The Buster Call was.. Called

07:57, 14 April 2021

I wish it were as easy as bashing this guy's head in, but it didn't really work out that easy. I was pretty bloody but I wasn't the one unconscious, and that's what counts. I can't undo my power or else my side will gush with blood, so I just trudged down the hallway in pain, with a key that said the number six.

"Of all things, I invoked buster call?!" a voice sounded off out of the blue and it sounded like.. Spandam's voice? He actually pressed the button? Is he a damn idiot? Ah wait, he is.

"How could you do such a foolish thing?! Cancel it right now!" Robin's voice. She sounded panicked, and for good reason. Where was this sound even coming from? I followed it back into the room I just left, finding a den-den mushi in lizard man's torn up suit. I sat down and listened.

"What? Cancel it? Oi oi, just who the hell do you think you're talkin to? So what, it's the Buster Call... What's wrong with that?! That's right, so what? I'm the Chief of Cipher Pol #9! In order to safely hand you to the government, I have invoked the Buster Call. That's good! In case something were to go wrong here, we can make sure to kill all of those damn pirates."

"How could you do this?! I told you! That will not be the only consequence! There's no human emotion involved in that attack! It'll destroy and burn everything on Enies Lobby! The buildings, the people, the whole island itself! Sacrificing everything until its goal is reached. It's an attack of nightmares!"

The call was ended after Spandam basically called his own troops useless, and then when Robin told everyone to leave, she was hit and we couldn't hear anything else. I hope he dies excruciatingly. I kept the snail in the pocket of my tattered overalls and stumbled down the halls with the pain in my side and my neck. I need to find the others, and fast. There is no time to waste here anymore now that the call was made.

A bunch of commotion was coming down another hall so I made my way there, arriving in time to see a bathtub being thrown out of a room. Then a huge monster came out of that same hole, looking exhausted. That should definitely be Chopper. He has the hat and everything. I looked below and saw a tuft of blond hair. Ah shit do not tell me Sanji was crushed by a tub. I jumped out of the way when Chopper tried to hit me, but he just left right after that. What's gotten into him? I would run down to Sanji, but I'm sure the guy kicked the bathtub in half or something. I ran over to the opening in the room he came out of, seeing an unconscious CP9 woman, plus Nami and Franky.

"What's going on here?" I asked.

