Two Years Time
10:16, 14 May 2021Y'all know what I just remembered?
I mean.... If I have the chance why would I not try----
"(y/n)!" I turned at the calling of my name. It was Luffy. He ran up to me and wrapped all of his limps around me five times over. He had just came back from Marineford. I decided not to go because the the two that would accompany him were literally a past Shichibukai and the retired Vice Captain of the Roger Pirates. I think that would be more than enough of a scene for it to get in the news papers. "On the way back, all they did was stretch my arms and face!" he complained, referring to the Kuja pirates. They were absolutely fascinated with men, having never seen any before, or rather never seeing one up close.
"Well you're pretty much completely new to them so it's really only natural," I said, patting his head and pulling him off of me afterwards. "Anyway, I talked to the girls on the island. According to them, there's an island that would be perfect for my two years of training while you train with Rayleigh!"
He stared at me for a moment before his eyes went wide, "EH?! You're not coming with me?!"
I shook my head. "Luffy, it's only natural that I don't. We all need to separately grow. Plus, I can't just spend more time with you than the others just because I'm your favorite!" I joked.
"Why not?!" he whined.
"You're not even gonna deny that I called myself your favo-"
"She's right Luffy. I need to train you on your own. Your growth depends on it. There's only one island and one me, thus only one student, even if the extra student would have been a cute young lady," Rayleigh stated, completely ignoring the fact that I was in the middle of saying something, and making me cover my face with my hands. He definitely knows. He's messing with me because he knows he's got power against me.
"Eh? What's wrong, (y/n)?" Luffy chirped, grabbing my wrists and and pulling them from my face to look at me.
I moved my head back when I saw how close his face was to me. "Nothing! Anyway, you heard what Rayleigh said! I'm going onto a different island!" I blurted while trying to get the temperature of my face lower.
Luffy scrunched his face in thought and then said, "I guess it's okay! Since I'll see you when everyone else comes! I got to see you a lot more than the others have, so it's fine!" He laughed his signature laugh.
I shook my head and sighed, "Alright, well I'm having Law take me to the island since Hancock shouldn't have to take me on her ship."
"Then I can come-"
"Nope! You stay here and recover you weirdo," I huffed, pulling my wrists out of his hands since he still had yet to let go. "I have my stuff packed, so can you come see me off?"
"Of course I will!" he beamed.
I looked back at Rayleigh and smiled at him, "I look forward to seeing you in two years. Thank you for voluntarily training my captain."
He laughed and patted my shoulder, "Like you said yourself, I volunteered. No need for thanks. I'll see you in two years, and keep in mind the things I told you to practice while you were out." I nodded. Then I looked at his hand on my shoulder and back at him, expecting him to take it off. He was still grinning, "And if you didn't want to be teased about being attracted to me, you shouldn't have made it so obvious."
"OKAY! THAT'S ENOUGH, LET'S GO LUFFY!" I ran away from him and grabbed Luffy's hand, taking off down the coast to get back to the Heart Pirates.
I skidded to a stop when we got to the docked yellow submarine. I grabbed my bag and put it over my back, giving Penguin a thumbs up. He reflected the gesture. I looked back at Luffy and smiled at him, wrapping my arms around him. He returned the hug and I heard him sigh over my shoulder.
"I thought you would come with me," he whined. I was going to respond but he continued, "But I need to get stronger so I can protect everyone, though. So I know that this is what should happen."
"Yea? Well I'm glad you understand. Two years will pass by in a flash! You won't even have time to miss me before you're gonna wanna be getting rid of me," I joked, patting his back and letting go of him.
"I would never wanna do that," he immediately replied in a serious tone, holding my upper arms. It took me by surprise.
"Would you two hurry it up?"
"Fine, fine!" I yelled back at Law, who was getting tired of waiting. My attention turned back to Luffy. "I'll see you later!"
He breathed out and nodded, smiling his usual smile, "Yea! I'll see you later!"
~~~
"We're here, Goddess-ya."
I looked up at Law, and then stood up so I could see the approaching island. We had surfaced a while ago so that Bepo wouldn't overheat, and have been moving above water since then. "Is that so," I hummed, walking over to the railing next to the 'Surgeon of Death'. "You gonna miss me?" I asked with a grin directed at him.
