This is it.

The war has begun.

Lord Sopespian turned to his army, claiming treachery on the part of the Narnians. Peter hurriedly turned to the Narnians.

'Be ready!' He exclaimed, as everyone got into a ready stance.

'Peter!' Caspian yelled, as he pointed to something behind him.

Peter and Raina quickly whirled around to see a telmarine soldier rush forward, sword drawn. Raina didn't hesitate to unsheathe her sword and rush forward. She ducked the soldier's blow and slashed his chest, and he went down. Peter nodded to her as she sheathed her sword. Peter quickly turned to Caspian.

'Go!' He yelled, as Caspian ran to his horse, and climbed on. Peter and Edmund, as Kings of Narnia, rushed forward to lead their army, along with Raina. As the Narnian Protector it was her duty to stand on the front lines. They watched as Lord Sopespian and General Glozelle climbed upon their horses and rode towards their army.

'To arms, Telmar! To arms!' General Glozelle exclaimed, as the army let out battle cries. Catapults were loaded, and large rocks hurtled towards the Narnian army.

'No!' Raina exclaimed, as her eyes flashed she jumped up, high into the air, her palms glowing with blue light. She used her power to direct the rocks away from the Narnians, making them fall some feet away. In the meantime, the Telmarine Cavalry charged forward at General Glozelle's order.

Raina knew she had to be resourceful, and using too much power could tire her out. She came back down to the ground. The rocks kept coming.

Raina's body began to glow as she summoned a large shield in front of her, keeping the Narnians out of the line of fire. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead. She felt a hand tap her shoulder.

'Raina, you're going to get tired...' Edmund whispered, worriedly. Raina was undoubtedly the strongest of the Narnians, but there's a limit to all of it. Raina looked at him, and back at the Narnians.

In the meantime, Caspian and Glenstorm rode back into Aslan's How to carry out Peter's plan. If it is successful, they could actually stand a shot. Peter began counting. The Telmarines got closer and closer. Raina got an idea.

'I'm fine. Just a few more minutes..' Raina spoke through gritted teeth. Edmund looked at her, imploringly.

'Raina please, don't-' But Raina cut him off.

'I know what I'm doing.'

Raina walked a few steps away from Edmund, who huffed and went back to Peter's side, his sword drawn. Raina dropped the shield, and used her power to lift all the rocks high into the air.

Suddenly the ground below the Telmarine Cavalry gave way, and all of them hurtled into the ground. They were largely uninjured, and that's when Raina carried out her plan.

She crumbled the rocks in the air, and dropped them on the Cavalry. It forced them to stay put, just as a hail of arrows were fired upon them.

Raina quickly rushed back to where her horse, Alexa was standing and swiftly climbed on. Reepicheep joined her.

'You ready, Reep?' She asked, hurriedly.

'At your service, Raina.' He responded.

'Charge!' Peter yelled as the Narnians rushed forward.

Raina slapped the reins and galloped towards the pit of Telmarine soldiers. She decided to save her powers for the time being, and rely on her sword fighting skills. Reepicheep got off, and ran at the Telmarines, taking down many.

Raina was soon joined by Edmund on her right, who galloped forward on his own horse. The two nodded to each other as they split off. Raina unsheathed both her swords and began hacking through the Telmarine ranks. Three soldiers rushed at her, who she took down with ease. Her instincts guided her as she gracefully took down soldier upon soldier.

At the corner of her eye, she found Edmund riding along the edge of the pit, using his crossbow, while a tiger covered for him in the front. In that split second, a soldier swung his sword at her head, and she bent backwards to avoid it. In the process, she fell off her horse, hitting her head on a rock.

'Ugh, you're going to pay for that.' She growled. The soldier brought his sword down at her, as she rolled away. She swiped his legs from under him and stabbed him in the chest. She quickly jumped to her feet and turned around to find Edmund, gawking at her.

'Ed, what's up?' She asked, panting.