"Oh! (Y/n)! Here, come discuss the Chopper plan with us!" Nami called out, and I made my way over.

~~~
Long story short, Franky pushed Chopper into the sea in order to keep him from exhausting his body to death. Usopp and Zoro are now uncuffed from each other because Nami got a key from that lady earlier. I have no idea why they were cuffed together, but I didn't bother to question it.
"We've wasted quite a bit of time," square giraffe said.
"Damn straight! At a time like this, how could you two just fool around?!" Nami scolded. She was looking straight at Zoro and Usopp, disregarding the enemies in the room with us. In front of us.
The two of them pointed at each other and said, "That's because this guy was doing stupid stuff."
"You both are super stupid! Hurry up and get their keys already!" she yelled.
"Temptest kick!"
I stepped to the side but Zoro decided to block the attack with his swords while the others scurried behind a broken wall, cheering him on. I facepalmed. Who's fooling around now? The swordsman jumped off to the giraffe for their fight to continue, but my attention moved to the wolf that was just quietly sitting there. Even when a blast of air pushed my hair to the side from Zoro's fight. He'll be fine. Nami and Usopp started talking, and only noticed the wolf sitting right next to us when he spoke.
"Well at any rate.. Kaku's gotten quite proficient at using his powers," he hummed.
I raised a brow at his lack of action. "W-wolf! I-I'm the one you have to deal with!" Usopp threatened, holding his slingshot out to him.
"Hm? Well, don't get so worked up. You guys want to save your friend right?" the wolf asked, with Usopp confirming and saying he needed the key. The devil fruit user threw a key down at the sniper's feet and I became more suspicious. "Hurry up and take it to her. Go save Nico Robin. To be honest, I don't wanna kill people. I hate blood." When Usopp went to grab the key, the wolfman obviously went to attack him. How could he not tell it was a trap? I jumped in the way, digging my feet into the ground as the man yelled, "Ten Finger Pistol!" and threw his claws toward us. "Don't let your guard down. I'm a wolf. I get people off their guard and chew them up!" he hit my stomach, where I was already hit before, and threw me into a wall, but I wasn't pierced. He did push me into Usopp and smash him along with me, though. "Eh? Why didn't you get stabbed?"
"Because you're weaker than that lizard guy," I grumbled, getting up from the broken wall. It doesn't mean I didn't get hurt, obviously, but still. I pulled Usopp up from the rubble, seeing him grab onto his slingshot.
"Are you talking about Kai? HA! A lizard! Either way, even with that new lame power of his, how are you even here? I'm sure he let you go," he grunted, smirking down at us.
Usopp got up beside me, placing a hand on my shoulder which pulled my attention away from that conversation, "Thanks for protecting me. I'm sorry for not being smarter. Even if I still got hit..." I nodded, ignoring that last bit. He stepped in front of me, pulling back his slingshot. "You're already hurt, and you have a key. You did your part. Let me do this." He pulled back his slingshot and shot exploding ammo at the wolf.
The attack didn't land, though, because I was kicked in the side by the wolfman, being sent into another wall. He hit the side that was already on the brink of bleeding me to death. Why couldn't I have just dodged that damn lizardman? These guys only have one way of fighting and it's cheap as hell. I groaned from the hole in the wall, slowly climbing out, seeing that Usopp was getting beat into the ground by the CP9 man. I stumbled out and tried to get to him, seeing Nami get attacked when trying to save him. I fell onto the floor, holding my side, watching as he held the sniper up. Zoro couldn't help because he was busy not dying, Nami didn't have the power to help, and just as all hope was fading, Sanji showed up and kicked the wolf right in the face. I sat back against a wall as a sigh left my lips. Usopp could have died if he showed up any later.
"How did you get out of that state?" Nami asked. What state?
"A bathtub fell from the sky and the spell got broken. It's probably because I got water all over me," he explained. Then he turned fully to her and started doing his little love dance, "More importantly, Nami-chwan, didn't you fall in love with me aga-" He made eye contact with me and he stopped talking, his feet now completely on the ground as the dance stopped. "(y/n)-san! Are you alright?!"
I put up a hand when he started running over to me, causing him to stop. He furrowed his curly brows at me so I motioned to Usopp and the wolf. He has more important things to do than dote on me. The long nosed man got up, blood dripping down his mask and his visible jaw. He clenched his fists while he faced the floor, breathing out, "I-I'm sorry, Sanji. I... After all... I..."
"You're still alive. That's all that matters. Everyone has things they can do and things they can't. Look outside, all of you," I turned my head at Sanji's words, looking at the hole in the wall that showed the gates we were trying to keep Robin from going through.
"The Gates of Justice are about to open. Robin.." Nami voiced.
Sanji continued talking, "Once those gates are opened and Robin-chan goes through there, the sea beyond hosts a nest of Sea Kings and we have no means to cross it. Past that, there's a larg prison and Navy Headquarters. Soon, Robin-chan will be taken to a place beyond our reach."
"Oh no.. Luffy didn't make it in time?" Nami murmuered as we all stared at the slightly open gates to a place we couldn't dream of entering.
I shook my head, "There's no way... he'll get there.. someone will..."
My eyes shifted onto Zoro's fight seeing that the square giraffe was actually pushing him back. The wolf man got up right after that. Sanji told Usopp that there was something only he could do, and Nami took off with Usopp, dragging his beaten body. She then realized I was still there, and went to grab me too, but Sanji told her to just go, and that he'd keep me safe. I sighed and leaned my head back, not really feeling the need to be awake anymore. Needless to say, I took a nap after Sanji moved me out into the hall.
~~~

"(y/n)-swan~! I have come back for you~!"