He chuckled and made a slight head motion behind me. "Not too much, but they will," he replied. I turned my head to see Penguin and Shachi curled over the floor, crying crocodile tears. "You really shouldn't have talked with them so much on the way over."
"No, I need someone on this ship to remember my greatness," I sang with amusement. "And don't lie, you know you'll miss me."
"Really? I've only known you for a few days. If anything, you would probably be the one to miss me. Didn't you make a comment on my looks when we were on Sabaody?" his tired eyes trained onto me as he reminded me of my long forgotten actions.
My eyebrow twitched and I could feel my face start to heat up. "Look, at this point, I think everyone is hot. You just happen to be more- aaaand I'm shutting up now," I groaned out, dragging a hand down my embarrassed face. My blushing is too common. All these men need to stop. I can only tease them, not the other way around. I caught him smirking from the corner of my eye. "Don't get cocky now. I know it was you who almost walked into the bathroom earlier."
His eyes widened a bit and he spun his head to me, "H-how-! Don't get the wrong idea. It was an accident." He quickly walked off to go tell his crew to get off the floor while I suppressed the need to laugh at him, having switched the embarrassment onto him.
Moments later, I was jumping onto the shore of the volcanic island that I had discovered through the women of the Maiden Island. Bepo had got up before then and given me the tightest hug I've ever received. It was, after all, a real bear hug. Shachi and Penguin got their goodbyes in too, while Law just kind of standing there. You bet your ass I crushed him in an unreciprocated hug.
"I'll see you guys again!" I shouted, waving my hand back and forth dramatically. Law was the only one not to yell back to me, but I did get a wave. Good enough for me.
As soon as they left, I turned and looked at the hell that awaited me. The ground was a plain of cooled lava. There was supposedly a lake at the center of the island where I could have something to drink. There were also rock golems and other monsters(my food)... yaaaayyyy.... My feet were already feeling the burn of the ground through my thick boots. I was sweating from the heat. This was way worse than Level 4 of Impel Down. I would get stronger here, that's for sure. Especially with the pointers that I got from Rayleigh. Truth be told, I pretty much was a second student since he went through the trouble of telling me some things before I left. Those things relating to the reason why I was able to hit Akainu that one time. I nearly fell when a huge explosion went off. My head shot to the right of me, and I saw a bunch of fiery rocks heading my way from one of the many erupting volcanoes
"Oh wow, I'm gonna die here."
~~~
"SHAKKYYYYY~!" I sang, running through the doors of the woman's bar. "Everything's fine now! Why?! Because I am here!" Side note: I did not die at the island.
That got a giggle out of her, and I took a quick look around to see that the only people in the bar were Shakky, Rayleigh, and Duval. "It's good to see you, (y/n). If you're looking for your crewmates, the ones here so far are Zoro, Franky, Usopp, Chopper, Brook, and Nami," Shakky informed me.
I plopped down onto a bar stool in front of her and sighed. "So almost everyone is already here? Bummer, I wanted to be first. Either way, I am pretty happy to finally see people. Look at you guys, actually being able to speak coherently. Ah, I love it!" I swooned as I placed my chin onto my folded arms on the bar counter. Shakky sweatdropped. I could see the concern behind her confused expression. I went a little crazy on that island by myself, I must say. The only things that could say anything close to human speech were the largest golems on the island, but they didn't really want to talk to me much since they were too busy trying to kill me. When I was coming back, I did catch a ride on a cargo ship, but the strangers there were not enough to satisfy my need for human interaction.
"Do I not get a greeting?" Rayleigh joked from behind his newspaper at a booth.
I spun in my stool to look at him, smiling wide, "No, you don't deserve one after the teasing on Maiden Island. Anyway, how did Luffy's training go?"
He chuckled and returned my expression, saying, "You'll have to see for yourself how much he's improved from it, and I will, too. I haven't seen him in six months! How did your training go? Did you become familiar with Haki as I instructed? I can feel that you've grown tremendously!"
I kicked my legs in excitement like a little kid as my cheeks went rosy as I replied, "Really? Great! I've been working so hard and I've even improved my devil fruit powers~!" Shakky chuckled, her eyes flicking between Rayleigh and I. My brow raised and I looked toward her quizzically, "What's with the laughing? You don't feel my immense power up?"