'I-I thought you were in trouble so I..' He trailed off and shrugged. Raina was about to respond, when she found a soldier running at Edmund.

'Ed, DUCK!' She yelled, as she quickly threw a dagger into the soldier's chest, and he went down.

'Thanks.' He said, his eyes wide.

'Anytime.'

It was a lost cause for the Narnians. All their forces were fighting just the Telmarine Cavalry, and were losing. Raina grew angry, frustrated and worried.

'Ed, I don't know if this is-' She cut herself off, as a soldier fired an arrow at her, which she caught in her hand, and threw back at him, embedding itself in his chest. 'Going to work.' She continued. Edmund looked around, his face contorted in worry.

A wave of soldiers came at both of them. Edmund and Raina stood back to back, taking down soldiers one after the other.

'This is a suicide mission. Any last words, Ed?' Raina asked, while fighting two soldiers. Edmund looked at her with wide eyes, his heart pumping. He took down the soldiers he was fighting and so did Raina. They faced each other, breathing heavily.

'Actually yeah. I have something I want to tell you.' He said. Raina nodded as she kept an eye out for soldiers rushing at them.

'The thing is..' Edmund began, and started fiddling with his hands. Raina grew impatient.

'Ed, we're literally about to die. Spit it out!!' She yelled, as she noticed another wave of soldiers coming at them.

'It's-well, I- the thing is-' Edmund kept stuttering, as the soldiers rushed at Raina who had walked a little forward to meet them. Just as she fought them off, she yelled at Edmund.

'Oh for fuck's sake, Ed, just tell me you like me cause I like you too!'

As the soldiers went down, Raina stilled, her eyes wide, her heart racing. She dared not look at Edmund.

'Wh-What?'

Raina slowly turned to him.

'Is there any chance you didn't hear that?' She asked, wincing.

Edmund walked towards Raina, and for a moment, the war, the fighting, the stakes seemed so far away.

'I'm afraid not.' Edmund said, as he smiled. 'Also how the hell do you know?' He asked, flabbergasted. Raina looked down, coyly.

'Well, maybe I wasn't completely honest when I said I could only read your emotions that night..' Raina admitted, as Edmund shook his head.

'I wanted to tell you the day we were evacuated. Didn't work. Maybe this time it will.' He said, softly. Raina's heart fluttered at his words.

He leaned in, as Raina met him halfway. Both their eyes fluttered shut as they kissed. It was ever so brief, but it was perfect. Raina's heart beat faster than it ever had before. Warmth spread throughout her chest, and for the first time in a long time, she felt happy. When she opened her eyes, Edmund smirked at her.

'I'm a great kisser, aren't I?' He challenged.

Raina was about to respond, when she felt something course through her. Her necklace began to glow. It was similar to what she felt when she used her power for the first time, but it was warmer, more comforting, almost life-giving. She looked down and found her palms glowing. A golden light surrounded her palms.

'What's happening?!' Edmund asked, worriedly.

Raina knew. It was her time to shine.

She quickly kissed him again, rendering him speechless.

'See you in a minute.' She winked at him.

Raina ran forward and jumped into the air. Her right leg was bent, and her palms stretched to her sides. A golden aura surrounded her. The telmarines aimed their crossbows at her, when she pressed her palms together and jerked them to her sides, creating a shockwave that knocked the Telmarines off their feet, and forcing the rest backwards. Her whole body began to glow.

'Narnians, rise.' Her voice boomed, as tendrils of golden power made its way to the fighting Narnians healing their injuries, and even bringing the Narnians who were killed, back to life. Edmund felt her power too, as his cuts and bruises were healed, the same for Peter, Caspian and Susan, who joined him, gawking at Raina. She looked powerful, she was powerful.

To Edmund, she was a goddess.

Suddenly, the trees came to life, their roots rushing forward to help the Narnians. The tide of the battle was effectively turning in favour of the Narnians.