I blinked my eyes awake and watched as Sanji spun his way over to me, sweeping me up in his arms bridal style even when he was clearly badly damaged. I smiled and looked up at him, "Thanks, Sanji. You're my knight in shining armor," I hummed. "I'm glad you're not Zoro because I was not looking forward to being thrown around like a sack of potatoes."

He looked at me with hearts in his eyes and smiled widely at me, "Yes~! I'm much better than that idiot marimo!" I chuckled, and then when I leaned my head back, I saw that Zoro was literally standing right there, his eyebrow twitching.

"Ah, didn't see ya there."

"Whatever, let's just get moving," he grunted, running off in a random direction.

"OI! WE HAVE TO GET THESE KEYS TO USOPP! HE'S ON THE ROOF! ARE YOU AN IDIOT?! WHY'RE YOU GOING DOWNSTAIRS?!"

"I KNEW THAT, CURLY BROWS!"

~~~
I sighed in content as we all watched Robin get her cuffs, looking at the scene from the sliced floor Zoro fought on. She beat the shit out of Spandam with her devil fruit. Now all that's left to do is get her back. Franky was down there with her, and she got the keys from Usopp, who shot them over to her. That must have been the thing only he could do that Sanji mentioned. This little moment of success ended when a huge explosion went off at the fencing to the island.
"That was a huge explosion," Zoro muttered from beside me.
"If a bunch of battleships come and rain down cannon fire like that..." Sanji thought aloud, not finishing the thought and moving onto another, "Also look at that, the whirlpools that were surging so violently that they prevent ships from coming here are now completely gone. It's because the Gates of Justice were opened all the way to allow attacks. Those whirlpools were generated by the sea currents blocked by the huge gates. Now that the gates are open, and nothing is blocking them, the sea currents went back to normal."
"Which means battleships.." Zoro said.
"...Will have no trouble coming this way," Sanji finished.
We looked at Usopp, and the two of them called him down, and when he refused to jump, a cannon hit the upper half of the building, sending it completely off of the tower. I covered my mouth, my eyes only being able to watch as the building fell, dropped into the nothingness of the falls below us. No sign of Usopp. We panicked for a second, but the man just came falling from the sky, letting us yell at him. Sanji informed Robin and Franky that everyone was alright, and things continued.
The two of them decided to just carry Usopp between them on a cloth, and I got up so I wouldn't get in the way of that. Sanji tried to stop me, but I told them it wasn't a big deal. Not until I undo my power and spill blood like a whole fountain. I thought it was funny, but Sanji did not. Anyway, we ran, my hand staying on my side because it hurt. Stabbed and kicked in that same stab. That is just unlucky. At least he only grazed me instead of stabbing my stomach right through. Eventually, they dropped Usopp, but we just kept on going because his complaining was really irksome.
When Usopp got back in the hammock, he started yelling about how we need to get out because there was water rushing toward us. No one did anything until Nami, Kokoro, and Chimney came running our way with surging water hot on their tails. We tried to run, but we were swept up in the water. I was holding my hands over my mouth, my power deactivating against my will. I could see the water around me turning red. Through my blurry sight I saw Sanji frantically swim over to me, looking at my side aggressively. We were gathered up by a cloth all of a sudden, and we all looked up to see.. a.. mermaid?
I looked harder and.. the air busted from mine and everyone else's mouths as we all realized that the mermaid was Kokoro. Gosh, I have no time to be surprised, I'm bleeding and suffocating to death! Eh it's too late, I'm unconscious already.
~~~

I woke up to see Usopp and Nami freaking out above me. My stomach felt wet. Oh yea. I activated my power and sat up, groaning when I felt my head start to spin. From what I could tell, we were on an empty navy ship next to a huge staircase. I think the only thing keeping me from dying of pain right now is my adrenaline and the fact that Luffy isn't back yet. They were still screaming around me, but I blocked out the noise and started hitting my chest, trying to make my heart produce more blood. Someone grabbed my arm so I would stop and I could see that it was Nami who was looking frantic.

"What?"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'WHAT'?! YOU'RE IN A POOL OF BLOOD!" she shrieked.