She shook her head in amusement and took a puff from her cigarette. "Nothing, I just think your little crush is adorable," she explained. Instantly, I slammed my face onto the bar table in embarrassment. I see now that being isolated did nothing but exaggerate my reactions to people messing with me.
Footsteps made their way from the booth to my stool and my head was patted. "Don't be so glum! I'm glad to know that I can still appeal to young women," Rayleigh finished with a proud tone. I lifted my head to look at him, scrunching my nose at the thought of the young women who actually interest him. I saw him suppress a laugh when he saw my expression. "You've certainly grown into yourself."
"What's that supposed to mean..." I grumbled.
"You still resemble your mother a bit, but certain features have began to distinguish you from her. I mean this as compliment, (y/n)," he explained.
My feet hit the ground as I jumped away from him, pointing dramatically at the white haired man. "Don't compliment me! I'm going to the Sunny before I get any hope for anything with you!" I shouted, grabbing my bag that I threw down earlier- which was bigger and heavier than me- and running away. The air outside felt so cool compared to the heat of my face. "AAAAAH! I'M A SIMP, DAMNIT!"
~~~
After going through a couple of shopping districts and calming down with some alcohol, I finally decided that I should probably drop this bag off. I've already hit several people with it. A woman was literally sent flying into a wall because I turned too fast. That's not the only reason for me wanting to rid myself of the backpack, though. Its kind of giving me severe back pain. Almost immediately after I thought of heading back, I caught sight of a lightning bolt striking a bar, even when there were no clouds. Running over to the site, I saw... "Nami? Usopp? Is that you?" I asked, blinking owlishly at the two people.
When the woman turned, I could clearly see that it was Nami. She was wearing a bikini top and low rise jeans. Her hair had grown to her mid back, and it honestly looked great. Meanwhile, Usopp had some yellow overalls, or whatever you wanna call those, and no shirt. He's definitely got some muscle mass from the last time I saw him, plus he's got a goatee.
"(y/n)?! You look amazing!" Nami yelled, giving me a hug. I was about her height now, and I am pretty damn proud of it.
I hugged her back and smiled at her compliment, "Really? You look even better than me!" We let go of each other and I went to Usopp to give him a hug as well. "You look great, too, Usopp! And I like that you kept your hair long," I commented, referring to his curly hair that was now tied up.
He laughed and returned my embrace. "It suits me, right? And what about you? You're definitely living up to your goddess name now!" he laughed out. I rolled my eyes and pulled away from him at that. "Ehh?! Wait, it was a joke!"
"Nope, too late! It's done now. Where are you guys going now?" I questioned, turning to Nami.
I knew that she's the one calling the shots if it's between her and Usopp. To be fair, though, everyone usually just goes along with what she wants, it wasn't just Usopp. She said that we'd be going shopping, and so we did. When we got to a clothing store, she was pretty much trying to make them go broke. Her logic for discounting was: If I take half the store, the entire price should be half off, and if I take even more clothes, make it 90% off. That is, in fact, not how it works. All of the stuff that Nami legally stole from the store was put into barrels and we got onto a large multi-person bubble bike. Usopp insisted on driving it, and so we went on our way.
I was gazing at all of the passing people on the grassy street, and then I spotted a certain reindeer rushing his way through the crowds. It looked like he was in one of his devil fruit's 'points' as he calls them. "Is that Chopper?" I asked Usopp. He squinted his eyes and looked where I pointed.
"Oh, you're right! Chopper! Oi, Chopper!" the long nosed man called out, waving his arm to the doctor. He jumped off the bike to greet him when the reindeer came to a stop. "Oh man! You got so big! You must be comfortable to ride on! Doing ok?"
Nami ran up to him next, hugging the reindeer's head, "He's right! And you're so much softer than before! It's been a long time, Chopper!"
I ran up to them as she spoke and petted Chopper, saying, "Wow! You really are softer! It's so good to see you!"
He seemed confused when he looked at us, like we were different from what he imagined we would look like. This was explained when the reindeer tried to tell us that Robin was literally just scooped up in a sack and taken by the world government. Even I couldn't believe that. Nami went on to tell us that there were actually imposters on the island posing as us. Chopper was so flattered by this that he started doing his cute little dance.
