At an icy mountain top, completely abandoned, stood Ranin, her palms glowing with power, as she frantically searches for her.
'Where are you?! Show yourself!' Ranin shouted. She felt a presence behind her as she ducked, a sharp icicle shooting past. She whirled around to met the eyes of the woman who almost forced her to betray Aslan.
'Why resist your destiny, Ranin? I could give you everything you want.. All you need to do is join me. I could give you a family..' She cooed, as Ranin stilled.
She wasn't born into a family, she was created directly by Aslan, to be his right hand. He gave her everything, just not a family like everyone else. She wavered for a moment.
'I have a family, Jadis. One you could never force me to betray!' Ranin yelled, but her power began to waver, as the light in her palms fizzled. Deep down inside, she wanted a normal family, and Jadis played on her temptations.
'Oh Ranin...' Jadis cooed as she glided towards her. 'I know you don't feel like you have a real family yet... I can change that.' She reached out and touched Ranin's cheek. She was trapped in a trance.
'I just need a drop of your blood, dear, and you will have everything you have ever wanted..' She smiled, as Ranin voluntarily cut open her palm, still keeping her eyes on Jadis, as she moved forward. Just before Jadis could reach for it, a mighty roar made her jerk away, as Ranin broke away from the trance. Her face contorted in rage, as she realised what Jadis was trying to do.
'You will never, ever, do that again.' She hissed, as her body began to glow with a white light. She reached a glowing hand out, as she glared at Jadis.
'Rot in hell.' She hissed, as she began to drain the life out of Jadis. She screamed, and suddenly grabbed The Imperium off Ranin's neck.
'No!' Ranin yelled, as she reached for it. She was too late.
The Imperium filled Jadis with power, as she looked upon Ranin with a cruel smile.
'You said you loved winter? I hope you enjoy an eternity of it.' She said, cruelly as she froze Ranin where she stood, and pushed her off the mountain. She couldn't break out. She felt her soul leave her body. She felt herself slip away. Before she was completely gone, she called out to Aslan.
'Aslan, I know you can hear me, please help..' She whispered mentally, as she slipped into oblivion.
She died.

(QUICK THING THIS IS TWO YEARS BEFORE PRINCE CASPIAN SO DO THE MATH OF THEIR AGES ACCORDINGLY AKA PETER IS 15, SUSAN IS 14, EDMUND AND RAINA 13, AND LUCY IS 11)
The year was 1939. Raina rushed into her new school and heaved a sigh.
'Make friends all over again. Wonderful' she thought. Her dark brown hair was in a side braid, her short front hairs falling on her face, because of running. She mentally cursed herself for forgetting to pin them up. She pushed them aside and started walking towards her class. 'English' was written on the board. When the teacher started talking, the door opened and a boy started silently scooting in, when the teacher looked at him and said
'Mr. Pevensie, late again!'
The boy was wearing a newspaper boy cap and a scarf so his face wasn't very visible to Raina. He replied,
'Sorry Ma'am, won't happen again!' He said, but then he rolled his eyes.
'He definitely has an attitude problem' Raina thought.
The teacher huffed and allowed him to sit down anyway, and he ended up sitting next to Raina. When she was about to start writing notes, the boy next to her said,
'Hey, you got an extra pencil?'
Raina looked up at him and for a split second she was taken aback by his dark brown eyes and brunette hair. He was definitely cute. She shook herself and nodded.
She handed him her extra pencil and he said,
'Thanks, I'm Edmund by the way.'
Raina smiled back.
'Raina.' Was all she said before burying herself in her textbook.
After class, as she was about to leave, Edmund tapped her on the shoulder and said,
'Here's your pencil' he said and Raina took it.
Raina was walking to her dorm when she bumped into someone. He was taller than her, with blonde hair and most definitely a couple of years older than her. She wanted to be alone and this wasn't helping. She looked up and said
'I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking' ruefully.
The boy smiled kindly and said
'Don't worry about it, I should've looked where I was going. I'm Peter by the way.'
'Raina'
'Pete?'
Edmund was walking towards them.
'How do they know each other? They must be friends I suppose' Raina wondered.
'What do you want, Ed?'
Edmund was about to say something when Raina turned around and he was taken aback.
'Raina?'
'Edmund?'
'Alright, what is going on?' Peter asked
'Raina is my classmate' Edmund said simply.
'I have a question, how do you know each other? Are you friends?' Raina asked curiously.
Edmund and Peter looked at each other before they snorted loudly and descending into laughter.
'Raina, Peter's my brother, though sometimes I wish he wasn't' Edmund said with a great deal of sass, giving his older brother the side-eye. Raina clapped a hand over her mouth and said
'Oh, I didn't realise. I'm sorry'
Someone else walked up to them too, this time it wasn't one, but two girls.
'Peter, Ed, when are you going to start being on time?' One of them said. She was a little older than Raina. She was very beautiful, she had dark hair and light blue eyes. The second girl was younger than Raina, she was raven-haired and she had a kind face.
'Susan, come on it was just 5 minutes' Edmund grumbled. That's when the girl named Susan turned to see Raina.
'Hi, we haven't met, I'm Susan Pevensie!' She said kindly.
'And I'm Lucy Pevensie!' Said the younger girl very enthusiastically, so much so Raina giggled.
'It's nice to meet you both. So you're all siblings?'
The 4 children nodded.
'Do you have any brothers or sisters?' Peter asked
'No I'm an only child, I just moved here from Sutton' Raina answered. She felt shy all of a sudden.
'You're lucky, you don't have to deal with dummies everyday' Edmund said, while Peter, Susan and Lucy collectively rolled their eyes. Raina giggled at their dynamic.
Lucy spoke up
'Siblings are annoying but they're nice anyway'

The year was 1940. The war came to London, and now bombs were being dropped on civilians. Raina and the Pevensie children were being evacuated and sent to the countryside. Raina went to live with her aunt, while the Pevensie siblings went to live with Professor Kirke.
Raina wrote to them often, but never got a response. She was heartbroken and confused as she lost 4 of her best friends. She was particularly heartbroken over losing Edmund. She found out that he is usually very sarcastic and even rude to people but he wasn't that way with her, well, not all the time, and she felt special, but it clearly didn't last.
She missed them dearly. She also wondered why they never made an attempt to reach out to her. Why did they never write back? Did they try forget about her? Why must she always initiate conversation? Sadness soon gave way to anger, and she forced herself to forget about them. It was hard on some days.
Things got easier day by day. There were days when Raina didn't even think of the Pevensies. But not thinking about Edmund was hard. He was the first boy she was friends with, and even though it was short lived, it meant a lot to Raina, especially since she didn't make friends easily.
She wondered if they would ever meet again, alas as time passed it seemed less and less likely.