I was about to reply until I spotted robin. I blinked a few times. "ROBIN!" I yelled, a grin on my face as I got up and jumped on her, hugging her tight. "I thought you got through the gates for a bit there!"

She laughed and patted my head softly, "I almost did. Your were bleeding heavily earlier, I thought you wouldn't wake up."

"AAHHH! DON'T JINX HER LIKE THAT ROBIN!" Usopp scolded, throwing both of his hands up. He looked to the side and I followed where he looked. "Zoro!" the masked man yelled, then ran up the steps that Zoro ascended.

I slumped off of Robin and sat down, feeling dizzy again. Geez, I really did lose a lot of blood. My hand started patting Chopper's fluffy body subconsciously as my eyes stared up at the men at the top of the staircase. I wonder what they're talking about up there. Nami was running around, checking the ship while the reindeer and I sat her, unable to move much. He was trying to tell me that I needed to lay down and wait for medical treatment, but I didn't really feel like laying down right now. I'd probably fall into a sleep I'd never wake up from.

"We can depart at any time! Once Luffy gets here, we can set sail right away!" the navigator called up to the guys standing at the top of the stairs, getting a 'yea' from Zoro.

"This is a report from the front gate in the northwest. We've completed retrieval of Enies Lobby's marines and officials. Also, at the front gate, we identified about fifty pirates, including the giants, escaping the main island. We have finished eliminating them with a barrage of cannon fire. All are dead. Under the circumstances, no one could possibly survive on the main island. Hence the number of survivors on Enies Lobby's main island is zero! This is a report from Battleship 2." The report kept going on the speakers, but I didn't care to listen. They killed the Franky Family? And the shipwrights? Paulie and Zambai?

It was silent on the ship for a moment, and the Nami muttered, "Is it really okay...for people to die so easily like this?"

"You can't see people on the map. They just erase a small island from the world map, without a shred of emotion. That's what Buster Call is," Robin responded, looking down at the wooden boards.

I looked down, seeing Chopper's crying face. "Is this.. their justice?" I mumbled, furrowing my eyebrows. "How is this justice?"

I could hear Franky telling Luffy to hurry up. I don't think I could be that strong. To lose everything and still hope for someone else to have everything. Franky is truly something else. He then started talking about how if Luffy didn't keep Lucci there, a lot of people, including us, would have died.

"You know, sometimes I think.." all of our attention was directed at Chopper when he started talking, still laying flat on the ship's deck. "..That Luffy always seems to know whom he has to fight from the start."

"He just has animal instincts... even better than yours," Nami replied.

I laughed and patted his stomach, "Yea, he's got to at least be smart in battle if he can't think about anything else but food when he's not fighting." He giggled a little, and then seemed to switch gears and tell me that I needed to lay down and rest, to which did not listen, acting deaf.

We all heard some explosions go off followed by huge splashes. It was reported on the speakers that the first column was cut off, and that Luffy and Lucci were in said column. Huge ships surrounded us afterwards. The speakers started reporting that the bridge and escort ship had pirates, which was definitely us, and that we were the ones who defeated CP9. Ah crap. Nami prepared for a battle while I slowly stood to my feet. I'm not that dizzy anymore. The others on the bridge were yelling to Luffy about how we were safe and ready to go, then they all turned around to look at the huge ships surrounding the lot of us.

"We'll stand our graound here with everything we've got! Hold your ground until Luffy comes! At any cost!" Zoro ordered, holding his swords already.

We all got ready to fight. Well except Chopper. He was still stuck on the floor. When soldiers finally started coming down the steps, Nami held them back by striking them all with lightning, and then Robin used her devil fruit to take care of the ones who ran in afterwards. When more came down, I shifted my hands to grow spikes on my knuckles, throwing them into the ocean after stabbing them in the chest with a punch. I don't think they died but if they did, they tried to kill me first.

I don't think I can keep this up for much longer. Where the hell is Luffy?

---Almost thereeee! I can't wait until the two year timeskip. Y'all are gonna be so cool with your power. It'll be epic.