We got back to the ship soon after that little mix up. I wanted to go set my bag down, but first I said hi to Robin and had to witness Usopp and Chopper fanboy over Franky's insane rebuilding of himself. Franky also said that Sanji was on the island. Rayleigh and Shakky showed up to inform us of the Navy being on the island and to give Nami pointers on how to deal with sailing a coated ship. I gave him the stink eye when he turned to look at me, earning a chuckle from him and a confused expression from our navigator. The retired pirate didn't bother to tell Nami anything about my sourness towards him, and instead told everyone that Luffy was now on the archipelago, and that we should go to Grove #42 for smooth sailing. We all bid goodbye to Rayleigh, and then set off to Grove #42 since Chopper volunteered to pick the monster trio up with a new friend of his. That friend was a giant bird bigger than the Sunny.
~~~
I set down my bag in my workshop, smiling at the relief of the weight. I started setting out all of the different materials I found but haven't inspected due to a lack of tools onto my desk. I then grabbed my battle souvenirs, setting them out on my shelves and hanging them up on my walls. The head of the first golem I killed, the random human-demon looking skulls I found in the magma, the claw of the first fire fox I tamed. I breathed out in content. I could hear Brook's laughing on the deck, meaning he had shown up as well. Before I went out to see him, I folded up my huge bag and stuffed it into a drawer, making sure to put my letters from all the people I've been talking to into another drawer. What? You thought I was just gonna not have any sort of connection with the outside world? I didn't want to socially DIE for two years. I had to at least talk through written word, so I got a news coo to help me.
Walking out onto the deck, I was greeted by Brook immediately with the question: "May I see your panties?" The answer was no.
"Ooooiiii~! Everyone!" I heard Luffy's voice calling out. It sounded close. We all looked to see that Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji were all riding with Chopper on the reindeer's giant colorful bird friend. Now let's see, Luffy looks relatively the same besides the scar on his chest, Sanji switched which eye was visible with his bangs, and Zoro only had one eye now. Sanji locked his eyes onto Nami, Robin, and I, and then proceeded to rocket off of the bird and into the ocean by the strongest nosebleed known to man.
Usopp dived into the water to pull him out, but I didn't really get much time to think about that because Luffy jumped off of the bird before it landed and tackled me onto the lawn of the ship. "I missed you so much, (y/n)!" my captain chirped, wrapping all of his limbs around me. I smiled with him and hugged back. I didn't have his attention for long, though, because when he spotted Franky, he let go and started fanboying just as Usopp and Chopper did. A cannonball interrupted this. The Navy showed up.
We didn't have to worry about that for much longer since Boa Hancock went and put her ship between the navy ship and us. She was protecting Luffy, of course. When Sanji found out about Luffy landing on Maiden Island, he instantly went into a state of depression. I wonder where that blond cook went for him to be so upset. Anyway, we set sail soon after Luffy officially announced it. I didn't understand Nami's explanation of how this works, but it doesn't matter, I'm not the navigator. Bubble on ship. Ship sail in water. The end.
"Ah, number 7," Zoro said, looking right at me.
I raised a brow, "Number 7? What is this, Umbrella Academy?"
"What?" the green haired man queried, not even bothering to answer why he just called me that, therefore, I didn't answer his question on what the hell I was talking about. I thought about what he said to make sense of it. It took me a second, and then I made a noise in realization. I was the seventh person to show up in Sabaody.
"Are you getting cocky because you got to the archipelago first? Ah, ya know what? I'll let you have this. You sadly won't ever have another chance at this," I said, patting his shoulder. He got taller. He was also visibly irritated by what I just said. That means it's time to change the topic. "I like your new look, it matches your hair. Also, can I see your swords? I haven't seen our babies in so long."
He looked at me with confusion and muttered, "Our babies...?"
"Yes. Our babies. I love them, but they're still yours so I can't really call them my babies, now can I?" I explained, tapping my hand on the hilts of the swords. "I'll clean them for you~! And the sheaths!"
The swordsman close his eye and heaved a sigh, "Yea, yea. Just take 'em."
"Look at you two. Getting along.~" Both of us turned our heads to glare at Nami, who made the exchange uncomfortable. "Sorry, sorry~! I shouldn't say that when Luffy already got a hold of you earlier, huh," she teased, smiling slyly at me.
I rolled my eyes and looked back at Zoro who seemed more irritated than he should have been at that last bit. "I'm taking the babies," I stated before running off to my workshop.
