctor who had stuck his head in one of the crates.

"Ah. That's classified." Amy says with a knowing smirk on her face.

"Classified by who?" Canton asks.

"God knows." Amy says her eyebrows furrowing because she didn't know, even I didn't know and wouldn't find out until later.

"Do you work for him and her?" Canton asks pointing at the Doctor and I.

"They're my friends, if friends is the right word. I haven't seen them in a while. I had something I wanted to tell him, but stuff always gets in the way, plus she probably already knows" Amy says and I roll my eyes shoving her slightly.

"Course I know what it is, believe me it's more exciting for me than anything to want to blurt it out, but I can't" I say to her knowing that that little baby was going to one day be River Song, and wanted to tell her so badly but couldn't.

"Stuff does that." Canton says sympathetically

'Help me! Help! Help me!'

"That's her" Canton says pulling out his little gun and Amy suddenly doubles over and the Doctor rushes to her side as I try and help her up, but knowing that little girl was her little girl but it wasn't supposed to me more than one of them there.

"Amy?" The Doctor asks confused.

'Help me! Please!'

"What's wrong?" the Doctor asks her wondering why she had doubled over.

"I need to tell you something. It's important." Amy says trying to tell the Doctor.

"Doctor! Harmony!" Canton yells from a little ways away.

"It's really, really important." Amy tries again to tell him.

"Doctor, Harmony, quickly!" Canton yells out trying to get out attention.

"What, now?" the Doctor yells grabbing Amy and helping her and me as we run through the warehouse to find Canton on the floor.

"Canton! Canton, are you okay?" the Doctor says but gets no response.

"Is he all right?" Amy asks shining her light on him.

"Just unconscious. Got a proper whack." the Doctor says inspecting Canton's head to make sure he was alright.

"Doctor, I need to tell you something. I have to tell you it now." Amy says distressed looking at me for help to get him to listen.

"Not a great moment." the Doctor says brushing it off.

"No, it's important. It has to be now." Amy says defiantly wanting to tell him no matter what.

'Help! Help me! Help me!'

"Doctor, I'm pregnant." Amy says and he has no reaction only for us to hear heavy footsteps behind us causing us to slowly stand up. "That's it. The astronaut."

The astronaut points at the Doctor. Amy reaches for Canton's gun. The astronaut raises its visor - it is the little girl.

"Help me!" the little girl shouts out.

"Get down!" Amy yells as she grabs the gun before I could reach it to stop her.

"What are you doing?" the Doctor yells out.

"Saving both of your lives!" Amy yells out as she goes to shoot the astronaut.

"No!" the Doctor and I yell but we were too late as Amy shoots at the astronaut, and screams.