Raina came back down to the ground, her palms still glowing. She stood in the middle, Peter and Edmund on her right, Susan and Caspian on her left. They nodded to her, their eyes still wide. She slowly walked forward. She unsheathed her sword, and held it high above her head, pointed at the Telmarines, who were shaking with fear. Her left hand was stretched forward, glowing with the golden light. Her eyes flashed golden, as a sudden wind ripped through, her cape flying against the wind. A beam of light rushed out of Raina's outstretched palm towards the Telmarines, blinding them.

'FOR ASLAN!' She yelled as she charged forward, unsheathing her second sword, Peter, Edmund, Susan and Caspian hot on her heels, and the rest of the Narnian forces followed.

They tore through the Telmarine ranks like a hot knife on butter. Raina and Edmund became a power duo. They fought back to back, swinging, stabbing, and even beheading.

Raina noticed a soldier trying to attack Caspian from behind. She threw her swords high into the air, and pulled out one of her daggers, throwing it with perfect precision into the soldier's eye. She caught her swords back in her hand as Caspian turned around, and again, his eyes widened.

'Damn, you're good.' He said, as Raina smiled.

'You're not so bad yourself.' Raina commented as she got back to fighting.

Almost 10 soldiers collectively rushed at Raina. One would expect her to use her powers for it, but she didn't, she used her swords. She was lightning fast, slicing, stabbing, swinging, blocking, and lunging. Within a minute, all 10 soldiers fell at her feet, either dead or badly wounded. Internally, Raina was screaming because of the fact she had killed so many people, but she couldn't dwell on it.

The Telmarines began to retreat, as it became evident that loss was on the horizon for them. Raina was about to give chase, when she suddenly felt lightheaded again. Her head was spinning, and she came to a stop. Edmund quickly rushed to her, steadying her.

'Go. I'll join you.' She urged, as Edmund looked unsure. She gave him a small push forward. He threw a worried glance her way before charging towards the Telmarines. They made their way through the forest, towards the river. Raina hung back, breathing heavily, almost wheezing.

She could see the river, where both forces had gathered. Her vision began to blur, swimming in and out of focus. She collapsed against a tree, her head pounding. She tried to center herself, taking deep breaths, before she tried to stand up,her exhaustion kicking in. As she opened her eyes, about 4 Telmarines began making their way to her. She groaned, as she unsheathed her swords.

She was slower than before, but her technique and skill easily helped her take down the soldiers, who went down with cries of pain. Two went down with cuts to their knees and a stab in the armpit, while the other two were stabbed straight in the chest. As they fell to the ground, Raina clutched her head, spots in her vision. She was barely able to register the fact that Glozelle was making his way to her, a long sharp sword in his hand.

Just as she registered what was happening, Glozelle swung the sword at her head, as she barely ducked out of the way. She noticed the sword was darker in colour, something shimmering at its end. She met his gaze and sighed.

'You're running out of ways to kill me, General. You should try something new. Poison is old news.' She taunted, as she unsheathed both her swords.

'It's an oldie, but a goodie.' Glozelle replied as he stabbed forward, Raina blocking with her swords. She swung it out of the way, as she pointed her swords at Glozelle's throat. He was shaking in fear.

'I'll show you what this feels like-' She taunted when she suddenly got a pounding headache, as her eyes squeezed shut. She dropped her swords, and swayed on her feet. Just as she recovered, she barely registered Glozelle rushing forward, with his sword.

He stabbed the sword into her chest, all the way up to the hilt, as it came out of her back. She numbly looked down as the sword impaled her, and back at Glozelle.

'This poison's ancient. It can kill anyone, even you.' He smiled.

Raina angrily wrenched the sword out of her chest, screaming in pain while doing so. She quickly summoned her power to root Glozelle in place, as she too stabbed him. Blood came out of his mouth, as he looked at her, shocked.

'Now-now you know..' She huffed. 'How..it feels.'
